Got my $800 clothes dryer all hooked up with new vent flapper hood and alum vent tube.
Seems to work fine.
Got a hole dug for the footer for the bottom end of ramp dug. This is where it ties into the side walk.
Have to go get some concrete tomorrow and drill a few hols in the side of the sidewalk and poke soe rebar back in them to mechanically level bond the new piece of concrete to the sidewalk.
also need to get one of those tools to round over the edge of the concrete.
Have all the other tools I need to work it.
Well a new back tool would help though...
Will get the kids at lowes to load the concrete in my trailer and will shovel from bags into the mixer which will be positioned to dump straight into work area.
Old and decrepit, must work smarter.

This needs to be explored in more detail, they added.
Non-meat proteins such as vegetables, dairy, and legumes, including beans, show the best cholesterol benefit, according to the new study published Tuesday in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Took the SIL out shopping today.
Wife went with and of course we ate out....
Anyway somehow we owed the SIL $39 for some deal the wife and SIL had going.
Anyway I said I would pay for the meal to pay off some of the debt to the SIL.
Came to $32 for the meal. Still owed the SIL $7.
so she went in shopping and came back out with a box of Ridx for us and said now we were even...
???
She paid for the RidX. And not sure why Ridx but she seems to have a thing about it.
She keeps giving me RidX must have 5 boxes of it...

Life is strange around here....

83 degrees at 60% RH and I spent the whole day mowing my way through deep grass that should have been cut weeks ago (yeah, back when it was still raining daily). But I am still alive, so the day couldn't have been all that bad. :) Only small amounts of blood running down my arms. Ya gotta love those plum thorns.

Should have shut my mouth about the nice weather, it may have been 10-20 degrees cooler than normal again tomorrow if I hadn't mentioned anything.....BUT NO.....it's coming now.....:cry:

Only thing that kept me alive in FL was that I worked in a very air conditioned data center.
And my house had a massive AC and a pool to fall into after mowing the yard and such.
Still sucked though.

The nasty wild plum trees are covered in spikes anywhere from an inch to about three inches long. Perhaps the gawds gave the plum trees some sort of protection from predators, but for me, if I mow too close to those trees, they usually manage to rip holes in my arms, scratch the paint off my mower, and/or rip my shirts.

Then after a brief DOWNPOUR the sun would make a final appearance before dark, get things really cooking with that 90-100% humidity. Damn, I have no idea how anyone working outside can survive...gotta be tough as nails or dumb as a rock.

Is this where everyone hangs at?

the heat has been absolutely brutal down here in Central Fl over the past week
the outside thermometer has gotten to 102 or 103 for the last 5 or 6 days.

HOLY SHIT...wasn't ever that warm when I was there, BUT it did feel like 202-203F when it was in the 90's.....

This is kind of a late night hangout for a few of us. Lucy is often on here.

Yea, I don't know what is going on.
The weather man says it's like 94 but the outside thermometer at my house gets up much higher.
It remembers the highest it gets to during that day.
today was 102
Of course that was in direct sunlight at the absolute hottest point of the day.

The "official" temperature is always taken in the shade, so those who have their sensor in the sun will likely be 10-20 degrees higher (depends on cloud cover) than what the weather dude says. My sensor is on the north side of my house with a perforated box around it so rain and snow cannot land on the sensor. Many of the thermometers we all see when driving through towns are in error too because their sensors are above a parking lot (asphalt or concrete reflects too much heat). An "official" free-air temperature should be taken about 5 feet above grass-covered ground. Just FYI... :grumpy:

Dale, our wild plums have fruit about the size of a grape tomato (or a Concord grape, LOL!), and like Rich said, they mature to a purple with white bloom. They're "sour," meaning very astringent, unless fully ripe. I can only eat the dark purple ones, and oh, they are delicious, but the other ones make good jam. Rich likes them at any stage of ripeness, but there's no accounting for taste. ;) He's a sourpuss already, so the plums don't seem to bother him. :teehee:

I tried to read that article you linked, but so many ads kept popping up, I couldn't finish it, so I'm not sure which type we have, but yeah, the thorns are long and very strong, and if you drive over one with an air-filled tire, the air quickly vacates the tire. They are nasty sharp! If you've ever seen an acacia branch (locally known in Africa as "wait-a-bit-thorn"), they're similar, but the plum thorns are more sparsely spaced on the branches than the acacia, and a little bit shorter. They're still wicked, though. Imagine a branch covered in sharp little finishing nails...
