Hey Ray...when using 3 cores for aliens how do you keep the alien wrap from creating that sort of "triangle" wrap around the cores?

Matt
Its how far you stretch the outer wrap so it lays perfectly flat on the cores, and the make sure the cores are all flat when you coil them. Usually its because your not stretching the outer wrap far enough that makes that happen.

Gocha, thanks.

Still having trouble with keeping the cores flat --- even with paperclips.
I tied them flat with 38g and it seemed alright...

So, I was curious today about Staged fused claptons, well I did it, still no macro camera so this will have to do. I got my new Avocado which I'm loving, gets a bit warm with these crazy builds though. 26gK/40gk fused clapton w/24g SS staging.

Messed around tonight and made something pretty cool...

4x34G N80 with 38 N80 wrapped on it. Staged with 26G Kanthal to get the resistance down.. .41 ohms. Didn't know what to expect with the micros, but used 4 strands for the cores to ensure they wrapped like a single smaller gauge wire.

Great flavor out of these guys. Will have to see how ramp up is with the noisy cricket.

Smoked then chewed then smoked AND chewed the last 8 years before I quit. That chew's a BITCH to quit. I'd been off both
for 23yrs before I picked up vaping (0 nic) 4yrs ago as a Hobby I guess. Kinda weird I know, but whatever.???

Shit, I was just finally able to do my first 40g alien. I don't think that physics would allow a 54g!
Exactly my point though, I have yet to see a Alien made with wire above 44g and that is damn impressive, anything higher I would consider the best in the biz.

I got the VCMT from VaporCarp in and threw it together!
20160206_110048.jpg

Im using it Kennedy Style right now:
20160206_130234.jpg20160206_130257.jpg

The real difference between this and the Griffin is the build room is slightly smaller but it holds much more juice, its also 25mm and the Griffin is 22mm...I prefer the Griffin but I still like the VCMT 25mm..

Might want to remove that o-ring though so it doesn't drop down onto your coil.

After seeing everyone's crazy nice builds, I decided to try something new (for me) as I've only been building for a little over a month.

Fused 26k/34N80
6 wraps 2.5mm
0.23ohm

Super happy with vapor production and flavor is amazing!!
Thanks to everyone for the inspiration! There is work to be done for sure, but I couldn't be happier!

10x0.4mm ribbon framed with 28g, alien Claptoned with 46g. Maybe with a little practice...

WOW not bad bro, a few more tries and Im sure you'll have it down, for a first try with something soooo thin thats pretty amazing..
3x28g with 46g wrap would be pretty good for almost any type of RTA/RDA, its making them is the problem..

HOLD THE SPOOL! Dont hold the Ribbon and you wont have any issues when using it as wrap, thats how people get hurt with it.

I used 32 to bunch the ribbon cores then 32 to hold the frames.
32 is the smallest wire I have till taxes come in as my vape budget nosedive with my last flavor order

Okay, that makes sense. 32g is a little big to be able to get a decent hold on the frames and keep them in place. You probably would have had a pretty good coil with the right wire to secure it. I usually use 38g. It's a bit of a PITA, but you can always use masking tape if you have to.

I was using 36 to hold them tight and 34 to Clapton until I ran out on a 24/34 Clapton in the cube rda and to keep this on track here

Been having fun with staged as well. Starting to understand the qualities, It's a bit much for what I put it in (doesn't wick fast enough) but it's a beautiful build and has great qualities. I'll revisit it when my Griffin comes in.

It will wick fine as long as you follow my wicking tut, Ive had straight VG with Nic added in it when I ran out of juice and not a hint of dry hits. This isnt your Grandma's RTA, this is a Raymo Certified RTA ;). It will handle anything you can build, it will hold bigger coils then almost any 22mm RDA and EVERY 22mm RTA, and it is easier to wick then the Crius. Make sure to PM me when it arrives so I can show you how to wick it so you'll know how to from now on, once you got it you wont ever have an issue.
This RTA Eats Velocity & Twisted Messes RDA's and shits out Aromamizers and Crius's....Its the best designed, engineered and executed RTA so far.

Awesome, cannot wait. I have been seeing it in the thread for a bit now... At a certain point I kicked myself and said I need one. I don't have but one tank, the crown. But that horrific RBA deck left me without one again. I can't wait to get this puppy, out on the go all day and always dripping sucks. Thanks Ray!

