After the heightened pace of Season 10's six-episode revival of The X-Files, series star David Duchovny has said that the eleventh season's expanded episode count (they're getting ten this time around) means that the show is able to recreate something "closer to what we used to do".
Speaking to Comicbook.com, Duchovny references the difficult job the show's writers had for the tenth season - bringing back a show that had been in hibernation for eight years, since 2008's big-screen X-Files: I Want to Believe. Fitting so much exposition into the six-episode event series was a tall order, and Duchovny seems confident that, with that exposition out of the way and ten episodes scheduled for the eleventh season, the show will be able to recapture a spirit closer to the series' original run.
