My Ipower 80 is 1bazillion times better in TC mode than my vapor flask 133 using aspire cleito ss coils
the dna hits temp protect almost as soon as I hit the button...tried it before and gave up on it

Seems like I wasted nearly $200 on this pos

can't figure out how to set a custom tcr

hell even my rx200 is 100 times better at TC.

Are you using the stock settings?
What type of wire?
What type of build?
What are your settings? (temp, watts, resistance, preheats, ect)

I'm willing to bet yours came preset with a preheat in whatever TC. Have you been in escribe?

To get the best TC results with any DNA mod you need to customize the settings in Escribe. Watch some videos and learn about Escribe and set it up properly. I use TC with my HCigar VT133 all the time and it functions perfectly.

Or, you could pick up a Hohmtech Slice or G2. TCs any wire with much greater ease, much less expensive than a DNA, no need for a computer or Escribe, and is as ugly as sin. What more could you ask for?

It does have preheat set, should I turn that off or set it to something different?

I left the preheat to the stock settings from Vapor Shark...temp I tried everything from 400-500° and watts from 50-75, they all seem the same, totally anemic vape

Umm there is no option to turn off preheat...set the watts to 1 and time to 0 but it gives me the same shitty vape

really pisses me off a $30 device works 100 times better than a nearly $200 one...nothing I do with the setting makes any difference in vape quality

back to using it at 13W with my N2 :( what a waste

Preheat with TC makes no sense at all to me. I set mine to 0.0 seconds which I would think disables the function.

In TC I have always set watts to a level that has enough energy to get a clapton up to temp quickly (like 60w in TC for a 30w coil in power mode) and TC should do the work to moderate watts down to a level that maintains my desired temp once reached.

Why bother offering a preheat setting?

Rabbit slayer, a 13w coil may be your issue. I don't vape that low but amanda bitchces about TC becasue she vapes at 2 watts( :D ) and says TC doesn't work for her.

Got a setup with a more manly coil to try TC with? :p

The 13W coil isn't TC...I have only been using the device in wattage mode and wanted to give TC another shot but I seem to be too stupid to figure it out on the dna board...have zero problems getting TC to give me a satisfying vape on every other device I own

I would get a file from someone with the wire types set up already.
Wingsfan shared his setup files with me, I installed it when the DNA hit my mailbox and it works well enough as is so I haven't touched it. Seems the ss430 file's tcr is a bit off vaping at 370° when I am usually around 450° on other mods with a 138 tcr but I will mess with that later.

Yeah, I saw that. I need to get into mine and see if I can turn the tcr down in the 430 profile. Haven't even looked to see if it uses a tcr or some other value.
That's for tomorrow after work.

If it were me, I'd start with the latest EScribe, let it update firmware if it wanted.
Then I'd go to Options>User Interface and select Manufacturer.
Now I'd click on the Mod tab. I'd make sure my batteries were set to LiPo 2 cells.
Then I'd look at the Mod Resistance and see if it is in a range of 0.004 - 0.008 most of my existing DNAs are 0.006
After that, I'd make sure I had a pair of batteries charged to about 50%, the mod was room temperature, and I knew the room temp.
Then, I'd click on the Case Analyzer and watch it run for 2-4 hours. When it was complete, I'd click Upload Settings to Device then save the file so I know I have a copy of a new configuration.
Now I'd go to the Materials tab. I'd delete every material I can. Go to Steam Engine and get the CSV files for every material I think I'd use and Import them here.
Then I'd go to the General tab and setup a new Profile 1 with the material I just imported. Leave preheat to the same value as the wattage I set, make sure the Temperature Dominant box was checked.
Now, I'd open Device Monitor and vape. If it doesn't hit the temp I asked it to, I'd bump the wattage and try again.
If it still didn't vape well, I'd use the Atomizer Analyzer to see if my resistance was unstable.

If all this fails, then I'd try a different tank, then RMA the mod.
