Xbox has revealed the price and release date for its 25th anniversary limited edition console, and it comes with a free game too.

Earlier this summer, Microsoft revealed that it will be releasing a translucent green Xbox Series X console, inspired by the original Xbox console, for the company's 25th anniversary. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that the console will cost a whopping $899.99 and release on November 13. It will come with the Xbox Series X console, a matching controller, and a free copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved. Pre-orders will open tomorrow, August 27, at 7 AM PDT.

The controller can be purchased separately for $79.99, and it will release on October 20. If you're in the market for a brand new Xbox, this isn't a bad deal. The Xbox Series X itself costs $799.99 with a disc drive. This costs an extra $100 and includes one of Xbox's biggest games of the year. However, the next-generation of Xbox is also likely right around the corner. Microsoft confirmed earlier this year that it will detail its next console, codenamed Project Helix, later this year.

It wouldn't be surprising if the next Xbox releases in fall 2027, as Microsoft has already indicated that will be a really important window for the company. The company also unveiled plans for a new disc-to-digital feature that will allow users to get a digital copy of their physical Xbox One and Xbox Series X games. It's been speculated that this is to prepare players for a transition to a more digital-focused next-generation console.
