If you can still find a good cobbler worth their salt. Been seeing that trade in a lot of decline here 'long the Eastern Seaboard. Not quite sure why that is, probably due in large part to cheap Chinese sneakers. I'd love to find me an old surplus pair of size 12 boondockers and have them get yearly treatment for a nice price. Bah! If'n I'd been a touch more or a touch less of something I woulda taken my boondockers from the Navy been at least half there.
I've got one boot builder shop near me. 45minute drive but I've had the bottoms of these rebuilt once already. Had the boots for 2yrs so far. Best 200bucks I've spent. Well maybe not the best but well worth it.

Recently wanted to see what all the hoopla was about squonking so I got a pico squeeze and a wasp nano to try. Then a got a second setup of the same. I'm liking it...
Now here I am in the bonkers thread and I see there is a lot going on here to say the least!

A wasp/squeeze combo. imho the best starter squonk setup.
Actually the setup I moved to after starting squonking on various other mods and attys.

Yup, I liked it so much I figured it couldonly be better with newer, more expensive attys...boy was I wrong. Started with the Wasp, and came back to it after a brief fling with the Pulse 22 and DR SQ. I’m sticking with Wasp-esque reduced chamber attys from now on.

I've been preferring the Hadaly lately for single coil/single battery mods over the Pulse and Wasp Nano but the Wasp with a 510 DT works perfectly too. I entirely disliked the Entheon/Hadeon because of the angled/asymmetrical clamp system. Went back to the Hadaly and never looked back. Wasp and Pulse are my backups in that order of preference.

Hadn't heard of the Zion. Got a feeling this squonk thing could go a lot like my other vape gear obsessive/compulsive etc.
Happy with the combo so far though. Running AVS fused Clapton at around .2 with a 510 drip tip.

The bad news is that most places are sold out on the SXK Le Supersonic, the good news (for me) is that I have two of them.

I've noticed SXK have been discontinuing their RDA's really fast recently.

I remember last year they would keep a popular line going for a good year before ending it now it's sometimes only two months!

I almost always order two of any atty I'm really interested in and in the event I don't like it I just sell the spare locally or bundle it with a mod sale.

Kinda strange really as I've never really had a decent RDA fail on me and in any case it's rarely more than a month or two before another must have RDA catches my eye so I don't know why I bother with duplicates!

Maybe my box of untouched spare SXK RDAs will be worth something one day :)

Its strange SXK are doing this discontinuing them whilst there still selling ,maybe only make X amount IDK , but noticed YFTK are making some older ones like Taifun GS and Fev v4 ,
Seem SXK are just making less now ,
Either cutting back financially or maybe they are making some Atomiser for a brand name now?
or something Hotcig started with clones then went on to making others of there own,
But SXK Are the favoured Clone makers , where as unknown YFTK popped up last year an taking over ?

I used to work in China and still do some business there, I know the company and their facilities. They are a fairly small operation and I believe they have only a few manufacturing lines (3-4) and they do OEM for other companies and products so depending on all of that they probably have somewhat limited capacity. Also, CNY just recently happened and that means no output which could mean vendors are just low or sold out for now until they receive new shipments.

Looking through their current Chinese pages I am seeing what looks like they are doing all of the new Billet Box components/mod.

Are they making them for the BilletBox in US or for their own line of boxes? It would really suck buying what it touted as a US made mod and pay the premium price for it.

Mini lathe.
Mini Mill.

Of course owning one is the easy part.
Takes some skill to use properly and consistently.
Yep, I have a mid-sized lathe that I bought to make my own mech mods, and parts for my electric bicycle (my other tinkering hobby) ... bit big for atties though but I have made a few. I haven't bought a mill yet (but under consideration) and bought a 3D printer instead.

But I'm a toolmaker by trade ...

(Yes, a couple of days late but have been a bit busy with creating my own aussie forum lately :D )

Hard to say. The truth is often probably not what people want to hear from my experience. They claim they design and manufacture in the US but usually that means that some (up to 99%) of the components are made/sourced elsewhere. For instance it could be very likely that they mill the billets in the US, but it is highly unlikely that that they are manufacturing the borosillicate tanks/seals in the US. Same for many of the standard components. It just wouldn't make sense.

I could go on for days on the subject, but most would be bored to death. Most "clones" are actually ghost runs on the same assembly lines making the real thing from the same components. Although, when there is enough money at stake, companies that are already tooled up to manufacturer similar products will snag schematics or designs and run actual clones from different/inferior materials

Just to be clear, I think those are actual clones by SXK because there isn't really a reason to doubt that they aren't milling the billets in Utah, anyone can do it and it would probably be close to the same cost to do them here vs. China and add shipping at these quantities. It is possible but not probable. But it is also equally possible/probable that *some* of the components are sourced from SXK which gave them the design specs and would allow them to clone easily.

RSQ? I reckon (I picked one up along with a GR-1 in our classies, excellent for what it is ;) )
Ohh not saying that it is a bad mod. I vape entirely with China mods :)
Just saying that more and more US vape brands are having stuff made in china with their brand on it.

So I got aDNA 40 ennequardo frame in stabwood. Put an atty on and the bloody pin was too short. Now you can manually adjust with a hex but I did not have the right size! So had to search through all my atties for ones with longer pins. Then I had to rebuild them just right for a 40 watt device. Surprisingly i got the best vape out of a maze rda. Better than the B2K or Entheon! Go figure.

That happens to be 1 of the 2 in the mail lol. What is it about the pico that everyone likes? Its been recommended many of times so I ordered it but why is it recommended so much?
It is small, I mean really small. It works well for a semi-regulated mod. Maybe doesn't hit as hard as a mech but it does a great job without the required maintenance of a mech.
