I gotcha ya, You need the wire held in a Vise if the wire is vertically spined (The ribbon edges sticking up and down not across) and use a pair of nylon tipped pliers to pull it around a screwdriver/similar, depending on how many ribbon pieces will determine how hard its going to be to wrap it....One of the few reasons I hate ribbon....No, I already made the wire. How do I coil it without it getting all twisted while coiling? That's what happened last time I tried this.
Try 4 Layers, You dont need a thick (Top to Bottom) wire unless you just want a high wattage build only, use 3-4 strips instead and it will wrap much easier with less chance of any warping and you will get the same experience as the surface area is what matters....It's 0.8mm, 6 layers, so horizontal would be best.
What about the 6 layer wire I made? I'm cheap and don't want to waste it.Try 4 Layers
It will force itself to warp or break, or break what your wrapping it on/with...I'm thinking I should push the wire around the spindle, as opposed to pulling it with pliers. That way the stacks will stay dynamic as they coil.
Your not going to be happy but its like that 3ft wire length I made by hand...2.5 hours of time and I couldnt coil it becuase of it warping and breaking...Use it as a show piece...What about the 6 layer wire I made? I'm cheap and don't want to waste it.

Yes, yes it is. Usually they are Framed Staples but you dont have the Frames in place, so a Staple it is.I mean, technically, isn't this just a staple wire?
You and me both bud, I did try to warn you though...If you plan on retrying it use 2-4 wraps instead and make it a horizontal layout, then wrap it...you will find that its easier but I am telling you it isnt worth the effort, the build with ribbon is only a show build it isnt as good as the builds we have been doing...thats why you dont see me posting any lately.Well, that sucked.
I fuckin' hate ribbon.
Nice!! It's a delicious build, incredibly popular for a reason!Ohay, so I gave it another go today.
6x0.5, framed with 26g, Claptoned with 38g.
Ended up with about 5 inches of usable wire, due to a measuring error. I wanted about 8 inches.
NICE! Now lets see if it wraps or does what the last length did...Ohay, so I gave it another go today.

I think it has alot to due with getting more used to .3 and .4 Ribbon wire, before I would use .5/.6/.8 and that makes almost everything a nightmare to manipulate!
Hehehe
I light of your incredible advancements over the last few months, I thought I'd post this for fun.
