That's what did it to me....I'd never spent that much on a single mod in fact I was kinda spooked doing it. After getting it though I've no regrets
same for me.. Closest was the IVP3 but this SX M blows anything away.... It def worth every penny spent including the gas to go get it at local B&M lolol

Gingervaper is one of the few vendors i've seen that still has the Black/Silver in stock for those looking. Along with a bunch of others over in the ECF thread i bought mine there. Free priority shipping with an option to pay with Paypal. Threw in a few juice samples as well.

Seemed like a pretty cool dude when i talked to him on the phone too. Highly recommended.

Well fuck me. Now i have to get one because you people are all so stoked.

Yeah man, i'm probably one of the biggest "hmm, maybe i should wait to see what else comes along" buyers there is when it comes to vaping stuff. At least when it comes to pricier stuff.

This is the mod worth pulling that trigger on imo.

I don't know that I would qualify as biggest, but I do buy everything in duplicate... my first big purchase was a provari2.5. I thought I would only need the one mod...hey I was just off cigs, I didn;t know this would become borderlie obsession.. well, the damn thing broke 3 weaks into its lifespan; now I buy at minimum of 2 of everything.
the second sx mini is enroute already.

@f1r3b1rd I agree. I always duplicate anything that I like. I built my sx350j into a hana clone box temporarily till I get more parts. That however has just changed after trying it out. I tried to straighten the usb connector on the board and broke the s.o.b. right off. Guess it can stay where it is now. Bonus though works fine. I never use the usb for charging anyway and can live without updates.

Still sucks dude, on the side note, I always take the batteries out to charge also. and short of them making tc work up to the 120w limit I'm not so sure I would be in any hurry to do a firmware update anyway.

Does anyone know if there is a way to switch between soft, standard, power and power plus modes with out the buttons ? I have only the fire button and am relying on the gravity sensor to navigate the menus ?

After waiting a few weeks to see what problems have cropped up on this board (amazingly none. Owners are pretty much giddy with the performance of this board and I haven't seen a single serious issue reported), I decided to get a board for my next DIY mod. Ordered yesterday so I should have it soon. Doing the initial CAD design now based on the dimensions I've seen posted online. Really excited about it. I've been using the SX350 for all the mods I've made for quite a while now and have been very happy with them, so I expect this will be every bit as reliable.

BTW, anyone looking to buy a board to make their own mod check out vaposphere.com. They have them for 71.50 and with shipping it comes out to 74.00. Cheaper than I've seen it elsewhere. I've purchased more than a few SX350 boards from them and they have always delivered quickly. Good folks.

I haven't seen this anywhere yet, but I'm hoping that I can make a mod that can be either a dual 18650 in parallel mode for 60watts or be able to switch the second battery around for a dual 18650 mod in series for 120watts. Anyone know if this is possible? I would think so since just adding the battleaxe tube and a second battery switches it to a series mod. This would be nice if I can do it.

Hey @nodor I have been all through the menu functions on my SX M and I havent seen where you can change the power modes as you spoke about anywhere but the two buttons themself :(. Hope you can find a solution because those functions are an awesome addition to the mod

Thanks @TheVapingDevil for the feedback. Having just bought the chip not the mod. I don't have a user manual. I assume that the mod comes with manual. Thus the only way I even know these modes exist is from what I've seen online. The board defaults to standard mode which seems fine for me but apparently you need to calibrate your nickel coil when you install. That is also done with the buttons I assume as nothing in the menus about calibration. It doesn't ask if new coil when I change it like the dna40 chips. The first dripper I put on it works great. When I put another build with dual coils it resistance didn't change and burnt the wick (fire). Guess I'll have to drill holes in the box to access the buttons.

Good Morning @nodor, I can feel your pain there. The modes are actually really nice to work with but as stated you do need to push the button to get them to change. At least from what I have found. Regarding resistances, I swap my three different tanks on my mod all the time. Mine has never asked about new coil like I have seen the DNA board do. One think I noticed and by reading the manual is if you push both up and down buttons (something you dont have) the mod will measure and set the resistance. I only have one tank with nickle in it now but I have noticed that by simply pressing the fire button, the display reads the resistance correctly as well without having to push both up and down buttons. I was using a kanger at .15 ohm, then swapped to my Atlantis (.5 coil) and then again my Starre tank at .25 coil. each time i put the new tank on and pressed the fire button the mod displayed the correct resistance. Now mind you, only the Kanger was Nickle and the others I put back into Power mode so I am not sure if that had any effect but thought I would give you my experience with it. Sucks that it burnt up your wick. You may have to actually get the buttons in to take full advantage of all SX features

how/where do you locate the SX350J mini chip on the vaposphere website?

