Kinda steampunk, function over form, cool.
I just got mine about a week ago. Its all I been using... Im already looking into getting another unregulated box mod.I just got one of these a few days ago, and I love it. I'm using it with the Indestructible. It's my first unregulated mod, and I'm afraid it's going to hook me on them. lol

You should totally buy that gray one and tell me how the quality is on the finishDude, I just ordered the black one to go with my silver one. I need restraint not to get the gray one...
Man, that is hard for me to fathom.A couple months ago when I started back vaping, I would have laughed if you told me I was going to get into building my own coils, let alone RDAs and mechs...
I am really digging the Hatty by Blitz. Air flow options and flavor make it perfect for this rowdy little beast. What's a good RDA for this thing? I have the Indestructible, but I'd like a little bigger/deeper juice well. I also have a Petri clone, but I don't like building on it. It seems to do better with thicker wire.

Yeah I started Vaping back in July and I was the same. The thing that put me down building and then on to Mech's was the shit the government is pulling.A couple months ago when I started back vaping, I would have laughed if you told me I was going to get into building my own coils, let alone RDAs and mechs...

Never heard of it. I'm going to go Google it now. I like the Indestructible, it just feels like I'm dripping after every couple vapes with it. I like the Petri, too. I just got it not long ago in a trade. It had some claptons in it already, so I was using it on my X Cube II. I decided to try throwing some dual coils in it last night, but I don't like having just one screw for both leads. Plus, the 26awg seems really hard to trap beneath the screw. I don't think it has enough airflow for the NC anyway, though.I am really digging the Hatty by Blitz. Air flow options and flavor make it perfect for this rowdy little beast.

Really like the Indestructible also but the Hatty I really love on it. The bottom air flow kicks in the flavor and the adjustable side air works very well to hit the sweet spot for the Cricket. It's got a deep juice well and with the Velocity build deck makes it close to perfection.Never heard of it. I'm going to go Google it now. Yeah, I just looked at them. I like the looks of them. Looks like they hold plenty of juice. And I like the way the airflow is in the bottom of the deck. Seems like it would help prevent any leaking. I might have to pick one of those up soon. How's the stainless one look on top of the NC? I kind of want to take my Dremel on low speed to my Indestructible and see if I can make it look close to the finish on the NC.Really like the Indestructible also but the Hatty I really love on it. My sweet spot is between 0.7 - 0.8 ohms. Only have to crack the side air. Then when going for a rowdy build like 0.4-0.5 open it up

Only time it leaks with me is when I really way over drip. I also take one of the bottom rings off so I can easily pop off the cap to drip. It also is notched like the Velocity so no screwing with lining up the air flow holes.Yeah, I just looked at them. I like the looks of them. Looks like they hold plenty of juice. 26awg, 3mm ID, 8 wraps would put you right around .6 ohms wouldn't it?Just acquired this little beasty in a trade here. Admittedly I'm kind of obsessed... enough to give my RX200 a rest which I've barely put down since December. Only downside is that I have to figure out how to get to use my trusty 316L wire... flavor with kanthal just isn't what I'm used to anymore. Got a Petri set up with a single 24g, 10 wrap, 3mm ID coil. Performance is awesome and flavor is great save for a bit of metallic taste.

It would, but it was recommended to me to use nothing thinner than 24g for fear of the heat melting the wire.26awg, 3mm ID, 8 wraps would put you right around .6 ohms wouldn't it?
Oh, okay. I haven't looked into stainless much, so I didn't know that.It would, but it was recommended to me to use nothing thinner than 24g for fear of the heat melting the wire.

The melting point for 316L is pretty close to that of kanthal A1. 316L melts at 1375C while kanthal A1 is 1400C.It would, but it was recommended to me to use nothing thinner than 24g for fear of the heat melting the wire.
So I just built a bit lower, around .8 ohms and the metallic taste of the kanthal is gone now. I'll experiment with it on another atty in the future and post the results. If I went with a larger ID and still did 10 wraps with the 316L, I should be able to hit that .8 ohm mark. I'll let you guys know after I get a chance to play! The melting point for 316L is pretty close to that of kanthal A1. 316L melts at 1375C while kanthal A1 is 1400C.
You just have to be careful with the first few pulses. It is my experience that if any wire is going to melt from the NC's voltage, it's going to happen when the coils still has those turbo shorts near the legs. As you work them out, you can gradually get to pulsing the fuck out of whatever wire you want to use... ...even 28g kanthal. I can't help but think that if you can pulse 28g kanthal on an NC, you can pulse 316L. My only concern is with how soft 316L can be.
If anything, just build it a bit fatter than you would kanthal, just like with normal SS builds.
I assume no responsibility if you melt your wire trying this. Can't say I've ever tried it myself.![]()
Hey, there's gotta be some kinda way to make it work. Not sure about singles, though. Dualing it up might help get the ramp time up to reasonable levels. So I just built a bit lower, around .8 ohms and the metallic taste of the kanthal is gone now. Damned kids! I remember when I had to walk FIFTEEN miles through the woods to get to the nearest vape shop! And if they only had Chinese juice when you got there, then that's what you got! And we were HAPPY just to have THAT! Builds character, I tell ya...Thanks for the trip down memory lane, old timer.![]()

