For 250$, I can think of a few other kids I would want first.
I’m curious. I have that little ess guy, and like the auto feature. But not sure if it really justifies the price tag of the x class.

Well, I was in the squonker game for a good while and had all the good ones. I agree with the statement that it's a solution looking for a problem. Not to mention; has anyone else noticed that Yihi SX Mini is always a day late and a dollar short? One of the top board manufacturers in the world, but with hardware releases, they are always behind the power curve. A couple years ago, squonkers went BOOM! Everyone had a squonk rig. Where was SX Mini? Now, the fad is over, and people have found the squonkers they want, or gave up on squonking for something else. In rolls SX Mini to the squonk party as the music has died down, the lights are on, and last call has sounded...great timing guys! Same with pods, though not as bad of timing. A year ago; BOOM! PODS!!!!! SX Mini? *crickets chirping* Finally they come to the table with a pod that's meh, at best. Get it together SX Mini. I get it...quality over quantity and timing. But the T Class with a fidget spinner 6 months after fidget spinners were in landfills all over the world? Fire your market analysts...

I'm still only a year and a half into all this, but I have read ALOT of old threads at various places and watched alot of old videos. But yes, back on topic. The feature itself is intriguing, but necessary? I don't honestly know...I'd like to put my grubby little mitts on one and test drive it before I dropped that much coin on what may be a really expensive novelty.
I think the rdta fizzled out for several reasons. I know I’ve tried several;and, had issues with all of them, from filling, leaking and awkward airflow. But mostly I thought they looked dumb. (Purely my opinion). additionally I don’t use rtas much because I’m rough on gear and always break the glass in a few days.I'm still only a year and a half into all this, but I have read ALOT of old threads at various places and watched alot of old videos.
Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong about this, but it seems in days of yore, the performance difference between subohm tanks and rba/rtas was huge, and the difference between rba/rtas and rdas was another big jump up from there.
It appears that those gaps have narrowed greatly in the last couple years. There's still that upward progression, but the differences aren't nearly what they once were Especially between really good rtas and rdas.
In the days when rdas were THAT much better than rtas, had squonking been as big then, this might have made a lot more sense. Now, if somebody wants stellar performance without dripping or fiddling with squonking, a good rta will nudge them almost into rda territory.
What's the point of auto-squonking? To get consistent constant hands free juiceflow along with great performance. Unlike in the past, we already have that with good rtas. Which, this makes me wonder why rdtas kinda largely fizzled out.
As a hobbyist who has dabbled in virtually every facet of the vaping game (Ego pens, pods, mechs, tube mechs, hybrids, RDAs, RTAs, Subohm tanks, RDTAs, coil building, DIY juice, DTL, MTL, and every wattage setting from 3 watts to over 500 watts), all I can say is that recent times to me, as a flavor chaser primarily, but also a vaper that doesn't want to have my hands always full of mod, juice, etc, RTAs have in many ways continued a slow, steady climb to the top of the flavor vaping ladder. Sure, you can still find the occasional "holy crap" RDA, but there is only so much engineering innovation that can be applied to a build deck with a barrel, top cap and drip tip. Fancy coil retention systems and pleasing aesthetics do very little in the way of a quality vape experience. With an RTA, the sky is the limit for engineering design and innovation. I have RTAs currently that will gobble up most RDAs even on the high end of the spectrum. I don't have to tote a juice bottle. I don't get RDA slobber all over me. I don't oversquonk. So on and so forth. I have learned though, throughout my years of building and juice making, that the secret for me is a few things.I'm still only a year and a half into all this, but I have read ALOT of old threads at various places and watched alot of old videos.

I think much of vaping is based in current fads that are pushed by vendors as much as users. I see auto squonking as both a fad and a sad replacement for true technological advancement. We’ve hit a serious lul in the tech. You can’t push 18650s to provide any more power safely. So we’re left with glitzy screens, touch screen interface and now a bilge pump to transport juice.

Don't forget the mod wismec put out that plays your music too!I think the rdta fizzled out for several reasons. squonking has Always been there. It just wasn’t mainstream until this past year or so. Before that it had a really high entry level price tag and was mostly the mtl crowd.
The “what is better” question is as subjective as my opinion on the aesthetics of rdta’s. out of every rta I’ve owned I still use 2- the peacemaker from squid and the og kayfun. So what is really better? I have a ton of rdas that get used from the og tugboat to the axial, citadel and reload s.
but that 7 year old kayfun still gets used daily.

While I am in the market for a new squonk mod I don't think I'm ready to cough up almost $250 for the X class. Can think of a few other mods I'd like to get first. Hell, I'd like to make my own.
Will do! Get paid next Tuesday so I'll be ordering the mod kit as well as an air brush kit. Then let the madness begin, lol!Post it up when do ...love following self projects as they develop mate
I can say, the ipv mini 3 with the same ess system for pumping up the jam, isn’t loud Persè, but noticeable at first. The vibration is also noticeable but it’s like an old pager on vibrate. It’s not even as loud or as harsh a vibration as a cell phone.so I did watch SMMs vid yesterday on features and you can adjust volume juice pumped in (or sucked back out) ...he noticed battery performance with it and pump is fairly noisy
still wanna see what hands on experience is like in the field rather than out the box reviews
I still say the tugboat v2, goon 22 and OG goon are as good or better than newer attys. Also the aqua v2 and og kayfun are both timeless in my opinion as flavor rtasHave any of you dug out any of your older atties and realised the same? In terms of not as good as you remember it being compared to what we have now ...all those small tweaks and mini steps have paid dividends it seems
although some are still every bit as good as they always were hadaly springs to mind
Love my goon 22! Had to stop using it because the little twat leaks through the 510. Plus, I'd rather squonk than drip.I still say the tugboat v2, goon 22 and OG goon are as good or better than newer attys. Also the aqua v2 and of kayfun are both timeless in my opinion as flavor rtas

Mine runs well as a squonk atty.Love my goon 22! Had to stop using it because the little twat leaks through the 510. Plus, I'd rather squonk than drip.
Agreed. I have three topsides myself. Although one is fucked. Fires at about 25% of the wattage setting. Tried numerous attys and the damn thing fires so weak. Gonna turn it into a project and take it apart to mess with it.If I were to run out and buy a new squonk box today, I wouldn’t buy this.
If I were to drop 250$, I would look at the boxer 21700 or Rebel mods.
Otherwise I’ve heard a Tom of good things about the topsides and the new Wotofo dyadic looks interesting.

Forgot to add...
Where can I get a squonk pin for the goon 22? Would love to put it on top of my carbon topside!

Thanks dude! Rebel has been on my wish list for a while so it's nice to finally scratch the itch. I'll post a few pics in the vape mail thread when it gets here.Extra jealous of your Rebel!
Looking forward to hearing your opinion of them.

I go the other way having had to make do with what's on hand enough to not be bothered by styles, trends, "new", "new & improved". Seem to find contentment more easily than most. Reminds me I need to locate a peek insulator for my NaRDA clone. Sorry if I'm too introspective on an extroverted aspect of vaping.
