i bet your right since the coils are almost IDENTICAL except in height.

now i just loaded the ni200 coil

first thing I noticed was the fact theres no ohm fluctuation. On my maganus and STM it takes several tries, removing the coil and putting it back in, etc etc to get the devices to read the right resistance. not with the crown. first try it said .162, 10 tries later and some fiddling and it read .162 every time.

SO thats a major plus for the crown

started it at 50j what a mistake. the second the vape hit my tongue it was NASTY almost burnt tasting. Dropped to 10j and took a drag. NOthing really coming out, which I expected. But then My 3li said too hot for like 1 minute before I couls use it again. Ive never had that happen before. SO that concerns me, but could just be a fluke.
20J got some vapor and flavor. but the flavor was off. moved to 30j more flavor and vapor but it was still off, almost had a rubber like taste to it. I noticed the same taste on both SS coils for a several draws as well. I am up to 40J now. And the flavor is still rubber tasting but that is starting to go away like it did with the SS. Now moved to 50J .

So far my initial reaction to flavor comparison is this.
The crown is on my 3li
the maganus is on the d2
both at 50J and 572F
same flavor from same bottle
HIc's 3MM

I feel Im getting different flavors standing out between the 2 tanks.

The maganus is SWEETER
the crown is smooth and less metallic and the AP seems to be standing out much more

Ill go through a tank or so and see if it changes. Maybe these coils need broken in or osmething
I needed a solid half tank before that nasty taste went away on the ni200. A good tank before it tasted really good. I was pretty concerned at first. All good after the first tank. Say two if you want to rule it out.

well i ran my first full tank full through the ni200 coil.

After the first half tank the flavor settled in and on par....maybe a hair nicer than the maganus. It was a bit smoother.

but the coil is dry amd it wont hit temp protection. iv taken 10 nice dry hits off it
held the fire button down for 10 seconds 4 times.

this is on my 3li and I know it will temp limit the maganus fine..it might miss it by a hit or 2
and it does ok on the stm
usually hits TP about 5 hits later then I would want it to.

So I am baffled why this coil wont hit TP.

Anyone else use the ni200 coil and have this isuue?

Nope...but I really don't like nickel much..
Tried the ni200 that came with it and definitely liked the SS coils alot better...

I'm not getting it. What do you mean you have done 10 dry hits and no temp limit?
using the ni200 coil in TC mode
i took 10 dry hits in a row once the coil was dry. plus was able to hold the fire button in for 10 seconds about 4 times in a row and it never once said dry coil.

Now normally after the first dry hit I would stop and refill, but I was experimenting and testing this coil out.

The question is really are we talking about a dry tank or dry coil. It happened to me before where the tank was bone dry but the coil kept going for awhile because the cotton held so much juice. It was a bit dry but eventually my sig 75 detected no juice and shut it down.

well there is that, I have that happen plenty.

This was more of.
the tank is bone dry
the coil looks bone dry.
yes im sure there is a little juice still in the cotton, but not enough

10 hits straight were dry hits.

plus then I could just hold the fire button down over and over and still no dry coil message.

its weird.

because this is the same exact coil in the maganus.
same cotton pads
just a slightly different shape.

I have little issue using the maganus in TC in terms of dry hits and hitting dry coil.

SO I am confuzzled on this one.

i will say this as I suspected, the crown with a ni200 coil is almost identical in flavor vapor etc as a maganus with a ni200 coil

I also am suspecting that different flavors seem to work better on SS
I noticed my peach mango is more flavorful on the SS vs the ni200 while the 3MM ( a chocolate) tastes about the same between the coils.

I feel this crown is a great tank. Theres certain things I do not like:
the fact the juice and power consumption for the amount of flavor it provides is a bit high compared to a maganus. Meaning I feel I can get very similar taste with the Maganus using less juice and power.

But overall the crown is a league above a STM in terms of flavor, build quality etc.
I would say its at the top of the spectrum in terms of tanks, but I have to say the maganus/starre is right there with it in many regards. If there were DVC SS coils available for the maganus, I think the two tanks would be virtually identical

Ok... if you had to choose between an Aspire Triton or a Starre Pro which would it be? Go!

Stare Pro no question and never owned a triton, i dont need to. Starre pro/normal starre/maganus/maganus NI model all teh same tank and coil......they can keep up with the crown. The crown may be better for some people, but the maganus/starre tanks are very similar...in fact if they put out dual VC SS coils, I think it would be hard to tell the difference between the starre and crown

now that I have a crown
a couple questions

1. what kinda of life span are others getting on these SS coils, are you cleaning them to make them last longer
2. Anyone else notice that after you take a draw on these, and let the mod and tank sit, for a good minute or more some vapor just drifts out of the drip tip?

