My mods are always clean, I'm ocd like that. I have heard though that the.......erm claw marrks ? Yeah lets call them that, well they light up, I hope you can turn them off though. I thought they were just plastic colored but the first pic looks like the lights are off......Ah, we shall see.

Oh, yeah, now that I look at the pictures closer... duh. I thought at first it was the mod color behind the cutouts, I didn't realize those were plastic inserts. But now I notice the fire button is the same color on all of them. I thought that first pic was just angled enough that it was hard to see the color behind the cutouts, but maybe you're right, the lights are off on that one, and on for the other two. Weird... well, they're still pretty (with the lights on), but I don't think I'd want one that lit up like that. Kinda reminds me of those strange shoes I used to see people wearing with the blinking lights all around the bottom edge.

Guess what, I cleaned out my juice cupboards, all clean and tidy and everything is in order :)

YAY! :stars2:

The fact that you are using rayon over cotton helps keep you from dry hits....wicks faster, and is really hard to get "too much", since it doesn't expand when wet to choke off the wick holes (like cotton does)....so, you are welcome ;)

I know. ;) That's why I started out using rayon for wicks, but all my tanks have rayon in them (except the Goblin mini, long story...). The Serpents have the chimney bit that lifts up so juice can get in all the way around, and they still dry hit on me with cold juice. I guess there must be a bigger juicer on the Nano. ;) I'm sure the Boreas wouldn't give dry hits, either, but that one stays in the house ALL THE TIME. I really needed one I could take outside with me during chores, and the fact that it doesn't "freeze up" on me is just another bonus. Like I said, I wish I had a hundred of these! :D

I was showing horses in "lead-line" classes before I could hardly walk on my own :p

I know, I could tell from looking at that picture, you were born on a horse. ;) I don't suppose you could find it and re-post it here, so everyone could see what we're talking about? Do like before, and tell them to guess which one's you. ;) (But now that I've gone on and on about it, I'm sure everyone would guess correctly! LOL!)

This is what a 3 strand twisted looks like hammered flat :D
Reminds me of necklace/bracelet chain.

my current favorite build.

What does that come out at? I'm not sure I know how to figure out resistance on multiple wire coils on the Steam Engine site. I've been thinking of a simple twisted coil. My hammering skills might be inelegant at best , so I don't think I'll try that yet, but I was thinking about a twisted. It would just be half the resistance of a single wire coil? Never mind, I should just make one and find out, huh? LOL! I have a bunch of flapton coils in my FT cart, though, so maybe I'll go through those first. After they get here. ;)

Generally speaking 2 wires of equal guages twisted together is roughly half the resistance, 3 would be a third, 4 would be a quarter. Im not sure if hammering them out makes any noticable difference in the resistance but Im assuming that it shouldnt have too great an impact since its just a change in shape, not a change in mass. I could be dead wrong there so dont take my word for it.

that coil comes out to .74 ohms

That's weird reading this today because I threw a zipper coil in the OBS Nano and it is better than the fused Clapton and not only has reduced the ramp up and down time but has increased flavor, I get the same cloud production and still vaping it at 45w. It really works very well in that tank..

It's basically the same, two twisted wires, twisted in different directions and then flattened using smooth tooth pliers in a electronic screwdriver, when you put the wires together and wrap them in parallel, it gives the zipper effect, very easy to make and there are plenty of video's on youtube..

I have never tried a 3 stands twsited and flattened but I would imagine it gives the same kind of vape..

I don't rate twisted wire much on it's own but those zipper coils are great, I forgot to take a picture of my build yesterday...

@Darth Omerta

Sorry I didn't post about the Limitless yesterday, I had to go for an eye test, which led to me choosing new glasses and then Emily wanted some stuff for her hair, then we went for drinks and food and well, the whole day got swallowed up..

I don't have good news about the mod I'm afraid......

The second time I closed the magazine clip / cover broke, you know, I was just seeing how it worked, now I'm not sure whether it's the plastic part on the mod that has snapped or whether it's the spring but it's weak as hell for that to happen.....It seems I'm not on my own either as others have had the exact same problem, even guys on you tube have had it happen and returned them, which is what I'll be doing today..

The mod looks nice though, much better than I thought but again, that's where the good points end. The grooves at the front where the fire button is, make it very uncomfortable to hold. The design of the top is also a concern, especially will bottom airflow atty's, just the fact that condensation or leaking and it's going to be one pain in the ass to clean..

It's also too wide and those silly buttons that stick out each side which aren't even buttons, just add to the discomfort, people saying this is nice to hold.......well, I don't get it..

Disappointing to say the least and I wouldn't recommend this mod, there are much better dual box mods for the money.

This was my personal experience anyway, I got less than a minutes use out of it before it broke and the batteries fell out......yeah..

Just the one pic will do, this is a mod I want to forget about asap.

Good morning Wompers!!!!!!

@Rixsta

That sucks! I really like the look of them but I certainly wont be ordering one now. Too bad its shit, but hopefully you'll at least get your money back.
I'll get my money back and maybe it's something that will be fixed, I don't like saying bad things about companies but I have to state what I found, it's only made worse by the fact, that it seems to be happening to others, that is major concern to people spending their hard earn cash..

It's one of those mods that is over thought and is just too busy and when you have just that tiny clip that holds the bottom together, in my opinion, it's a bad design. I'm pretty sure that over time more and more people are going to report this and they may have to redesign it or issue a recall and send out replacements..

