Anyone ordered from Custom Mod Creations?

I ordered a Tobeco Kayfun 4 on March 12. It was billed to my credit card immediately. The website says they ship in 1-3 days, and as of today I've had no shipping notice. I've contacted them on their website twice and not heard back, and I see no other way to contact them. Has anyone else dealt with this place?

I had seen that before it was resolved but it looks like he did eventually get what he ordered. I just would have issues with the runaround myself...

I've ordered twice, a total of 4 attys, kayfun black V4's. It's been a while, but I do remember shipping info taking too long, and I believe I emailed him. It might have been through their website, but I did get in touch with him twice, and received my orders. He's a Mod Envy sponsor, though that's not a reliable way to vet vendors, either.

You ordered a Tobeco product, so you should be good, but I've had quite a few issues with my Kayfuns. They have adjustable 510 pins that screw in with the atty, asking for a short, and jumpy ohm readings. Had to fix that with a gasket. Was kinda bummed.

Just searched my email, [email protected] is the email he responded from. See if that helps, if you don't already have it.

Yeah, I've found an unfortunate amount of dealings involving "runarounds," with vaping vendors. I've been most lucky on ebay for hardware, ironically. There are a lot of sketchy people out there who are more than willing to take your money.

Artemus does exist. Not saying what's going on is okay, I have my frustrations with his products myself, but be persistent and I'd think you'll hear back. It's no excuse, but there is Vaper Slam or whatever the big convention is this weekend. One would hope he'd announce if he was going to be away, but who knows. Good luck.

I've ordered probably 3 or 4 times from cmc. Never had any problems and got order within 2 days. But also he is local like less then 20 miles from my house. Personally I've never had any problems with items I've received from them either.

I've ordered a atty from them before, took about a week (6 days) before I got a shipping notice. I think Custom Mod Creations is a one person show.

Not surprising, he sent all of my stuff, and answered questions, but took a while one of the orders. That's why I suggested the OP be persistent. You already paid your money, usually it's a shipping label that is created and never scanned, USPS is at fault, this is on him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he responds on this thread as he's on these forums pretty regularly. If you search cmc you can find his posts. I give him credit a lot of the clones he sells are better then the originals. Plus he throws in spare parts even though its not specified. Ex., I ordered 4nine from him and it came with 4 sets of upgraded magnets.

I get that impression, too, and that sounds about how my experience went. It was just on the verge of questioning if I actually was getting anything.

Having run a one person web store, it's not easy, but it's also not difficult to be communicative, post your policies, and stick to them. If you change a policy, shipping, whatever, edit it on your site. You run out of something, first thing you do is pull it so nobody can order it. It's not easy, but it also isn't that difficult, either. Truth be told, as long as your terms are clear, and you take a moment to communicate with customers, you should run smooth. Hell, you can respond by email on your phone at the grocery store these days, if a prompt response was needed. It's called good customer service, and gets you more business.

I ordered two Kayfun v4s on Feb 13, they were marked as "in stock" at the time I ordered. I e-mailed on Feb. 25 as my order still hadn't shipped. I got a reply roughly 24 hours later stating it was because of the Chinese new year. Fair enough, but when I ordered the items were allegedly "in stock"? Didn't mention that, figured I would take the high road because I don't really NEED them, but I like to have backups. E-mailed again on Mar. 11 just asking for an update, got a reply within 24 hours this time with a tracking number. Tracking states "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS" E-mailed again yesterday asking if they only ship once, and if I am just unlucky, and don't want to be forgotten. No reply yet. This is the second order I have made from them, and will be the last. First order was a pre-order. Was supposed to ship on Jan. 5, took an e-mail two weeks later to get a tracking number. Now this order takes 5 weeks to get a tracking number that doesn't move. I'm done with this place.

Don't want to type the entire story again.. but I would advise to stay away.. I'm sure you can search out the other threads on the terrible customer service and return policies that people including myself have dealt with..

If don't care about any of that then I say go for it.. Just wouldn't spend a ton of money and I can't recommend ordering a 4nine

That sucks @dchest02 I think his kayfuns are overhyped. I loved them at first, bought four, two orders, but time has passed, and they've had more problems and require constant fiddling. My LSK Kayfun Lite clone, no +, is fine after a year. Only issue is due to the design flaws in the chimney seal, hence they updated them. My EHPRO KFL + V2 has been fine for almost a year, too. He adds some nice features, and they almost never leak, but the 510 pin sucks.

Hope you get your situation sorted.

second that - the 510 pin is terrible. and it also comes fully unscrewed so easily that I lost several of the pins (and of course he wouldn't send me replacements even when I offered to pay extra)

I ordered one back when he was ebay only. out of the box failure and lack of customer service from him, run around of how it was not put together correctly... well no fucking shit there sparky since the shit came with wonky out of line air holes.
hope he chokes on his 50 bucks from me.

Well, still no reply and it's been a week. But someone just made a shipping label (it shows up in My UPS) - does he ship from Chino, California anyone know?

