I just picked up a box of Koh Gen Do cotton, had been using CVS brand organic cotton balls. So far I like this stuff, was a little different having to cut strips but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.

I can't say I was unhappy with cotton balls, but these cotton "pads" don't have a taste at all. They claim that they aren't treated, bleached, or pigmented. I'm pretty happy with them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a cotton ball alternative or just something different.

My question is has anyone tried CelluCotton? I've heard that it's supposed to wick even better, take a higher heat before burning, and potentially reduce dry hit harshness...

I haven't tried Koh Gen Doh ($$), but I really like the 100% cotton Cellucotton. The fiber is different from cotton balls and doesn't get the little "pills." I'm not into super hot vapes, usually in the 8 to 9 watt range with a 1.3Ω coil, but I haven't had a dry hit or burning. It also doesn't have a cottony taste.

I just ordered some rayon Cellucotton. I've heard very good things about it, but it won't be here until next week.

Price wise the Cellucotton dirt cheap compared to the Koh Gen Do cotton.
The verdict is still out on which is the better wick, taste wise, use wise and how long it lasts....

I have some rayon fiber cellucotton on the way. People certainly seem to like it for its wicking ability. Mine is coming from Texas Beauty Supplies. Seven dollars is the order minimum so had to get 3 boxes, forty feet per box. With shipping it came to $15.82. I can sale the other two boxes for $5.00 each.

I'm gonna pimp my fave youtuber again, pegasus1337. He will send you a free foot of cellucotton for a self addressed stamped envelope and a review. Great deal, imo! I am looking forward to trying it, will boil first though.

I went today to Sallys Beauty Supply here in East Tenn and got a big box of CelluCotton, # 44060, Cost was 12 dollars OTD.

I did a new .4 ohm build using 26 Ga with a dual coils in a Tobh V2 RDA and a stingray Mech Mod.

I did the Pegasus1337 method as mentioned above
Video Link:

Wow, great taste, good clouds and the cleanest first burn ever. This stuff works so nice. I vaped some Nicoticket F5 Refresh ( since I was familair with the taste ) and have been hitting this build ever since. My wicks still look like brand new after several hours and they dont look like they will change at all. Very clean.

So far so good and I'll check back in a few days with further results.

I got some ceelucotton from my local B&M store Friday, I've heard good things about it, but I've already gone back to organic cotton and put the cellecotton away.

Ist I had it in a dripper, and the thing was so noisy with cracking and popping, it was annoying to vape, never had the dripper be that bad, so put it down to the cellucotton. Then I put in it in my Squape, didn't have the noise with the tank, but it just tasted weird, maybe I just got use to the taste of cotton and like the taste of cotton. Pity I bought 10' of the stuff, but didn't cost a lot and may try it again at another time.

I have had my interest peaked with the cellucotton. I may just have to pick some up to try out. I'm going to wait it out for another month or so until more people have jumped over the learning curve. I wish I could just grab a sample from somewhere instead of having to pick up a giant box of it. I've always been a organic cotton kind of guy, but I'm always up for trying something new. :)

Easy fix for that. Send Pegasus 1337 a SASE and he will send you a foot to try. He has a channel on You Tube.

I'm a huge fan of XC-116 myself. Super clean taste, decent wicking... and lasts for months (only need to torch it a little to restore the bright white appearance)!

You do not have to buy a big box of it. Sally Beauty Supply which is in most cities sells 10 foot little bags for like $3 and the big boxes for $12. You really shouldnt have to order this stuff online. I dont live in a huge city and we have like 3 of them locally. Any beauty supply should carry them really.

pbusardo did a video on his youtube channel comparing : Hemp twine, organic cotton balls, ko gen do cotton, cellu-cotton aka rayon. His results in wicking properties were:

1. Ko Gen Do cotton
2. Cellu Cotton
3. Hemp
4. Cotton

Between the first two, he asked people to see if there was a difference in taste, using the same juice, and the results were too close to draw a conclusion. The cellu cotton does not deform or break down as fast as the KGD cotton... It basically stays cleaner for longer..

I'm just reporting his results, use what works best for you. I'm also saving you like 45 mins, since pbusardo is not known for short videos.
