RP, is it horrible or just not what you wanted?

CaFF has a point there, you could be Rocket Kitten now :p

Isn't there a way to strip color?
It hilariously horrible. I'll send ya a pic.

Burritos are a necessary part of the equation.

Agreed.

Irony, I intended to make up some taquitos for freezing today. Got the white corn torts and all ready to go...
But, it's like 98F now and as-is I've had the AC on since 8AM. Can't afford to heat the house up

Drat.

@CaFF, are you in the SW? I thought I remembered you saying Washington State. I didn't realize it got that hot there.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't cook either. You need something like a watermelon/feta/mint salad for dinner.

Naw, not the SW of WA, it's like 106 there. ;)

I'm in eastern WA, which is getting slammed with heat ATM.

I lived in central coastal Florida, bay area, for 10 years. I took many cold showers at night. I don't miss the heat at all.

How I'm keeping the computer cool...a 4" "turbo" fan aimed at it. It's got a great HSF and lots of extra fans, but room temp is just too high to keep it all enclosed. This way, GPU/CPU temps are around 43C.

Mostly, it's the HDD's that get super-hot otherwise. The PSU has a nice big fan, the EVGA 560ti-FPB has good cooling and an app to control it, plus my LOKI CPU HSF works very well.

But, I have 3 hard drives and they get a bit warm.

Here's what I found on a Google search for stripping hair dye:

1) Make a paste out of Vitamin C tablets. If you dyed your hair a darker color with a semi-permanent dye (claims to wash out in 28 shampoos), make a thick paste of crushed Vitamin C tablets and water. Apply the paste to your damp hair and rest an hour before washing out. This will remove most of the color if applied within a few days of the dying - You will not need to re-color your hair, the paste is non-damaging.

2) There are color removers like Color Zap that will make your hair the color that it is naturally, as well as Color Removers that will gently make your hair colorless, or bleach blonde.

3) Purchase some dandruff shampoo such as Head & Shoulders or Original Formula Prell. Dandruff shampoo is a little more heavy-duty than normal shampoo; people with dandruff have excess sebum that causes the skin to flake off, necessitating a stronger formula. Buy some baking soda. Baking powder will not work. Baking soda is a natural (although not strong) bleaching agent. Mix them together and wash your hair several times, if necessary. If you can't buy baking soda, you can just try plain dandruff shampoo. Often, the act of washing your hair will help remove the dye from your hair, especially if the dye is semi-permanent.

a can of pepsi will do it too.. even after it is dried..:p

How to know it's really too damn hot out:

  1. It's too hot to cook, but also it's too hot to leave the house. You are doomed.
  2. The cat is lying on the kitchen floor spread out like melted butter and won't move for anything.
  3. Fans become less of a cooling device and more of a Bellows for the furnace you're in.
  4. You fill a glass of ice and water. When you arrive back in your room, you just have water.
  5. The birds stopped flying and the air smells like KFC.

seriously? You've tried this?

yeps.. takes 2 cans.. and then you need a hot oil treatment, but it will strip out color from your hair..
leave it in anywhere from 15 to 30 min

it also can take paint off your car..;)

Haha!!! ;)

Just ran across this, thought I'd share....

Ever eat an Heirloom tomato VS a store-bought hot house tomato? Then, you understand.

Monsanto are freaking demon spawn. Hate hate hate them. I had farmers in the family (granddaddy and uncles on both sides) and the stories I can tell. Bastards. /rant

I'm sorry your hair didn't turn out RP! I had so many 'moments' like that I just pay someone now. Just had mine done today. I get a lot of gray by my temples. Good for distinguished gentlemen but for me? Oh hell to the no!

It only got up to 95 here today. Sounds bad but the humidity wasn't so high. @CaFF - I spent a summer and autumn at Fairchild AFB. That's near you isn't it? It was soooo hot with no hope of a breeze. I never really appreciated our ocean breezes until then.

