Oh didn't know they made it in shots, but wow, also didn't know you could take it that often without it becoming ineffective, or acting in a negative way

Turmeric is a food, so it doesn't really matter how much you consume. (I wouldn't eat a POUND of it every day, you might turn yellow. LOL!) People who eat curry every day probably take in way more than any of us would taking it as a medicine. I think what Lynn meant by "shots" is a bit of turmeric powder mixed into milk (or some other liquid, but milk is most common). Adding a little black pepper makes it even more effective. ;) To my knowledge, turmeric doesn't become ineffective over time, or negative. There are some others that should only be taken for a couple of weeks at a time, then a week or two off, then back on again, such as echinacea and valerian. Those are the only two I can think of off the top of my head this early in the day. ;) They WILL become less effective over time, but give it a week or two break and then they're good again. Turmeric isn't one of those, but it IS a great anti-inflammatory. It has been said, and I have no proof other than one of my herb books cites "studies," that it's more effective than cortisone shots. It's not a pain-reliever per se, but most pain is caused by inflammation, so reduce the inflammation and the pain level goes down. Anyway, it's a good, safe herb that actually does a lot more than reduce inflammation, but that's the reason most people take it. :)

Just wanted to mention than even the official medical community (ie doctors and medical schools) has begun recognizing turmeric as useful for treating certain conditions caused by inflammation. University of Maryland Medical Center for example does have recommended dosages published for different conditions.
It can lower blood sugar, and it can act as a blood thinner, so there are valid reasons to limit the dosages. And generally it shouldn't be taken at the same time as drugs that have the same effect, for example nsaids (such as ibuprofen and alleve) which also act as blood thinners.
Just pointing this out because I'd be cautious on saying you can't take too much.

My turmeric shot recipe..
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup lime juice
8.75 oz can/bottle of plain coconut water
2 TBS raw organic honey
1TSP turmeric

Mix all together(I use a mason jar with a lid and shake the heck out of it) and refridgerate. I take it out, shake it to mix, pour out a 2oz shot, add some black pepper and drink it down. And I do it up to 5 times a day.

It's not actually a blood thinner, it prevents platelets from sticking together (plaque) to make narrow spots and clots, so it has the same basic result as a blood thinner, without thinning the blood. But you're right, I'm no doctor and I have no place saying anything medical, so I retract my statements above. I will continue to use it myself, but I don't recommend it for anyone else. :)

Actually from what I've researched so far I'd recommend it to a lot of people, I was just suggesting that it is possible to take too much. Everything (even good old oxygen, or the purest water on earth) can be unsafe if you get too much of it.

I've come to the realization that doctors will tell you anything and everything is not good for you, i.e. Turmeric because if you use those products for natural healing, it takes money out of their pockets. They depend on us, the consumer and big Pharma for their income.

Kevin's been trying to get me to try Tumeric for 3 months now. Guess I'll order some. I started taking the glucosamine chondroitin msm 3 weeks ago and it's definitely helping. By now, with this cold weather, I'd be popping 6 - 10 ibuprophens a day. Only had 3 all week!!!

I have arthritis developing in my hands, shoulders and knees and the turmeric shots plus Lannie's cream has really helped. I also started taking Osteo Biflex as well. And ordering some? I get my turmeric at the Whole Foods store unless you're talking about the capsules?

Oh I didn't know where to get it. In fact, I even mis-spelled it.
I have horrible arthritis in my neck. I don't talk about it too much (too depressing), but it's REAL bad. C3-8 are pretty horrible. The lower the disks, the worse. At least my balance is somewhat better and I haven't used my cane in about 6 months now. Surgery at this point is not an option since all of the disks are degenerating.

Yeah, like it only takes 1 teaspoon to drown yourself.
it's cold out just about wherever you live.
Yeah, we got down to zero (0F) this morning and had a couple more inches of snow overnight (the forecast was for a max of 0.4 inches) and while we were out doing chores this morning, it got all the way UP to +12F -- all together now, "We're having a heat wave; an arctical heat wave..." (Yes, I made up that word). Anyway, it's back down to 6F already (10:30AM) so I guess we've already had our daily high temperature. Gotta go feed the house critters now, then go snow-blow the paths and bring in more firewood.

Yes, and the more they can scare people into not using therapeutic amounts, the more money they get in their pockets. It's so simple. I used to get really worked up over that, but in my old age, I've realized the only person I need to take care of is myself (and my animals, and sometimes Rich ;)). If someone asks about something, great, I'm happy to help, but if they're afraid of something, no amount of reassurance from me will convince them. Every person has to learn at their own pace. :)

It's almost 70 here. Maybe we got that heat wave. Glad it wasn't an arctical heat wave. :bliss:

Morning :)

Made some twisted coils and added some ribbon wire, they vape really well

So.....Just a little note ahead of my Arctic V12 review, now Horizon tech have done what a few other companies do and it annoys the hell out of me.

There 0.1 and 0.3ohm coils state 12 coils in each housing but in fact it's 4 coils containing 3 wires in each coil, now that doesn't make 12 coils Horizon, That's 4 coils, with a 2 core wire, wrapped with a third.

Same with there new 24 coil, nope, again, 4 coils each coil containing 6 wires. You insult our intelligence and it's very misleading to new comers.

Don't give me a knife and folk to eat bullshit. Your talking bollocks !

Rant over.......Review tomorrow :)

I have heard that the TFV8 coils and RBA fit in the Arctic V12 too, now the coils I couldn't care less about but the TFV8 velocity RBA is awesome, if that fits in this tank then it could be a great setup......we shall see.

The pic above is the big baby RBA deck, I vape that all the time..

I love my TFV8 Cloud beast, if anyone has leaking on this tank, screw the coil to the chimney first, it solves the leaking, works every time.

Hello everyone, Christmas shopping is almost done now.

Rixy, that Pinkman flavor concentrate by Vampire Vapes is the best juice I have ever tried, this is all I ever want to vape, I loved my custard as much as Rixy did but this fruity vape is just so good I can't get enough of it. I'm happy x

What???? But it's not Christmas Eve yet, how are you supposed to stress out about Christmas shopping if you finish before Christmas Eve?
Oh no way we'll be doing any late Christmas Eve mad rush shopping in this house, apart from the madness, everything is out of stock, most of it is done online and delivered ha. Even the frozen food shop has been done :)

Pretty much the same approach here. Why run to crowded stores, deal with lines, and hoping you can find whatever it was you had in mind when in less than an hour ordered, wrapped, and being delivered without going out in the cold and rain or snow?

I've got my daughter around for most of this week, so I'll be in and out, but a hi to everyone.
