I've been vaping for about a year, never had any significant problems. Last night, I fired my mod (Smok R200, firing on 70 watts) for a few seconds without hitting it. I noticed a weird smell but didn't think anything of it. This morning, when getting out my battery to charge it, I noticed that the positive end of the battery was burned.
Most of the burn is on the white coating, and only a tiny bit of the top metal is burned. My instinct is to throw the battery out but I don't want to assume there's a huge problem if this is mostly safe. I'm out of the country right now and can't get new batteries for about a week - should I be safe vaping at a low wattage in the meantime?
Thanks, picture below.
Edit: I should note that I hit it this morning a few times before realizing there was a problem, and it seemed to work fine.