I stopped by that new vape store today. They were really nice!!! Not douchey at all. I tasted a few e-liquids I've been wanting to try (hype) but not enough to buy. OK, Suicide Bunny's Mother's Milk? I don't get the hype. The milk part was buttery and the strawberry was dull. They had some Five Pawns too. I tried the Queenside- blood orange and french vanilla. Honest to dog it tasted just like Mother's Milk. lol I did end up getting my son Grandmaster, peanut butter and banana, for his birthday Saturday. Not bad but not for me. He'll like it.

yes, big supporter of our farmer's market here too.. Mom and Pop's.. totally cool people!
Glass.. I don't get the hype about them either.. I do admire the marketing strategies tho..
I don't buy juice often.. I got burnt too many times.. I have to give a shout out to MBV tho..
without them, I wouldn't have had that "push" to play with the flavors and make new friends.. :)

Yeah, it really sucks for sleeping and the electric bill. I'm running the AC (on low, but ugh) from about 8AM until 10-11PM just to keep it under 80F in the house. Plus, a bunch of fans to direct the cooler air around.

Here's a good resource: http://www.wsdot.com/traffic/weather/
Same boat here @CaFF. I t got above 100 today at the house in SV. I know the TriCities got hotter than that! I don't think that many outside Eastern Washington realize that from the Cascades to the Idaho border, Washington is mostly a scrub land dessert.

FA Amber and FA Oakwood do a great job of that. Amber adds warmth and a slightly-fermented effect (best description I can come up with). Oakwood makes it barrel-aged. Different combinations can give you sweet cider, hard cider, anything in between. Sounds like you already have the spices.
HIC - thank you for that clarification. I think the oakwood is what i'm looking for. As much as I love hard cider I'd want something nearly identical to redd's apple ale, and my wallet would tank me.

I'm so sorry about your hair mishap, Rocket! I know how I freak with mine sometimes. Wayyyyy back when I used to get perms all the time, someone told me to stay away from the "P's" or it would wash it out. Pert, Prell.... one bad perm and you try and find out for yourself. It worked! Loosened up the curls a lot. I hope you figure it out so that you're happy with your hair. We ladies know!

Flowerpots, that was great info and really interesting to read.

I have an extra blanket on tonight here CaFF - its 60 out now, and due to end up in the low 50s by 7am. I'm absolutely okay with this weather here, as my favorite thought is "no boob sweat". Though its 62 and 100% humidity at midnight and not actually raining...*shrugs* Indiana.

Hey Pots, did you ever complete your singles testing? Care to share the results?

I will be testing flavors for a LONG ass time. I'm on #3 or #4 batch now, of about 8-10 flavors per batch.

Right now doing mostly TFA, a few CAP and LA/LAN.

I few duds - LA Guava, TFA Boysenberry, TFA Apple Tart (Granny Smith)

In regards to the hair thing...you guys are funny. It's horrendous, don't get me wrong, but I'm not too worried. I'm just new at this stuff. I wouldn't care if I didn't have to deal with new teens next week.

I can't believe it's freakin' 65 degrees here right now. This is normally our hottest time of year. Last year was in the 100's. Sooo humid, too. Last couple days has been incredible. I always take my breaks and lunch outdoors, gab, vape, check in here.... it's been nice out!

OK I come bearing a question. I need er well no I want...like no more than 20-25 10ml bottles for mixing test flavors in, I'm on a shoestring budget, I have amazon credits, and some $ on my paypal card, mostly I'd like to send tester bottles to friends as I know what tastes good to me, but not to others. Suggestions? I don't have a need for 100 5 or 10ml bottles, and mostly I don't have the $ for it right now. Anyone have a good source that isn't horrible quality or in China?

At the moment - south central Indiana. Warning it can go from 57 to 104 in a day and you'll hate yourself for moving here. Its not the heat its the breathing through mud feeling when it gets to be sauna temps.

I think adults are much more critical, but the criticism is said under hushed voices. Teenagers are very critical too, but they're more vocal.