When I had to ship a broken mod back to him I believe I sent it to CT.. but I could be wrong since it was last summer

Mine came from Alpharetta, GA and I was asked to return to that address as well.

ok yea that seems correct now that I think about it more.. not sure where I got CT from.. but hell I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast 2 days ago.. anyways i think people would be wise to stay away from his stuff.. I would rather pay more $ for actual customer service and knowing that I will get a quality product.. because it seems to be very touch and go with what you actually receive from him

Yup, I "fixed" mine by putting fill hole gaskets around the pin, but I have to twist it 1/4 turn or so each time I screw/unscrew it. One of them had it eventually loosen from the deck, I was lucky to be vaping on my iPV3 instead of a mech. So much for the "upgraded adjustable 510" lol.

It's been said, but Alpharetta, GA. is where my stuff was all from. I did not know he moved. He is a sponsor for Mod Envy, and does a giveaway weekly. If all else fails, you could try contacting Smokie or someone from the show. They presumably have someway of contacting him, though it sounds like he might've just decided to screw over everyone.

Hope you all get things sorted. I had to dispute a $60 charge from Vapor Kick, was at least a month of no response and no USPS updates. My bank immediately gave me my funds, all it took was a phone call. Sucks to do, but fuck it if they're screwing you over. I've still never heard anything from Vapor Kick. They still have their site up... I dont know how people get away with this shit.

I really hate seeing stuff like this, especially from someone who had a good reputation. I feel for him if there is something personal in his life that is pulling him away from his business, but at the end of the day, you have to protect your business and your reputation or it doesn't matter what is going on, you are going to end up worse off in the end.

Just make sure you all keep a close eye on your dispute deadlines.

I hate this too, and i hate that I've grown apprehensive ordering from new vendors, too. It sucks that there are the bad apples around. I agree if its something personal, ok, but really, unless he's comatose, he could post on his site whats going on and or close it until he can get going again. I say unless he's comatose, since as long as he has the ability to speak, he could instruct someone else on how to do it. Unless he just booked it, the lack of communication and lack of fulfilling orders is gonna lead to a bunch of chargebacks, which he will lose money on.

I actually talked to my credit union today about doing a charge back, but they asked me to try to contact him first. The last communication I have had with him was on the 12th when he sent the tracking number. If I don't hear anything, or see movement of my tracking number by Monday I am moving forward with the charge back.

Looking back at my bank statements, this is actually my third order from him. Second one must have been good since I didn't even recall it. It was for my first two v4s, and I ordered from him because at the time he was the only one offering the black Tobeco v4. Now everyone has black. This order was placed so I could save a whopping $9 over ordering from 101 vape. Now I feel dumb.

@TCBAmor

The only issue I've had with mine is that of the two I ordered only one of them would wick correctly. My stainless steel one worked great out if the box. The black one took drilling out the juice flow holes on the chimney and the deck to 1/16" before it would wick properly. I tried everything under the sun to get it to work (Rayon, JC, Cotton Bacon, long wick, short wick, 1.5 ohms, 1.2 ohms, .5 ohms, .7 ohms, horizontal coil, vertical coil, 70 pg/30 vg, 50/50) absolutely nothing worked. Drilled out those holes, and BOOM, wick perfectly with 50/50 juice at .75 ohms.

Yeah, mine work, they just have awful loose 510 pins. They are the Lite Black Edition V3.

Keep trying and save your emails. My chargeback with Vapor Kick came after at least a month, with multiple emails, smite messages, phone calls, and voicemails. At that point my bank just took care of me, though I haven't received the letter of it finalizing, at least I think I'll get one. I got my money, almost ran out of juice at the time from the wait, but didn't, so I can't complain. Again, good luck to you all.

I ordered a Kayfun v4 nearly a month ago and I'm still waiting for delivery. I've emailed them four times - twice they replied - but I'm just about at the point of canceling my order and getting a refund. I would say order your vaping gear from another business.

I've emailed several times - no reply. Guess I'm going to have to do a chargeback on my credit card.

I hate seeing these issues. Just thought that I'd mention that I just received some vapemail from vapenw.com yesterday. Got 2 Kayfun v4's by Tobeco for $19.99 each :)
The work great. I already had one from Cigabuy and loved it, but these are a bit nicer and the price was great. If you end up getting a refund, I'd consider them. I placed my order around 8:00 AM EST and they shipped it the same day so I'm a happy camper and feel comfortable recommending them and the Tobeco.

I've ordered from VapeNW before - they're great. Should have ordered this Kayfun from there to begin with!

@SMOKIE time for the mod father to dig in a bit considering it is a pimped mod envy sponsor.

Just to be safe I thought I should let all you know about this. Now I have absolutely no proof or way of knowing if Custom Mod Creations had anything to do with this or not but I find it very eyebrow raising that it all happens in the same few weeks. I just got notified by my credit card company that a charge had attempted to be made on my credit card for over $2000.00 today, of course Thank God it didn't go through and was caught in time. This was the SAME credit card I ordered from custom mod creation from. Now I know that doesn't mean they did it and im not accusing anyone, BUT seeing how there is so many of us that looks like are getting ripped off on our orders I cant help but suspect them. So everyone KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD CHARGES etc