I don't know but that look suspicious. I wouldn't buy anything from there. Try www.varitube.com[/QUOTE]

Varitube is a very good dealer. Just more expensive. As far as Vaposphere, they've been in the SX350 game since they came out and have a great FB group for the SX350... SX350 Modders Group. Great source of information and seeing what others are up to with modding the SX350 chips. If you're into modding with the SX350, they deserve a look.

Thanks for the info. Yes if I put 3 different resistance attys on mod (kanthal) it autoreads them no problem. However it doesn't do that with nickel builds. At least for me. So yes I am going to drill out the box to allow access to the board mounted buttons. Not going to bed till I'm done !!

So I just got in a lemo2;
I never got the first gen because, I was sidetracked with the aqua and erlkoenegin, looks like ill be selling the expensive ones, this thing is terrific, especially with a nickel build!.

If you like the aqua you'll love it with nickel, only downside is since the buikddeck is so small yo have to do 30g for spaced coils or tight 28g, for whatever reason the tight 28g dual coil works fine

Well there isn't much to see on this one. Its just a hana clone box with the "J" chip mounted in it. This is to tide me over till I get parts to build from scratch.

So last night I drilled holes in my beater hana clone box to allow access to the onboard switches. Gonna machine out some button caps at work on monday. But needed to test it so I improvised for the weekend. I used a plastic pen refill shank through the box hole and covered it with book binding tape to keep it in the hole. Works good and the board mounted switches have a nice click to them. So finally I have access to all 4 modes. Funny I think I like the standard mode best anyway. LOL The thing is now I can calibrat my nickel coil. Built a dual nickel coil on my marquis (which I bought specifically for Temp limit vaping) calibrated it with the up and down buttons. She vapes like a dream. No Fire !!! I must say this is great way to run a dripper. I typically get alot of leaking on my drippers as I tend to over fill rather than get dry hits. Now I drip more often less amount. Life is good !!!

Interested to see pics of the fitting, mounting etc.. Just in case I decide I want to build one. Can you post some please?

hey everyone...this question is aimed, not at the sx mini board, but at the battery mod itself...
does anyone know when in bypass mode, whether there is a mosfet used...
thanks in advance...

I think your question is mainly to identify what kind of switch you should use. There is not any high current going through the switches on the board so you could use pretty much anything you want. As to what circuitry they use I couldn't tell you.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a M class. I did see some other mods that are going to release soon with the board but I have yet to hear anything bad about the SX M and have actually heard the build level being compared to Provari so what the hell. I guess I will see for myself shortly.

Thanks man I hope it gets here quick. I have almost pulled the trigger a couple times over the last couple weeks and then it seemed like stock got low for a minute for some color options. I went with the black and silver.
Looking forward to comparing it to the dna 40.

I was vaping it side by side with my dna40 and it blows the DNA out of the water in every category.
I still use my vaporshark only because of its size and at work it fits in my shirt pocket but that's its only use now.

I honestly don't know for sure, I haven't seen a schematic on the board yet. I would think that it does. I say that only because to have a board like this without one would be a HUGE oversight.

The fire button on the board is a small surface mounted switch that wouldn't handle much current at all. It would melt. That being said, there definately has to be circuitry that handles the power to the atty. Whether or not it is a mosfet or not is pretty much irrelavant. It definately performs the same function. Bottom line the fire button does not see the current that is delivered to the coil.

It's a digital switch that just activates the current control circuit.

Just looked through the manual and in the manual it says nothing about what protections are still there on bypass mode.

i know..thats what triggered my initial inquiry...
theres even arguments going on as to whether 20 amp or 25 amp batteries are required by yihi for the unit...
drama is everywhere, misinformation is everywhere, this forum has been straight up for my inquiries most of the time...

Well, I know that busardo guy should have his review up this weak and hopefully alot of the assumptions on it will be made straight. I'm running vtc4s in mine so I'm not so worried about the battery hooha, and doubt ill ever use bypass mode, but I'm curious to see. I would hope yihi would keep some protections active I just hate to mispeak.

Taken off of their spec sheet. As always if your concerned use the largest of the two you stated of 25a.
upload_2015-4-19_21-37-11.png

There are no footnotes to indicate any change in any of the protections so I assume they are all present regardless of what mode your in.

I'm suprised he didn't cum all over the Evolv board lol I'm sorry but he's very biased even if he says he isn't.

He's gotten a little better... A little,as in more open to things outside of his RTA/13w vapestyle.
I just take out the information that's make or break for me and what I look for in a piece of gear.
But, he definitely shows his, undying, erogenous love For anything thats from prorape or evolv.

At least ive accepted that already. Knowing how much is on this board and how many tangential points for him they are, I would be shocked if its not. Lmao
