HIC - Do you think this peanut mix you produced is better tasting than the combo split of TFA and Capella's.
That one has been a good taste for me for a while now.

I love peanut butter vapes but have been trying to go easy on them since I know it has the bad stuff in it.
I can't wait for your PB pie recipe.

DeadShort, 'better tasting' is totally a matter of personal opinion. I'll tell you everything I can so you can decide whether to try it. There are a couple good reasons to give it try: it has no custard note ingredients, it requires a bit less flavoring to get the same intensity, and I'll detail the ingredients so you can totally customize it to suit yourself. The best reason to try it is that it's a mindfreak to combine these flavorings and end up with pb!

I don't have Capella's PB flavor, so I'm sorry I can't compare that.

I use to vape a lot of TFA PB, usually in recipes rather than standalone. Today I mixed TFA Peanut Butter in one tank, my PB in another for a comparison. I don't want to flavor-match it, but wanted something to compare it to that people might be familiar with. I find mine a bit creamier, a bit sweeter. I had to use about 50% more of TFA's flavor to match the overall flavor intensity. I am noticing a sour note when exhaling TFA that I never noticed before (and probably wouldn't notice if I weren't concentrating on it so carefully); mine doesn't have that. Based on flavor alone, I would choose mine over TFA. I'm really enjoying it and will write it up shortly.

HIC's HOMEVAPE PEANUT BUTTER (no 'custard note' ingredients!)
3% Acetyl Pyrazine: https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/p-6826-acetyl-pyrazine-5-pg.aspx
2% FA Caramel
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Hazelnut - measure carefully; don't go over 1%
0.75% TFA Brown Sugar Extra (optional, highly recommended to complete the peanut butter effect)
0.75% FA Coconut (optional for extra creamy richness and bigger vapor clouds)

Shake it really well, but no need to 'steep'

The 8.5% total flavoring is the flavor intensity of TFA Peanut Butter used around 12%. I am happily vaping half-strength, but I think most pb fans would prefer it as written above.

Don't go over 1% Hazelnut, even if you raise other percentages. Too much Hazelnut quickly ruins the peanut butter effect.

Vienna adds the needed vanilla background and creaminess.

Acetyl Pyrazine is the alchemy for making peanut butter - but it also adds sweetness. I was really surprised how much, because it never struck me as sweet flavor. If you want to experiment to taste the effect of AP, make the recipe without it, vape a little (it will taste less sweet and much like hazelnut), then add the AP to taste the transformation. Cool! (If you don't taste 'frito' in TFA's Peanut Butter, you won't here, either.)

Caramel and Brown Sugar add roasted-sweetness to avoid the raw/wild nut bit of Hazelnut. Brown sugar adds 'dark' notes, sort of a molasses touch, to complete the peanut flavor.

Coconut - if you vape TFA PB next to this recipe, you'll suddenly taste coconut in the TFA. I'd never noticed it before! I kept Coconut low enough here that you won't taste it, but it adds a rich 'fatty' effect that just belongs in peanut butter.

Expect a sweet peanut butter like Peter Pan, not health-food-store stuff. If you want to amp up the sweetness, avoid Meringue and try 0.5% Marshmallow instead. If you like maple or honey with real pb, you'll like it here, too - but try it as written first, because it's already pretty sweet.

Who will be the first brave mixer? You know you want to!

p.s. if you're going to be using this as pb flavoring in more complex recipes, using just the first 4 ingredients will do the job fine. Standalone, use both of the optional ingredients if possible.

All this talk of peanut butter I mixed up some pb cup and pb cookie. Underwhelmed.... I only have tfa pb, leaves a lot to be desired... Can't wait to get my FA order, only chocolate I have is FW Double Dutch, also leaving a lot to be desired... May be able to Dr up pb cookie with more pb, but considering both not so good, let down as I really wanted a good pb vape...

Your recipe sounds tasty already. But actual sorbet has no fat or dairy. It's just fruit, water, usually sugar or other sweetener, sometimes thickeners like cornstarch. The non-fruit ingredients might be better represented with Marshmallow and/or Meringue than Fresh Cream. Maybe try .5% each of Marshmallow and Meringue and skip the cream....or .25% each of all three flavorings. I'll bet the Lemon Sicily is perfect with Pineapple.
Thank you for the suggestion! I will try meringue and maybe some tfa or cap marshmallow. I still haven't got the FA version, how does it compare to other vendors?

