Half is half. And there is a middle half, unfortunately for others.

Driving my big trucks in bama people always seen me coming..I drove for Western Express out of Nashville and got a lot of loads going in/out of Mobile, Birmingham, Selma and Montgomery..(lots of paper out of Selma) But folks would get out my way, and if they didn't a blast on the airhorn right on their ass made them think a freight train is about to hit them. I got a kick out of scaring the hell out of people like that too, because they deserved it..lol

We're good.
She just over-wintered here for 3 months 'til March 1st. Just surprised the trigger got pulled so quick, but was expecting it to occur at some point.

If my own mother decided to move anywhere near me, I'd have to move... to another state! Thank god that woman is 45 minutes away. :D

I agree, they do! I always give the big trucks a very wide berth and lead room; I once drove a medium-ish (19ft) Uhaul that had all our possessions in it when we moved down here from MI, and I got to see for myself how much fun it is to try and stop a heavy truck... NOT! I do NOT want to be in front of a big truck on a downhill grade if there isn't plenty of room between me and him!

OK made something trippy and full of noms.
Did my cauliflower patties again but switched it up.
Ohh, you must explain again! I love cauliflower, it's the best filler there is, subtle taste, low on calories and high in mass. Big fan of mixing it into mashed potatoes, makes them much lighter but still damn delicious... and now I know what I'm making tomorrow for dinner!

OK I did eggplant late last week. I still had some left over.
Took a head of cauliflower, nuked it after ricing in water.
Drained it and then cooled it to twist in cheese cloth to remove water.
Diced green onion, egg plant, rice flower, eggs, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, egg plant, and romano and parm.
Mixed it like a dough and grilled it in coconut oil.
Topped with course sea salt and balsamic.

Can't relate sister..never lived in such a harsh climate... Never will, lol

I grew up in New England. When you live in the Southern United States, as I have - it becomes wet-cold during the short winter (which, is miserable to anyone who has anykind of arthritic problems, or stenosis in the spine like I have - not to mention the two pounds of titanium I lug around in my back)...

To get four real seasons in the Southern United States, you need to live in the Appalachians, or the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Living on the Southern East Coast for many, many years - I have grown to miss the four distinct, and very real seasons that I grew up in; fierce, yet dry winters that gradually become Spring - muddy, at first - then, full of wonderment as crocus poke through the melting snow... the greenery taking over the stark, denuded branches of deciduous trees...

The arrival of early summers are like spring in their aspect; warm days, followed by cool nights. Gorgeous.

Summer arrives, with hot temperatures; yet, the ocean is still frigidly cold, even in July / August. Go swimming, turn blue, and go back to your friends at the beach blanket to warm up (this is one of the MAIN reasons people move from the North to the South, aside from winter Nor'Easters, or blizzards).

Autumn arrives, with spring-like warmth in the day, and the need for jackets at night. The turning leaves are a show unto themselves: reds, yellows and orange colors coat the distant trees like Nature's light show - lovely, and FREE to look at. Halloween is the last of Autumn; by Thanksgiving, winter has arrived.

Snow? Oh, yes. Through mid-March, where I grew up. Deep snow turns the out-of-doors into an acoustically-insulated room. Automobiles have no tire noise; engines are running, but quietly so.

Each season has its own forms of beauty. To be able to see them all, when Liz and I move to Colorado - will certainly feel like returning home, for me.

Sadly, like Thomas Wolfe wrote many years ago, "You Can't Go Home Again" - I will miss my youth, and becoming a man in New England; my family, many of whom that have moved on, or passed away; the memories, so wondrous - and, wistful.

Liz and I have found a 4500 sq. ft. mansion in Northeastern Colorado, elevation 5,647 feet ASL. It is an historic building, built of brick and brick veneer in the very early part of the 20th century. It looks incredible. Earnest money will go to the selling realtor this week. Liz and I are blown away.

I bought new tires, a new CLASS III hitch and a hitch tongue (all Reese) - the hitch tongue has three different-sized trailer hitch balls mounted on it; one for 3000 lb. tow loads; one for 6,000; and, one for 12,000.

Which, reminds me of a joke. Joe DiMaggio had walked up to the batter's box, the opposing team looking very nervous. Two Italian immigrants, already huge baseball fans, were crowing "Sei Italiano! Joe DiMaggio!"

DiMaggio awaited the pitch, and the pitcher sent one in, high and fast.. The umpire shouted, "Ball! One ball!" DiMaggio stepped back from the plate, using his Louisville Slugger to knock the dirt from his cleats. He stepped up to the plate, awaiting the next pitch.

The pitcher uncoiled, and a slider crossed the plate to the inside. The umpire yelled, "Ball! Ball two!" The two Italian immigrants in the stands were jumping up and down.

After another pitcher 'breather', Joe stepped up, and took the third pitch - low, and to the outside. "Ball!" the ump nearly screamed. "Ball thrreee!" The bleachers started booing, and catcalling the pitcher. The manager ran to the mound, shouting unheard epithets against the noisy stadium.

Joe, after knocking some more dirt clods loose from his cleats, faced the mollified pitcher, who threw his last pitch over the catcher's mitt, into the backstop.

The ump, resigned, said "Ball four. Take your base!"

So, one of the two immigrants ended up being really confused.

"He said, "He no hit da ball. Why he runna to the base?"

His paisan' said, "Joe DiMaggio gotta four balls, that's why!"

So, the other immigrant stood in his seat, and yelled: "Walka proud, Joe, walka proud!"

Good early morning. ;)