I know I say this all the time... ...but claptons. 316L/nichrome claptons if nichrome doesn't bother your palate. I know for a fact that nichrome as low as 40g will hold up to the pulsing if handled with a bit of care. Probably be a nice way to take some of the heat away from the 316L.

No, not at all...Its only noticeable when your looking for the edge, its not that m,uch bigger but if you have OCD for that type of thing then it may be irritating...Doesn't look to bad. Does it feel awkward.

Stop making me picture you as Walter Mathau because I know you're not!Man, that is hard for me to fathom.
I vaped for well over a year before I started getting into building. Of course, it was a different time. This was 2011. Cigalikes were still considered an option... ...as in, successful vapers would often recommend them to newbies before getting into the "heavy" stuff like VV batteries and clearomizers. People had been making their own mods for a couple of years by then, but it was something for the really hardcore vapers and legitimately smart people. This was back in the age of the Genesis. It was something that was sort of hard to get into if you were someone who was strictly in it to quit smoking. It was still a pretty niche thing.
They were there and and in fact an established market, but people didn't know shit about them yet. That kind of stuff was hard to come by. The amount of units circulating was low and the prices, prohibitively high. Mech mod users were more often than not, building them themselves or re-fashioning something else into one - hence the term "mod."
Most of us were quite happily using our clearomizers, which had evolved significantly in the year before. It was a HUGE step up from cartos and carto-tanks. Believe it or not, there was a time when CE5's and Kanger T3's were considered some of the best options. The aspire BDC's were THE SHIT in 2011-2012... ...people were mostly using those types of systems with ego batteries. You were vaping fancy if you had a spinner... ...that was still considered an "advanced" device. The most advanced devices of the time were the realatively new 10-15w PWM mods, the first APV's. People would go on to pay hundreds of dollars for 30w mods not long after people started really catching onto those. RTA's took off just a year later.
You were top-level vaping if you had something like a Provari with a Kayfun or a Genesis on top. That was pretty much the best there was. And it was all MTL. No clouds, bro... ...no clouds... ...but people were astounded by the vapor production they were getting from their tootle puffers. That was the closest you got to clouds.
Back then, I would've laughed if you told me that any of the shit we're using now would exist today... ...all while puffing away on my kanger t3 and spinner battery. That wasn't that long ago. 4 years at the most. Now, people are getting up and running with this inconceivably well-evolved and increasingly specialized tech in a matter of months.
THAT, to me, is what's really crazy. The shit people start off on now would've blown people's minds just a couple of years ago. It's not just about how far you've come. People like you are a testament to just how far vaping has come. You guys don't even know how fucking good you have it to have the option of going the way you have... ...just to be able to quickly learn about it and easily acquire the tech.
People who started in 2009 would've said the same thing. Ask them about teabags and blue foam.
Thanks for recommending this. I ordered one today. At least, I hope I got my order placed in time. I found them for $28. They sold out soon after I ordered, so maybe I got one. Here it is on my SS Cricket

I know I love mine! I've had it about a week now and it's my go-to mod when running errands. I still use my RX200 for work because of the insane battery life, but the Cricket hardly leaves my hand otherwise.I'm pretty confident that you're going to love it also.![]()

Ah, my mistake. Seems we have similar taste in gear! May have to consider a Hatty. My next purchase will probably be a Tsunami RDA... I have a Kennedy and I LOVE the flavor from the bottom airflow, just not the build deck. Much prefer the Velocity style.I was referring to the Hatty RDA with the Cricket, awesome with the Cricket.
But yes the Cricket, it's usually with me everywhere also. I also have the Reuleaux RX200 and DNA 200. I rarely use them either, especially since I put a 32x2/36 fused Clapton's @1.12 build in my Griffin and have it on one of my Cricket's.

Tempted to pick up a black one at that price!I already got my dick slapped for unknowingly and inadvertently posting a link to a deal that was an affiliate so trying to not do that again. But I saw black and silver Crickets for 16 bucks at a place called ecig dot com.
