Exactly right, try it out...if you think it could be warmer throw another wire for staging on it or remove a wrap/pull it tight on a smaller ID...or all three....Its its too warm then remake it with a extra wrap/increase coil ID and/or lose the staging wire.

This is how we find what works best for each RDA and what builds provide the best vape. After a while you will be able to estimate what will work on what new RTA/RDA best by using what you've learn thus far...its a process but once you get the information it can be applied to just about any new toys you get.

Best recreation Ive seen yet! Give yourself some props...Nesquibel and Gregstephens2 gave up on it and I cant get half the other "Big Names" to even want to try doing one ;) Its a good feeling knowing you did something that some of the best cant do...

I'll keep trying definitely going to revisit this build again tomorrow and when my ribbon comes in next week

Well I don't have a macro lens yet but I grabbed some reading glasses and held them in front of my camera and wah-la...redneck macro lens! Its not the best shot ever but it's better than anything ive shot before! Alien build with 28K cores, 36K wraps around a 3mm. Ohms out at exactly at .2. Loaded her up with some diy pistachio ry4 (from ENYAWREKLAW) paired with a fat tire brew and I'm all set for tonight! Back to work and regular life tomorrowo_O btw raymo, that ribbon slider trick really helped out a ton, even without a hand vise it worked wonders. I'll never do it any other way0102172117.jpg 0102172128a.jpg 0102172113.jpg

That is crazy looking. I love mirror finish coils
Thanks! That pic really doesn't do them justice, though. I polish them all the way up to 12,000 "grit". That smaller one was a left over from a while back that I threw in there. I make them much more evenly now. The alien was part of a 15" section that didn't want to wrap around the bit nicely for polishing, so I only got the one coil out of it.

Didn't like the vape on the ribbon wrapped juggernaut type single core coil in the cricket. Switched it up to a 2x28k/36k fused 10.5 wrap 3.5mm at .67ohms.

Decent vapor production with the other build, but super hot and aggressive. Threw some more wire mass to chill it out a bit.

And threw a 12.5 wrap 24k simple build in the other deck. Going on vacation so had to build up some backups just incase.

That's what I use.
I just went and checked out your website and I must say man it's really well put together. Great products your offering and pricing is very reasonable. I might just have to buy a second noisy cricket off ya (that gunmetal is calling to me!). Beautiful coils too, im especially intrigued by the juice magnet coils. Those things look like monsters that climbed out of an abyss and breathe fire or some shit lol!

I'm glad you like it! :D

I'm surprised at what some vendors are still charging for the Noisy Crickets - they've come down in price, but I still see them for $25 some places.

The juice magnets are fantastic flavor and cloud coils, but are quite limited in their use. They really need a 2 post deck (or a Goon) to handle the size. Less wraps and they just seem to lose their effectiveness. Plus, they suck for coilporn purposes - if someone orders them as-is, they're quite ugly until they're pulsed and shaped. But when vaped, they're absolutely fantastic.

I'd really like to try this one again.
It's 6 ply, 27g, 36g on the frames and fused with 38g.

Next time I'll do 28g, maybe an extra ply or two of n80 with a full stagger.
The reason I skip staggered it is because 38g/38g full staggers make it hard to see the n80 strips through the KD color abd the small gap. Just using 36g makes a large enough gap.

No kidding man the noisy cricket is very simple and not much material there. Now that the newness has worn off it should be lower in price. But, having said that it is one of thr most reliable series vapes ive had! Yea i like your description of the juice mags on the site, its pretty damn funny lol. Ive never seen anything like them though so props on that.

Hey man those look awesome! Quick question; on the skip stagger, is there only one side they look good from or do both sides look same after they're wrapped? I havent ventured into skip staggin yet but i really like how you can see the innards.

Seeing the NC in the thread reminds me I should pull out the old VCP I have sitting on the shelf...I have wanted to put the Gold TM24 on it with some 30g/40g aliens for the longest time but forgot...

I love the NC while I had it...I dropped it on concrete and it mangled the edging around the button so it was almost impossible to change the batteries...I wish they made a Solid Copper Version of it

Exactly the same. I imagine a clapton. Now space out the wraps. Now put notches in the gaps.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Info was shared with me and I'm happy to pass it down.
More builders= cheaper ribbon, round wire and more innovation from manufacturers towards our niche within a niche.

I much prefer my VCP to the NC. Even with the NC upgrade kit.

Cool deal man. Reason i ask was the fuse wire looks like it goes strait across so its a trick on my mind lol. Im gonna give it a whirl, but start simple with just round wire. So far ribbon is my enemy but with tips from you guys its getting better!

I have no idea what a VCP is but if its better than the NC i gotta know. I love a good series vape. And i got confirmation today that my NC-2 has hit the shores of America! I should have it in a couple days now and im stoked! I paid for that bastard 4 months ago and preorder kept getting stalled. I was one of the first to pay for one and the last to have one :gaah:

My fuse goes straight across because I fucked the whole thing up in the coiling process. Skip fusing means there's play in the wrap. If you use 38g or higher it's not too bad but 36g is a pita because it's so big leaving you less contact points and less friction. I was going a different direction with this build but it failed. The coil you see is the middle. 36g was used to make the sragger taller and easier to hit when I added another layer.

