My town let's us have chickens but my neighbors can't be trusted to not kill/tortue them. Their kids are 6-13 and weren't taught to not fuck with animals! I walked out one-day to their oldest trying to piss over the fence on my dog. Went to talk to dad and it's "well it's my fucking fence and my fucking yard. They can do what they want." I said "that's fine when he sticks his weenie back over the fence and it gets cut off don't come bitching to me" no problems since