I think they tried too hard and this was the direct result of the trouble they had with Ijoy........

On other news, I tried the Smok TFV12 today and well, all I can say is ....erm, well, I don't have any words actually, talk about over the top, it is a crazy crazy tank with clouds way beyond even the buddha on the HOG, it's utter madness ha.

It's a nice looking tank though, especially the gold one and the rainbow one and you can calm it down with the dual RBA deck but the size of those coils are bonkers, now, I like my high wattage and clouds at times but when your getting a cool vape at 150w, something, somewhere has gone too far..

I don't vape anywhere near like I used to now, I'm very happy with my single coil setup..

I will say this though about the TFV12, I got no leaking, no dry hits and the flavor off their single coil ? well, it's the one with the lightening bolt on the sides, that is one flavorsome coil at 90w..

Oh and Good Morning

I hear ya! This is why we have reviews and I dont think its speaking negatively about companies but if a product is not satisfactory for multiple users then both the consumer and the manufacturer should be made aware of the problems.

I have been enjoying my iJoy Maxo315 so far. Ive had it for a few months now and its working very well, Im not reviewer and this is my first multi-cell regulated mod but I am very happy with it so far. The only thing is that the battery door seems to bulge out a bit with HG2s, havent tried any other cells in it so Im not sure if its all cells or just LG. Its not very noticeable and I wouldnt call it a problem but some might not like it if its not perfectly flush.

I dont really know much about the other iJoy products and their issues but Im sure that they have had their share of duds, just like any other mod manufacturer.

Thanks, that's what *my* logic was telling me, but sometimes my logic isn't the *right* logic. ;) Stuff makes sense to me that shouldn't, or vice versa. LOL! But I did make a parallel coil once with the same diameter, wraps and gauge as one of my .4 ohm coils, and it came out to .21 ohms, so I figured yeah, it's just like putting two separate coils in, they're just wound up together. :)

I really like the power wheel analogy for describing how resistance works. Water flows through a sluice gate onto a wheel which turns at a speed based on the pressure caused by the amount of water flowing over it. The wider the gate(resistance) the more water flows through which spins the wheel faster. Switch all that to electrons flowing through a medium, the wider/larger the medium, the more electrons can flow through unimpeded and resistance is therefore lowered(also causing a need for more electrons to cause heat which is why we need higher wattage with more mass). If you "double" the size by twisting or running parallel coils then the resistance should be half, tripling the size give 1/3 resistance, and so on.

OK, so then if Cody's coil had been one wire instead of three, it would have been 2.2 (roughly) ohms, right? I get it. :) If I wanted to make one of those (if I had a tiny hammer, LOL!) that ended up being .35 ohms for instance, I'd use the specs for a coil just over 1 ohm, but use three wires. Ack, that made my head hurt. Need more coffee. :coffee2:

That seems to be about right to me.

Steam Engine has an option for twisted wire, it can be finicky but it will give a pretty close recommendation if you set the pitch to zero and enter the number of strands and the guage and your target resistance.

Well I dont really have much to add about how it all works, but the pitch is just the distance between each "ridge" in the twisted wires. Its usually not significant enough to really use any other setting than 0 so I dont bother adjusting it.
Lannie you are not alone. I had wondered about that as well.
Since the 'pitch' I knew of was threads per linear inch/mm on a screw.
ie a 1/4 20 screw will be 1/4 inch diameter and 20 threads per inch.

A 510 will be 5mm diameter and 10 threads per linear mm.

The only pitch I knew was the ratio of the slope on a roof, throwing a baseball, or that stuff what leaks out of a pine tree. ;) Thanks for the 510 explanation, I didn't know THAT one, either. I'm gettin' so smart today, my head might 'splode! :p

well that stinks. No excuse for such shoddy quality!

Just wanted to pop in and say HEY TO EVERYONE while I have the chance!
Sooooooooo good to see you! hope you pop in a lot more often!

All the grass we recovered a few days ago is once again covered in 4-10" of white shit and I'm getting so tired of it that once again I am thinking about Texas...
lmao........one extreme to the other. But y'all would be more than welcome! Central Tx is a great area.

Sorry I've been so MIA lately. Have had the flu or something and felt horrible. Taking care of a VERY energetic puppy on top of that has just left me drained. Starting to feel a little bit better though. Hugs and howdys to everyone!

Great horse pics Cody! and jup that was great posture in the one where you were the lil guy.

@Debadoo glad you're feeling better!!! Been missing the multiquotes! :D

@Rickajho one absolutely can "pitch woo in an igloo" its a well known fact that if not for woo in igloos most Canadians wouldnt exist! :giggle:

Well I do have the Wismec Predator 228 to show you next week :)

I wish they had centered the 510 on that mod. That would have made it for me.

I've got the AL85 out of delivery today! I had a one day delay in transit due to weather, but it slogged its way through the snowdrifts to finally reach here. I got it as a kit as it was on sale and essentially the same price. I didn't get a BB when I picked up my Alien, so I'll get to give it spin.

A few have said that, I'm still wondering why it matters ? Most mods are offset, looks to be a solid mod and at a good price.. I fire with my thumb so the closer the tank is the better, the Alien AL85 is like that for example.....I'm of a different way of thinking, when we got the G Classes in, that tank sticking up in the center looked daft to me, bit like an anal probe LOL..

Congrats on the vape mail