I think life span should be measured in mls vaped vs days. I have found in many cases people state a month or so off of coil XYZ. When I tried that coil it may have been a week. Come to find out my 30 ml a day equally 6 of their 5 ml a day so we need to be careful with that. As stated I am around 30 ml a day now give or take. I am finding that in the past with most other non crown stock coils I would get about 4 days maybe 6 depending. With the crown I am getting a good 12 to 14 days off of a .25 coil. Now the coil does look like total crap and all junked up ( I vape a heavy custard base juice so thats part of it) but neither the flavor or cloud production has diminished
i too get the vaping chimney after taking a hit. I think it is because it creates so much vapor, one cant possibly get it all. This only happens to me when I am vaping over 60 watts. I did not experience this on the 1.2 at 30 watts.

ok so your getting about 2 weeks off a coil
you vape over double the amount i do in a day, so a month...good to know. I was getting 2-3 weeks or so from a kanger or maganus coil.

See the vaping chimney as you put it concerns me.

Not for safety or anything. But if its putting out more vapor then I can take in, its using more liquid and wasting liquid.

I would love to get the damn stock SS coils in a magnus just to see if they work identically in that setup, or if theres something else going on with airflow etc in the crown.
But it dont matter, both put out a great flavor. I prefer the maganus for darker vapes like chocolate, the SS coils really make my peach/mango cream flavor even more outstanding. I just need to find the right coil, .25 or .5 and the right wattage for efficiency. ie max flavor with least juice and battery consumption

stop spying on me!!!!!!!

im on the.5 at 55w started the day at 65 and lowered it a little bit here and there to see if the flavor stayed the same. BUt I still get a slight vape chimney so I may drop another watt or 3 and see

Heat input is heat input. Letting off the fire button and stop inhaling does not mean the atomizer has cooled enough to stop producing vapor. It's not a flaw, it's physics. Let off the button sooner and cool the coil. The more heat we are using, and the bigger air flow just makes it more noticeable. There is nothing magical about other tanks that prevent this. Physics.

if that is the cause of the vaping chimney i ca not argue your logic and facts

I dont normally vape over 50 watts
hell till i got the d2 i didnt vape over 25

so that may be all this is

my mind was wondering to vapor getting stuck in the airflow chimney, and that was the issue.

Chimney effect is simply heat rising. In any column, the weight of the colder denser fluid/vapor on the outside is heavier than the less dense fluid inside. Difference in pressure cause flow. Whala. If you block flow, and stop adding heat, eventually the temp equalizer and so does pressure. Vapor condenses to liquid. No more vapor.

Or drawing air through cools coils and no more vapor is produced. All clear.

So the USPS released my crown tank today, started with ni200 coil, wasn't a fan, wasn't getting a lot of vapor, vaped at 450F and started at 30 watts and went all the way to 50 watts and not a lot of difference, but was also getting a throat hit from it.

Decided to try the RBA instead, and so far I am really liking that, got a 26/32 clapton coil on it, and vaping great at 40 watts, no dry hits and the flavor is REALLY good.

Saw a video where to do a 'S' wick to stop leaking when filling, and did a test fill and did leak, so rewicked and just did the same as my subtank mini's and just have the cotton touching the deck, just covering the juice channels, tank was full, so not got to test refilling yet, but with the flavor from it, I will keep working with it even if does leak.

As far as the TFV4 and crown with the RBA's, the crown wins hands down for flavor.

I still kept the coil, but I'm not huge on TC anyway, got into clapton coils a week ago and loving the flavor from them, so I might try the ni200 coil again, but really digging the flavor from the RBA now :)

No I haven't, I buy these subtanks, but only if have a RBA head, as I don't like to be tied down to buying pre-made coils, and I am a MTL vapor, seems these stock coils are really made for lung hitters mostly.

Not saying I won't try the ss coils, but was more interested in trying the RBA head, just was curious about the ni200 coil though.

What gauge ss are you using in the RBA (and for those of you who have the billow V2)? I have some in a cart, but I don't think I need 24, 26, and 28 gauge?

I tried 24 in my billows twice. Both times epic fails. Shorted out to the inner chimney. Going to have to try my 26 tmwr

yeah
my crown is dry hitting too much with this SS coil
I had a few drops of juice still in the tank, and the coil looked wet, but it was giving me dry hits.

It seems to be getting worse.

The ni200 is giving me dry hits when the tank gets empty. theres just not enough suction to draw the juice all the way throw the cotton to the coil when the tank is super low. Im not liking this cotton, it looks like the same stuff in maganus coils and I dont have thes eissues with maganus coils
so im so confused and very disappointed with the crown.

going to see if I can get some dvc TI and SS coils for teh maganus custom made

they ame with teh tanjk, so if the coils are fake so is the tank.

like i said i think the ss coils do give a slighly better flavor then the maganus kanthal and ni coils
but the wicking is better in the magnus coils and the maganus coils dont have a break in time like the crowns

otherwise the crown is the maganus in terms of airflow and build quality

i prefer the feel and the stop bar of the maganus AFC over the crown.

Im hoping i can get these ti and ss coils for the maganus

I haven't had any issues with the ones I bought from there!

Definitely try the pin trick. Take a small pin, poke twice in each wicking hole, and 4 times around the top.