I think FA's is a brighter, cleaner flavor with no carameliness (new word, lol). FA Marshmallow is the flavor of European marshmallow candies - those long ropes twisted together, made to be eaten plain. Non-FA marshmallow flavors have custard notes ingredients, but flavor is not massively different. If you like the one you already have, use it.

Curly, onceuponatime I loved a combo of TFA PB and FW Double Dutch Choc. Mixed 15-18%, lol. It was practically black after sitting a while in a half-vaped tank. I always preferred that FW choc over TFAs. I wonder if I still would.

That's my favorite part about it! Acetyl Pyrazine turns creamy vanilla into cheesecake, too: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-homevape-cheesecake.1952/

So if it's a big part of cheesecake and peanut butter, I'll bet it has some other undiscovered talents. I wonder if it can make good sour-cream brownies... Maybe I will use up this 3ml lifetime-supply bottle after all.

Oh, peanut-butter cheesecake - that sounds good!

Yeah didn't feel right at 15%, I did 4% that pb, 10% FW DD Chocolate. And 1% Vienna Cream to hopefully make it "silky". Didn't work... And after mixing FA recipes at 2-3% total, that felt extremely high. Ugh, can't wait to get my FA order! Most of my other flavoring just seems "subpar" anymore...

Sour Cream Brownies sound really yummy. I love playing with sour cream in recipes.

You mentioned Coconut giviing a "fatty effect". It's so funny you mention that, because I swear I noticed something along that line, even buttery, when I made the Italian Cream recipe. I was wondering if the combo of coconut with the cheesecake graham was producing that. Didn't you mention at one time that the Cheesecake Graham has like a low percentage of AP? I really can't say it's the AP causing it, but I really don't know, so thought I'd get your opinion since you mentioned it about the fatty effect. The Italian Cream does also have cookie in it...... more AP, lol.

Perplexing, mad-crazy stuff going on here, I'm tellin' ya. Gotta make PB today fo' sho'.

Abolutely! I still vape this, which was pretty much an "I'm bored, what haven't I tried yet" throw together :D

I made this with a tiny addition

2% Bilberry
2% Apple Pie
2% Custard
1% Vienna Cream (Because I was feeling decadent...:) )
Plus
0.5% Marshmallow

This tastes just like the milk left over after eating Boo Berry cereal!!!! MMMM.... BOO BERRY MILK

Hey, what's 'the Italian Cream recipe' you mentioned?

Yes, TFA's Cheesecake Graham flavoring has "<1%" of acetyl pyrazine. When I noticed that, I assume it was the graham-cracker bit. Eventually I figured out it's the "cheesy" bit instead. I always detested TFA's plain Cheesecake flavor but like the Graham version a lot. They have radically different ingredients, not like they just added a little something to turn plain cheesecake into one with a crust. I like my Homevape Cheesecake better though - with gingersnap cookies instead of graham for crust.

If you buy Acetyl Pyrazine from TFA, it's a 5% dilution. That's what I've been using. But I noticed that TFA Popcorn contains at least 10% of it (and only 1 other ingredient). Yeah, you know I'm going to play with TFA Popcorn to see if I can use it instead of the 5% acetyl pyrazine. I'm always looking for ways to minimize flavorings. Imagine a brownies recipe with 'popcorn' as an ingredient, lmao! Everyone would think I flipped. (maybe I have...vaping pb with sesame and ginger now...and it's tasting good to me)

Remember the Italian Cream (not) Cake? It's that one, but posted in the recipes here, too.

You haven't flipped. To a degree, we know your thought process and like to vape at lower flavoring % when possible. That's smart sense. And now you have a new version of Sesame Ginger Nutella!

I've also used small bits of FA Walnut in place of butter for a similar 'fatty' effect. At low percents, it adds the effect without the flavor, just like Coconut can. I'll bet you could use both to get a stronger effect without adding either flavor. Coconut, walnut, some Vienna Cream, a little acetyl pyrazine (straight or from FA Cookie or TFA Cheesecake Graham or Popcorn...) - could be the start of brownies or truffles. The richest, most chocolatey results I've gotten from FA Cocoa (Basic Cocoa Cookies) used Vienna Cream and acetyl pyrazine from the FA Cookie, and I know Walnut boosts that one, too.

