I couldn't get the top cap off my Hellboy V2 for the life of me. I spent about twenty minutes trying to remove it and it wouldn't budge. Asked my old man to see if he could get it off, next thing I know he's moving it from side to side and thrashing it around on the mod. I unscrewed the RDA and he had totally bent the 510 pin. That's $60 dollars and an xmas present down the drain. Lucky and he didn't break my mod. :(

This is why I hate those RDAs that use o-rings to hold the cap on; they're too damn hard to get off, or even to get on *straight*. I use an Achilles, which is all threaded; if I can't loosen it, I use pliers; works like a charm.

Yeah, the Hellboy V2 was almost impossible to remove the top cap even with the single o-ring it had on it. I've never had an RDA that was such a pain in the ass, but it was great to use.

But did he get the top cap removed?
lol

Haha, nope.

Every RDA I've tried that used o-rings instead of threads, I spent more time cussing at than vaping with. That was what first sold me on the Magma, plus the reasonable well; then I tried the Achilles, which has an even better vape, tighter draw, and deeper well... and also all threaded. Couldn't possibly get better. *(It also never ever leaks.)

Bummer.
If that is the square one it'd be hard to thread it.
Is it unusable now or just crooked?

It's cooked. It was super bent so I just binned it. I had a 25mm Buddha sitting around so I'll just be using that from now on.

Oh hell, sounds like you need ductape, caulk, and a hammer.
Sorry for your loss.

Haha thanks man. I considered my burner mod because I didn't really like it anyway. Now to bust out the smok alien that has been sitting in its box since xmas.

What kind of mod is it? You can replace the 510 pin it's fairly easy to replace in some mods.

The Alien is a good mod.
Does TC better then the IPV6.
Firebar is certainly better.
Some have had paint issues.
None of mine have, I might just be lucky.

Paint issues on iPVs? Betcherass. I love my iPV Minis, but I had to wrap both, the paint is shitty.

The bottom oring/seal on my bachelor tank is like that. Supposedly the glass just wiggles off, nope. I think that shits on there for life or at least until the glass breaks. I just consider the glass and chimney one piece lmao. Tried removing it a few times, no dice and it doesn't leak so not pushing my luck.

Sucks about the rda and mod, hopefully you can get a replacement 510 and save the mod at least.

Or the opposite, and the O-rings are so loose the top cap just falls off :(. Both are not too good, luckily I have more RDA's that are OK than not.

Sorry to hear about your RDA though @TrackDay, thats not good. Just be glad the 510 connection on your mod is OK too, that kind of force could of messed up the mods 510 too.

EDIT: Oh balls, I just read he HAS done that. Sorry man :(

I have a Bachelor Nano that's the same way. I was going to totally disassemble for cleaning, but gave up on it and cleaned as best I could while leaving the glass on it.

Giving more information is always useful, if you told hold to try and get it off by just pulling and nothing else because the device might break the mod might not have been damaged in his attempt to do what you asked him to do

Sorry to hear that he broke it. I won't let my husband touch my mod for the same reasons. lol

My CCI Archon deck does that with all 3 tops I have for it. I ordered the 2 post deck and it is better, but I am really worried that I will loosen the connection on my mod if I keep using the original Archon. I think I will try some smaller o rings before I give up on it.

Used to have the oring blues, both ways.
Broke down & bought 30$ worth at fastech, another 15$ at a bigbox. Do have any idea how many orings that is?
They don't have to be Mod specific.
12 to 30 mm diameter, Skinnys are cool cause they can be doubled up.
One buy, 3 years ago,,nirvana.

Now i just cuss the Leaking..

I told him multiple times that you just pull the top cap off. Oh well, too late now!

That's why I use a threaded atty stand to remove stubborn caps. Remove the atty and screw it onto the stand and pull the bastard off. If the atty is screwed all the way down you have slim to no chance of bending the 510.

I use these:

https://101vape.com/accessories-/52-atomizer-seats.html

Yeah, that's a good idea. The atty o-rings were tight they actually started to come off when trying to remove the top cap. Kinda galled i binned it, it gave me an excuse to buy another atty and mod. :D

That sucks man. Thats why i never let anyone do anything to my mods. People never care for an item like you care for it. I even get nervous when someone is checking one of my mods out. I stare at the mod the whole time its in there hands. Im super careful when handing my mods to poeple. Sorry for your loss. Bright side is now you have an excuse to buy a new mod, but do we ever need an excuse.

Thanks man. I know how nervous I get when when other people touch my mods in case they drop them. My old man also vapes and I'm always sketchy that he's going to drop it, especially the larger mods like the tempest. Haha, you're right. I'm picking up a new Alien to hoard and won't be letting anyone touch it.