Just think....before April I thought Ribbon Builds were for the people that only want to show off builds and I hated it with a passion...I never wanted to make any builds with ribbon and I could barely make a framed staple....
The more you adventure with the things your not good at, later you turn out to find that you do just as well with them after a bit of play. Dont give up...Keep practicing, keep trying...if you get frustrated give it a break and comer back to it...it wont happen overnight but it will happen eventually.

The VCP is the Piglet by VaperCloudz...its one of my favorite series boxes...next to my Lucifer..

I'd like to take this moment to thank LV for fucking up another fuse. Why can't they spool wire!?!
Hmmm...I wonder if they sponsor any one...?

Just joking..I completely understand...I wish more companies spooled wire as nice as KP/TM/Kingorchid...

Thanks.
The ribbon on the side started veering off half way down. It sucks but you get over it.

And at raymo, I just got down to my last 20' of my first roll of KD 38g. While there were some overlaps in the last 100' the wire was still pretty straight when it popped. The overlaps could have been my fault too. Idk.
But LV....damn. If you get 500ft or less it's good. I'm about halfway through 1000ft. It snags hard sometimes and randomly there will be a kink in it. I'll be fusing along and suddenly I have a 10° curve. Since I can't straighten it without pulling I have to just lay it down in the fuse like that.

Did you ever find the right fishing line for staggering?

Hell yea i hear that. I like things that are challenging and i think thats why i like building so much. 15 years ago it was skateboarding, then i broke the same ankle 3 times (stills gives me trouble). Then i moved on to guitar and loved that (and 2 kids kinda rooted that out). Vaping on the other hand has been great. No injuries, i can do it sitting at a desk while binge watching Netflix, and im not smoking cigs! Im gonna figure that damn ribbon out if it kills me!
Now that i know what a vcp is, i want one. Thats a sleek looking piece right there, especially paired up with the rafale x. Ive been wanting to run my rafale on a series box since i got it but it just wont fit on the nc. I bet that gold tm24 is gonna look boss on the vcp for sure

What is your problem with ribbon? I bet I can sort it out with this.

Raymo's stacking method:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByjxYyTSvEyBOFRwS1JZMG1kZVk

Watch how he make the ribbon arc. The arc will either make it all stack or push out the pieces that aren't. I start with my pieces prestretched and cut, all laying flat on the table. Then I grab them and push them on top of each other while making the arc.

Mix that with this:

I'd start with 0.4mm. 0.5mm is too hard to coil and 0.3mm is hard to keep stacked while building.

For the Fishing Line for Paraclapton...
Here's what Ive gotten so far that will work:
http://www.gantel.co.uk/product.php/6066787/

.1mm is the same size as 38g so get the 3.1lbs spool
.08mm is the same size as 40g so get the 2.2lbs spool.

Im working on 42g and 44g still but the variety is lacking...but I highly suggest getting it for 40g.

Actually, checking the prices...the best bet is to buy the 40g wire HERE....it actually comes out even cheaper to use then fishing line..

Damn thanks for that link man. LV has a 25% off sale right now cause mastercard is being assholes so im gonna take advantage and buy all sizes of ribbon...probably 250' of each to account for mess ups lol. Hopefully within the week i can have a decent looking build to post.

That tm24 and vcp look made for each other! What a sick looking combo that is...im jelous ;)

Lol. Really? Oh well, if it ain't broke...
I've never tried to paraclap because I don't have duplicate spools. I suppose I could cut off lengths but I don't see why it wouldn't tangle.
There's only a few more builds I can do before I hit a wall. A wall that needs perfect spacing.

I wish I could either sell gobs of SSFCs and Staggertons or get a sponsor that would let me get spools at their price.

I need to start doing enigmas, tsukas and polished stuff. Lot's of things I haven't put much effort into. I just really like staggering.

I thought Id be set for atleast a month or 2 with 3000ft of .3R and 1800ft of .4....but I kinda used it all in less then 3 weeks....now Im out of Ribbon and wont have any for a good bit...buy Ribbon even time you have money, it always comes slower then any other wire and it goes faster then any other wire.

Used An SS 316 strand 14 wraps on a 1.5mm screw driver wrapped with organic sterile walgreens brand cotton balls (they roll out into pads works great ) sits at .18 ohms and heat to .37ohm ss is weird like that.
Oh this is my second build that doesnt kill my battery and is strong enough to be happy with

I discoverd tonight that the last aliens i built were 28ga with 34ga wrap. I think I put 36. Too many spools lying around. I also discovered that until tonight ive never made a pair with 36ga. What a difference that is! Getting it into a groove when aliening is much easier with 34. I did it though, its not perfect and I had some gaps here and there but it vapes and vapes well. This time i used 26ga with 36ga and its a wider, more flavorful coil. All Ni80 as well and i finally got some nice colors out of it! (thanks raymo for the heating tips). 6 wraps, 3mm id, ohms out to 0.12. Got em in the recoil hitting nice and warm at 120 watts. Its not hot either, just a good warm vape. I couldnt have done it without you guys, i appreciate the tips much! Im up way too late on 0105170013a.jpg 0105170037.jpg a work night but i say it was worth it0105170013a.jpg 0105170037.jpg
