I have $40-$60, looking for something to replace my SZ Shorty since the switch has been acting stupid lately and I'm tired of it.

If its any help...and I am sure you probably researched it...

The Contact pin carrier (plastic jobby with vent holes) isnt in correctly, it will cause firing issues...re-seat it using a socket.

SOI's video on replacing the old copper pin to the silver one can illustrate what I am referring to.

EDIT: Here is the Video...

I thought it might be slightly out of place but I didn't want to go popping it out for no reason, so it's good to know that's almost certainly the issue since it started acting up after I dropped it on my floor a few months back. My 2nd guess was the bottom contact being pretty dirty (almost a solid year of use, haven't had the chance to pop it apart to clean it). I'm gonna take it all apart in a few days to polish everything, hopefully it starts firing correctly again after it gets cleaned and reseated.

Personally my OCD won’t let me go longer than 2 weeks of continuous use of a tube, especially copper, without breaking it down and cleaning every part, always makes a big difference on performance. It’s became a ritual of vaping I actually look forward to.

Don’t be afraid of completely dismantling a mech tube, not much to them. Just pay attention how it comes apart and if magnets are present don’t let them smack together and break.

My cleaning includes:
1. going over threads, springs, magnets, contacts, buttons (anything that is part of the circuit) with mother’s mag polish
2. Washing off remaining polish on parts under hot water with a tooth brush and dish soap
3. Drying parts, applying thin layer of Ox guard grease and reassembling.
Broke out an old tube this morning that was having hot button, the above cleaning cleared it up and had it hitting like a good’en :)

I swear by these products on mech. mods, I started to think I was the only one using Ox guard.
Hell yeah
Picked up the big tube of Ox guard from Lowe’s (lifetime supply lol) for around 5$ a few months ago. Used to use the regular clear contact grease but the difference is night and day, especially on threads.