Brattvapes and to Anyone else here interested in the Griffin I HIGHLY suggest you check out and read through this thread, this is the thread Ive posted most of my info and comparisons and more on. Many other members have posted their experiences switching to the Griffin and how they have come to enjoy it. There are build pics and tuts and more within the thread for the Griffin and if you got an issue its already been answered there, also compared to other threads like this about other tanks...you dont see any real complaints from the owners....its because this tank does not have any downfalls or flaws. Im pretty surprised more people havent jumped on this RTA yet, I think its because the Crius and the Aromamizer blew up and were found by most to be dogshit like I did..

I tacked on some of their juices too just to try, but the Lime Skittles(turtles) was surprisingly awesome, and the Strawberry Banana (star fish) was good as well, so I grabbed the others this time. Anyways, nice vendor with free shipping on mods/atomizers and close to me.

So, you're sayin' you like the Griffin?
Thank you for noticing...some people just dont seem to clue in...
Im gushing, I understand that...but its the fact that people arent picking up on that is the issue when I know if they did get it they wont be disappointed like with most of their previous purchases. I keep getting asked "how is it better?" and I have posted why, and proved many times over that it will do what you want out of a RDA just with a tank hidden inside.
I cringe when someone asks "Which RTA?" and I tell them to get the Griffin and I explain Ive owned every RTA to date, they all have flaws and have gotten shelved for their own reasons. Ive failed to fault the Griffin, yet someone else always speaks up about a fucking Crius or Goblin Mini, or the Aromamizer and then the fucking kid buys it and then posts he hates it soon after....
That Fuckin kid!!!
He should of listened to the person who has tried them and not someone that saw something he thinks he wants...

INFURIATING!

So.....i decided to enter a build comp tonight at Flawless Vapors down in Miami. I have never competed before, and i gotta say it was pretty freakin' intense!! First prize was $2000, second was $500, and 3rd place was $100 credit at the shop. I placed 4th hahaha. 3 rounds, 20 minutes each. First round was staggered fused claptons. They changed some of the rules on the spot, we were only to use the wire they provide, so i left all my wire at the shop except for the 38G i needed for the freestyle round. Literally a second before they started they changed it so you could use your own wire as long as it was the proper gauge. Instead of using my nice big spools of twistedmesses wire, i was stuck using these tiny ass spools of lightning vapes, which really fucked me up. My wire kept getting snagged on the slit in the side of the spool, but i managed to eek out a set of messy coils, but they fired nice and even so i squeaked past the first round. The second round was nuts. 28/36g Aliens were the second round, and yet again my 36g kept snagging on the spool itself. With 5 minutes left i had enough for one coil. It was do or die-do i make another batch of alien wire and hope to have it made, wrapped and both coils firing evenly in 5 mins, or do i just throw in the towel?? After about 1/2 second of deliberation i grabbed my spool and went back at it. Knocked it out and began the dry firing process with just one minute left. My coils were still red when the buzzer sounded haha. Only the top two were allowed to compete in the freestyle round, which is something nobody knew. I was really bummed because i had been practicing for this round the hardest. In the end Obi_vape_kenobi walked away with a giant check for $2000, and it was fantastic. Neither of us have ever competed, so it made for a fun ride home haha. I had such a great time, everyone was super freakin' cool. I hope to compete again somewhere soon, because it was a blast. Trying to knock out a build and have it installed and firing in less than 20 mins was such a rush. Good times!!Obi with his check:

Sometimes, yes ;)

I had to, ha!

In all honesty. I just want a tank I can enjoy as much as I do the RDAs. I bypassed tanks and went straight to RDAs when I picked up vaping, and never really turned back. They've been great to me, and with the advances in designs of tanks I finally picked up a Crown, after researching and hearing all the rave. Don't get me wrong, what a great tank with pre-built coil heads. RBA deck? Good luck.

I love putting big ol' dual coils in an RDA and heatin' her up. It seems to me, the Griffin is up to that task and hopefully can keep me from dripping while driving. That's all I can ask...

So your constant plugging of the Griffin has led me to get one, it worked, don't worry :p

After you get it your whole bit about leaving tanks behind for drippers will be reversed...trust me on this one. I only use my RDA's as coil stands now..

Congratulations at taking a place at all. There are some builds I can put together pretty damn fast but a center staggered core alien in 20 min? Fuck outta here. More practice is required. You are talented my friend..by the way...how is that alien variation performing? I would imagine it would have the same wicking and venting attributes as so many staggered variations, but with a twist...badum chee. How's the flavor?
