the angst is dead on, Its stupid. I get being in a landing path, but they got dumb with it. even the higher end stuff like phantoms wont go above 1600ft.
if youre below the weight requirement you don't need the license.
its even worse than just that, depending on what you use.
I have a pair of phantoms and am debating between an inspire1 and typhoon h; all of which I need the faa lic. But I've also built a few.
the dji app, tell you what you can cant do depending on location.
I live within 5 miles of an international airport so I cant fly above 200ft in my neighborhood, which really sucks if I test anything.
I'm tempted to just build a small race drone, or buy one of those smaller ones like the yuneec breaze

Both the drones I just bought have to be registered. They weigh more than .5 pounds.
If I like it, and can fly without crashing my shit, I either want a DJI Phantom or a GoPro drone next.
I did not have any desire to have tiny quads.
I'd also like to buy a FPV plane. The one I want from GearBest, they won't ship to the US, and I'm sure it's because it has 800 meters range. The GoPro is 4.3 miles, range.
Bought a JXD 506G and a Syma X8HG. Waiting on arrival. IMPAINTENTLY!

the gopro is a definitely a nice one, I was looking at the phantom 4, but since I have the 3s I don't see the purpose of it, same camera and only front facing avoidance. nothing really constitutes an upgrade since I fly above anything anyway.
I like the inspire and the typhoon because of the landing gear getting out of the way and being able to pan the camera from a stable platform.
my only reason for small and fast would be to fly around at home without needing to go anywhere.

I built a really big one with an esc from dji before I had the syma but it was for someone else and I never got to really fly it much, but that's what got me into the hobby.
I'm considering Jill Stein. I am still waiting on a response from Fer regarding her stance on vaping and the FDA.

You certainly don't say or act that way around women. Living in a wheelchair- I still make sure I hold the door and open the car door for my girlfriend to get in before myself. Furthermore., If I were to say some of things that you think is acceptable at any of the places I worked at (and I've been an EE, chef, worked on the river and a PI for a huge corporate law firm) None of those careers would put up with that; I would probably be fired.
