Interesting fact
Depreciation Starts The Moment YouDrive Off The Lot. The minute a person drives a new car off the lot it loses approximately 10 percent of its value. By the end of the first year, that car willlose an additional 10 percent onaverage

True. So, if I bought a new car for say $10,000 and drove it, it's now worth $9,000. After using it for a year, it's now worth $8,100. But now I want to sell it. So I figure "maybe people don't know what they're doing when it comes to buying used cars". So I price it at $16,200. If anyone asks about the price, I can say I paid $20,000 for it a year ago. Initial depreciation is $2,000, with an additional depreciation of $1,800 after using it for a year, nets it to $16,200. Heck, they don't know what I really paid for it! At any rate, I think $16,200 is a fair price for a one year old $20,000 car. But, if I have to bargain with the buyer to get it sold, I will absolutely accept $13,000 for it - saving the buyer a whopping $3,200!!!
