@Joshua Iles, good
morning to you...

Here's an example of
'Dirty Sailor', as it
happened to one of my
band mates, back in the '90s. We were playing a
biker bar, in North
Charleston, SC - a very
rough part of the area.

We were raising money
for a fallen biker that the
patrons knew, who died
in a wreck. Our rhythm
guitarist was told: wear
jeans, boots of any
kind... and, if you have a
leather jacket - wear it.

Well, he showed up,
dressed like a 'Metrosexual' (guys who
love cargo shorts, Rainbow sandals, and
short-sleeved, tailored
shirts that would be at
home with a business
suit).

This grungy old rat biker
walked up to him, and
said, in his best 'Dirty
Sailor':

"Boy, you look just like
my wife... my wife, in
prison..."

Everyone broke out
laughing, and after the
old biker winked at him,
he RAN for the tour bus - barricaded the door,
cranked it up, and he sat
there in the air
conditioned bus, and
said, "Nope. Nuh-uh. No WAY am I playing
this gig!"

At the time, I was
considered by most
bikers to be a 'RUB'
(rich, urban biker) - yet, I
had chaps, leather
jacket, Lee jeans and
engineer's boots. I knew
the look, and I blended
in, just fine.

Even if I rarely associated with bikers who were the 'genuine article'.

Lesson for Friday, the 25th:

After reading the above story, this is the example that best exemplifies what I believe, in life's tribulations:

"Pick the path of least resistance."

Hazelnut Eight O'Clock coffee: super YUM, even with the sweetener Stevia. :)

@boriqua75, if you want to generate positivity for
those two ICU patients, and they're conscious...

Give 'em each a Breazy pen (LoL). Big girl panties or no, everyone here at 'The Corner' knows that you possess empathy - and, that makes you a damned good nurse.

Those patients deserve the best in superlative medical care - and, we all know that you're up to the task.

Personally, I'm very proud to know you. You've overcome adversity that many people cannot recover from - yet, you did!

'Cornerites', let's give @boriqua75 some support. She's definitely one of us, and I sure that her husband would support the idea that she doesn't need to wear 'big girl panties' (no sexual innuendo here - we believe in you).

Besides, we have to help your husband a wee bit, don't we? (LoL). Creo que sí.

LW & Liz (we're rooting for you!) :)
Hahahahaha!,absolutely @LOveWerks!!! Any help is appreciated! !!!!

Good morning allo_O. Happy Friday to y'all;). Going in to work a little later today cuz' the company changed the hours of op. for today:mad:. Bar night with a few of my co-workers tonight.....so......Talk to y'all tomorrow:).
Lousy day for me yesterday. BBQ @ my workplace yesterday from 2:30pm - 5pm. I felt like crap, so I didn't eat or drink anything. Instead of going to the bar afterwards with my co-workers, I opted to go home and lay down on the couch. I ached all over, and had a shitty mood to go along with the pain. Of course, I have a dentist appt. this morning (that I forgot about), so......this weekend isn't lookin' good so far. On that note....rant over. Talk to y'all later.

Afternoon all:eek:. The dentist visit was easy. Shot me in the gums with some novocaine/novacaine, then drill & fill (only one this time). General aches and pains past 2 days for me.....why?......I don't know. The tear in my shoulder has been acting up. Waiting for workmans comp. to authorize an MRI. NOT happy about the wait for them:mad:......and the pain:(.

I went to the Redbox last night to pickup a movie (and a few grocery items), and was texting my best friend in South Carolina while I was out. When I left the store, I was like "Holy Shi+!", as I ran into (not literally;)) an old English teacher of mine from high school. The ironic things about that, Is that it was in his class that my best friend and I met and that I haven't seen the guy in about 25 years or so. He didn't recognize me without my "rock-star" hair that I had back then, and I was AMAZED at how he remembered that class and so many of the people (by name) that were in it.

I decided to have a little fun, so I called my BF in S.C. and said to her, "I've got someone here that wants to talk to you". She replied, "Uh....OK?" I handed my old teacher the phone. They had a 5 minute conversation and that in itself was funny to hear (as she hasn't seen him in about 25 yrs or so either). It was both cool and funny to hear them talk, and take a trip back to those days of old. After I said goodbye to him, I continued to talk to my friend for another 15 mins or so. This teacher was the guy that told my friend and I back in 1987 that he would be surprised if the two of us DIDN'T get married. Well......that never happened, but what did is that we've remained BEST friends for the past 27 years, and have been there for each other in all the good times as well as all the bad ones. And with all the talking that the two of us did with each other in his classroom, I was shocked that he NEVER once separated us from each other. But then, some things will never change, cuz' the two of us are inseparable no matter what!.....and will remain best friends til' the end :).

That must have been so cool to her to talk to the teacher, That must have totally freaked her out!!
It was FUNNY:D.....to say the least;). What would've been even better, is if we ran into him while my best friend was up here, over this past Summer:p.
