PCs are not app based, so probably not. Apps are primarily on smart phones and Macs. I could be wrong, but that's been my experience.

Macs aren't app based either, granted you download them from the App Store in iTunes but the end of the day it's a program.

Apps are usually for phones and mobile devices(tablets), apps are generally a smaller compact and less feature based program.

Apps generally refer to mobile version of computer based programs.

I've had and have both Windows(pc) based products and OSX(Apple) based products. I swing both ways when it comes to tech products.

AHHHH... Well, if you want speed for the net and operation, i don't know enough about the android tablets to go there. apple ipad and win10 laptops are both pretty quick. if you can find a laptop with an i5 processor, than youre golden for anything you'll do at home.

I want something to let me read a Kindle-format book on my PC -- the book I want is available only in Kindle or audible format, and I hate listening to books, I can read a lot faster than I can listen. And the book is "out of print" in any other format.

i have an ipad mini 2 and a surface 3... the mini2 is mostly for the drone, pretty quik little machine, and it was pretty cheap.
the surface 3 is a solid win10 workhorse and really ideal

Had this Ellipsis 8 tablet for over a year and eligible for an upgrade on the Verizon Edge Plan
The only complaint I might have is the touch screen is not super responsive (like my Droid)...but I do have a rather thick screen protector on it...favorite things I like is watching videos and Google searches, play occasional games too...But I do like using a tablet, more than I would a laptop, (brother has one)..

You buy an Ipad once. It upgrades it's OS everytime the OS gets one, so you're stuck with just the processor speed. Android locks the OS to each mfg that sells it, so to upgrade to a better OS, you have to buy a new pad. That's why they're cheaper.

I've never really messed with the tablets but that's interesting and great to hear. Main reason I always disliked Apple products is because they were like you're describing android. After a year it's outdated and incompatible. The only Apple thing I liked was the ipod (at the time simply nothing matched it) and I had to jump through a lot of hoops to deal with compatibility with itunes and what not. Turned away from them after that. Glad to hear they got their shit together in that department.

i get that, i avoided Snapple pads as long as possible. When i did finally get one, it was out of necessity and 2 generations old.
its running the new os and still fast enough for my needs. The newer ones have to be pretty blinding

The beauty of Apple products is Apple has 2 lines for mobile devices: iPhone and iPad, now look at Samsung or other major android players. They have 100's of said devices to keep updated with software...... Oh wait they don't, 95% of the time they push updates to the more popular devices and then it's glitchy at best.

i was an apple fanboy for a while and went to android for a period then win10.
apple has loosened some of the restrictions to allow more "androidesque" experience.
i used to jailbreak my iphones to add widgets and third party functionality. after my anti apple phase going back ive noticed a lot of my reasons for jailbreaking have been included.

There might be a work around, if any place has an espresso book machine you can get a print made. Not sure on cost but is an idea.

if you're trying to learn on a small one, you're hurting more than helping. i tried that for months with a symax5. the damn thing was so small and light that i spent more time chasing it, than flying it. I finally got the phantom3standard and it took maye 3 or 4 fligts and it felt completely natural. it will wonder a few feet because it doesn't have the sonar like the advanced, but really if youre outside, who cares?.
but hell, if you can get a smaller drone to fly with control, i'm envious.

I practice out in my warehouse, so all I hit are bags of beans or corn. Mostly do hover maintains and spins in head mode to learn control, but I know a GPS fixes that.