I think we're all onto something! Walnut/Coconut + acetyl pyrazine + Vienna Cream = rich-creamy-buttery effect...
Now - how to use it? :) What's your richest, most buttery idea? Brownies and pie crust come to mind for me.

Oh - chocolate chip cookies! future mission... Vienna Cream for sweet-eggy-vanilla, ap in some form to help walnut/coconut make butter, cocoa and/or chocolate, TFA Brown Sugar Extra for crisp cookie edges, maybe extra vanilla. That would be a tasty project. My to-try pile keeps growing, but I gotta go do other non-vape stuff now. I'm late!

What's your richest, most buttery idea?

Buttermint

Not those little square chalky pastel after dinner mints - more like the puffy pillow-shaped yellow silky-smooth buttery slightly-minty ones that melt in your mouth. Do you think FW Peppermint would work with your new buttery discovery? I don't have it or the a.p. stuff but wouldn't mind a reason to place yet another flavor order.

I love those mints but, It'd be hard to top HIC's Heart of Andes. If you have those ingredients, give it a try. I plan to mix several things up tomorrow, so I might try it out, or play with percentages.

Thanks Huck! I did make that Heart of Andes recipe and totally forgot I had it. It was good but the nic base I had at the time was peppery and so I put all those mixes in the drawer once I got my VT nic. I'll try it again with VT since I have become a 'lil spoiled princess now and just don't want to use any other nic. You guys and gals keep posting up incredible new recipes so dang fast I'm having trouble keeping up with you. (before I added peppermint, non-vapers said it smelled strongly like cotton candy. weird!)

Aww, it's not even remotely close to buttermints. There are too many dark/cooked sugar/deep flavors competing... from ap and caramel. I added too much peppermint trying to cover it up, but it's still there.

Huck is right that Heart of Andes would be a good start. It includes 2% Peppermint, 1% Vanilla Bourbon, 1% Vienna Cream, 1% Fresh Cream, 1% Marshmallow. I'd go 1% Peppermint, 1.5% on the Vienna, 1.5% Vanilla Classic (instead of bourbon), leave the rest the same. 0.25% of Koolada for a little bit of powdered sugar 'coolth' might help, too. If it's not great buttermint, I'm sure it would be closer...and tasty in any case. If you give it a try, let us know!

Oh oops! My eye saw that as FA Peppermint. No, I wouldn't use FW's Candy Cane for buttermints. FA Peppermint's smoother creaminess would be better in this case. (you know I do love my candy canes though, lol)

It's ok....thank you for trying. I'll mix up your suggestions above for the Heart of Andes with some VT nic. It amazes me how much better stuff tastes without the 'pepper' burn. Thanks bunches for your help tonight HIC! I've been craving a commercial juice I used to buy they called Buttermint. Still gonna order the FW peppermint and get some of that a/p stuff to play with too- yummo peanut butter. Thanks! :)

I have, but not so much lately. And I have a bottle labeled "stuff" that I've poured others into, lol. It smells.... like banana! Has some banana, lots of fruits, vanillas and chocolates in it. If they weren't good after a few weeks to a month, into the bottle they went.

I got the GIANT size jug o' Orange Tic Tacs. The big problem I'll have - they're somewhat sour, especially at the center. I've (previously, repeatedly) vaped over 10% of TFA's Sour and Lorann Tart 'n Sour, and I just don't get a sour effect. Would it do any good to try matching the orange flavor and say to add that sour stuff 'to taste'? Seems like an incomplete recipe like that. I'm going to play with it a while, considering the acids available from Nude Nic to see if any of those taste sour to me. I DO taste sour if it taste a drop, just not in vapor.

Anyone have good luck with the various acids NN sells? Am I odd-guy-out for not detecting sour?
Hi ........ New guy here. I've been reading through this thread for the past few days. I know im kinda late but have you tried using Malic Acid to get the sour taste? Every time I have used Tart & Sour I get a lemon taste. Maybe its just Me?

FA Mad Fruit does sour perfectly for Orange Tic Tacs! Even I can taste the sour in that, and my pals didn't taste it any stronger than I did. I could use Lorann and TFA tart additives until they gagged, and still not get the effect myself, but FA Mad Fruit works for all of us.

I don't which acid(s) FA uses in Mad Fruit, but it doesn't matter. I'll use it whenever I need the sour effect. It makes great Sweet-Tart candies, too. A margarita recipe using it is on my to-do list.

And most importantly - welcome! :) Are you new to DIY or just to FA?
