So today I did my first build using 26G Kanthal on an Anarchist Riot RDA and ended up with a .55ohm dual coil, and I'm left with the following thoughts which I'm hoping people can pick up on and point me in the right direction.
I coiled on a jig being a newbie, which was amusing in itself, the first 5 coils I made I discarded because even with my eyes, they were crap. The next two turned out what I thought was ok, and usable.
I was a bit cack handed postioning the coils but I did read that the Riot isn't the most user friendly one for beginers so I took my time, swearing a little because that always helps and repositioning, the coils were pretty central in the end but weren't overly level but I decided to stop there.
Firing took a time, I'm not sure how long this process should take but ended up with the coils firing fairly evenly, could be better I'm sure but practice makes perfect and all that.
Finally wicking, yeah I probably used too much, but managed to do the folding and tucking ok I think.
So hints and tips, video links people have found helpful - looking forward to reading them all from you.
So the first vape I did - not sure how long my first set up will last, which even if it's just a few hours I would be happy with because the first vape at 65W which is higer then I'm used to (just coming into week 4 of vaping now) but seriously, wow. Good amount of vapour for me (no where near cloud chasing levels but I'm not going for that), nice and smooth but that flavour. Good grief it was beautiful, this RDA is awesome for flavour.
So there you go, my first time building, took a while, probably full of numeorus errors I have no doubt, and the next time I coil I'm definetly going to pay an awful lot more attention to what steam-engine recommends for wraps, but I enjoyed it.
Hopefully I will improve, maybe.
