I always shop at ecig.com Josh is a great guy and always stands behind his product. I've told this story before. I ordered an X Cube. The bt didn't work Josh replaced it. Sent me another and that did not work. I asked if I could just exchange it for a VT200 and pay the difference. Josh said don't worry about it and gave me the VT200 for the price of an X Cube. This was when the VT had just come out so there was a big difference in price. Ecig.com made a lifetime customer out of me that day.

You got lucky, I despise my X Cube II... Glad to hear about the quality customer service!

@Deucesjack , it's good to hear ecig.com is a good place to buy from. The G1 is out of stock, maybe that is why they still have the $89 price. I wonder if they'll get the slice as well.
They don't always have the latest and the greatest right away but when they do they usually are the cheapest.

Couldn't agree more. I always check there first and have also dealt with Josh several times. I've bought a lot from them.

That X Cube was such a janky POS. Great idea with very poor execution. I have stayed far away from any Smok product since having that experience.

I'm used to the ipv5 menu since it's very similar to the sx mini 350j chip, and I own several mods with that chip. The form factor doesn't bother me, and my doors fit well.

I'm not particularly fond on the box shape of the HW, but I can deal with it. I now have the first one, and 3 Sig 100Ws. I have huge hands for a small woman so no mod is too big for me. I have man hands, without the hair, lol!

The crazy menu on the g2 does concern me. I'm not sure I want to go through that much trouble to get a good vape, but tc with kanthal is interesting.

As for outdated though, the g2 came out in January :D Holy shit, it's ancient!

I've chosen the ipv5 as the comparison mod because I think it has a better chip, and is well built, compared to other bargain priced mods. I expect it to outlast my rx200s.

Well it did come out in ancient times, but its so far ahead of its time that its still in the future. I remember when it first came out and the kanthal TC claims were floating around, people were saying "Its the first Kanthal TC mod, now everyones gonna copy it, Ill wait a month or 2 until a cheaper, better copycat comes out."...well its been forever and its still the only one.

So is yours working ok now?

Seems to be, havent tried the SS preset, but really, with the XXX setting you can TC any wire by adjusting the FSK Temp Curve a bit. They have recommended Curve settings in their manual on their site. Start there and adjust til you get it where you want it.

Hopefully they still have them at that price in a week. Some dickless fuck stick stole my CC info and drained my bank account completely. My bank is being difficult and said itll take up to 10 days to both get a new card issued AND to get my money back (thats IF I get it back). So all my hoarding plans have been put on hold (not to mention my fucking bills and such)

Well, just got my G2!! Found out it doesnt like my VTC4s. Once I put them in I have to roll them a bit until they actually make good contact. But my poo poo batteries wirk just fine. Gonna rewrap the Vtc's and see if that was the issue. Im sure it is. I generally dont TC, but since I have switched to mainly using SS wire my coil resistances have gone DOWN a lot compared to Kanthal. So I wanted the low firing capabilities from this. Right now I have my Boreas built with dual fused 24g ss 304 / 32g ss 304 coils at 6 wraps. firing happily at .09 at 130 watts. the hand feel is a bit to get used to as I have been using my RXs for a few months, but still isnt bad. It dosent sit as nicely in my cars cup holder as the RX, but I have a office pencil cup that I cut the bottom out that I use to make the cup holder deeper to solve that. No Bueno.

Im debating taking it all apart and hitting it on my belt sander to get rid of all the symbols around the edges... Those are rather hokey. It would be such a nice device if they werent there.

Im gonna read up more about the TC functions and delve into them later, but for now Im liking it in straight digital watts mode. Really? "Digital Watts Mode"? Compared to what in a normal mod??

Gonna use the crap outta it today and see how the batt life is compared to my RX. So far in one hour the batts have dropped 10%, so Im thinking that batt life isnt gonna be as good. Granted in the RX I had three batts, and I fired coils that were .15-.25, and in the G2 I have .09 coils... but I have plenty of spare batteries. Just gotta remember to keep them all charged.

Ill post back after I use it a bit. Gonna go figure out if I need to update the software now and look for Raymos link for the latest.

While it could possibly be the wrappers getting in the way of good contact. I think it's more likely the LG's are just a touch longer than the VTC4's. Maybe sitting them up on end next to each other would confirm or refute my theory on this.

Cheers,
Steve

I will measure them with my calipers later. right now Im having to much fun vaping it and I gotta get ready for work in a few mins. Oh, I was wrong, it was my Sammy 25R's that I have to fiddle with to get to work. but once I get them fiddled and working it seems pretty solid with them. havent had a failure to fire yet post-fiddle.

Quick question. My battery door on the new G2 moves while I'm holding it and vaping. Anyone else have that?

Yep everything is good. It's the side the tank is on is where I can press it down and it makes a clicking noise.

Odd. I'd hit Josh up if it's bugging you it seems to be a defect.

Normally something like this wouldn't but it's real annoying because every time I handle the mod it makes a clicking sound.

My bad, I tried another set of batteries just to see if I would get a different result. Apparently I didn't push the two batteries in far enough. Now she's good and I feel much better about my purchase.

At a first look everyone hates the symbols but after getting it and seeing the box you start appreciating how deep those engravings are...How is the coil ramp up with the box and the wattage compared to your other boxes....most people feel a large difference.
Was the box lighter then you originally thought it was?

No movement on my doors

Take off the door and get a screwdriver and screw the shield screws in as far as you can, one of them isnt fully tightened....

It was my fault. I guess being brandie new the battery terminals were really tight. I love this box. It's much lighter than I thought it would be and the shape is suprisingly comfortable. She vapes like a beast. The coil ramp up is awesome but I'm still playing around with her. I'm loving the notch coil in digital watts mode. The operation of the mod definitely has a learning curve to it. It's nothing like any other mod I own. The engravings don't bother me at all and I think the silver looks real classy. The concave firing button takes some getting used to. Now my battery door is solid as a rock. Glad I made this Vapocalypse purchase. Now I'm waiting on my Hohm Slice and Boreas and I should be good to go.
