Nice sentiment, but not practical or reasonable to implement. After all, the same vendors who gets a complaint, typically also has customers who are delighted with their products and services. We've provided plenty of space here at VU for vapers to share their concerns and bad experiences with others. The admin team can't possibly have personal experience with every vendor out there (heck, I WISH I had that kind of vape budget!), so it comes down to hearsay, which won't win a court case, nor will it cause VU to blacklist a vendor from advertising. That would be unfair and give a handful of complainers (be they justified or simply disruptive) unreasonable power over people's businesses and livelihoods. Better to let the community have free open discussion. The truth will surface.
Easy there tiger. While I sympathize with your concerns,
@617vapor,
@SMOKIE and I can't personally get involved in every deal gone bad that happens in the vape community, and I'm sure you can understand that. Smokie's initial suggestion to you is absolutely valid.... try to contact the vendor. You did. To no avail. That bodes poorly for the vendor, obviously! However, just because Smokie and I expressed our favor for the device, doesn't make us the official ombudsmen for disputes between customers and
@Artisan Vaping. That doesn't mean Smokie doesn't love this community, nor that he's playing dumb. It means he can't personally take up every issue everyone has with a vendor. Heaven knows he acts out of the goodness of his heart as a mediator in plenty of cases already.
As for myself, you're sadly misinformed. You say you "know for a fact that (I) am friends with them". I don't know what your source is, but you need to check it, and stop spreading misinformation. The extent of my interaction with
@Artisan Vaping was gratefully accepting a device that was offered to me in order that I should try it and share my thoughts. To this day, I'm pleased with the device. It's well-made, performs nicely and is a pleasure to use. I am saddened to hear, however, that customer relations have been suffering. As for the banning, the moderators at Nova don't ban unless someone is being disruptive or abusive during a show. Was Artisan Vaping appearing on the show? No? Then it's really beyond the scope of what can be expected of the current hosts to demand we solve customers' personal issues -- during a live broadcast no less! -- between parties we have no control or authority over. It's a little like barging into a neighbor's extended family barbeque to complain about a malfunctioning lawnmower you bought because he said he liked his identical model. While he may completely sympathize with you, there's not a lot he can do about it, and it's not reasonable to put it on him especially at that inopportune time.
Furthermore, there's a vast difference between playing dumb and simply choosing not to comment rashly on a situation you're not fully up to speed on. Considering that was the first time I'd heard of issues with Artisan, I wasn't about to start shooting from the hip without any knowledge of the situation. Wrong time, wrong place.
@VapedCrusader , I have contacted the owner of
@Artisan Vaping directly about this issue in general, and I hope to hear back from him soon. At this time, I have no knowledge of the problem other than what this thread has afforded me. My wish is that the issues can be addressed and solved, and that the reputation of this vendor can be salvaged. Time will tell.
