Smok Osub mini resistance questions

Hello all! I am new to vaping, and am still wrapping my head around a few of the concepts. I bought a Smok Osub mini because it looked to be a great starter kit. I have been using it for about a month, and pretty much run from 30-40 watts depending on the flavor I am running. This was all done with the .4 ohm coil that was in it out of the gate. I wanted to change flavors up, and knowing the change was from two flavors that would not blend well, I followed some instructions to soak the coil in alcohol and let it air dry for a day. While this coil was drying, I tossed in the other included coil, which is a 1.0 ohm coil. Other than being limited to 35W, what is the difference in them? I have a good grasp on the electrical side of it all, since I am an electrician, but just curious if there is a perk to each resistance level. I realize that my mod sees the difference in resistance, and puts out more voltage to make up for the change in order to produce the wattage. Is there an increase in temperature when going with the lower resistance coil? Any advice on this, or direction to a forum thread that clears all this up is much appreciated!

THANKS!

Sub ohm just heats up quicker as less resistance giving u more flavour and cloud quicker. Running at 1ohm will just take alittle longer to ramp up, thus not getting as much flavour etc due to lung capacity if u get my meaning?

I assumed that was exactly what would happen. It just didn't seem to be a HUGE difference for me. I will do some more taste testing with the 1.0 ohm, but I was getting used to the fast warm up of the sub ohm and enjoyed the flavor! Not a bad little mod for my first one I felt.

I run at 0.15ohms on my rda......the flavour and cloud is instant, run a 0.5 upwards I know the difference. Tge longer u vape and experience youll just whats right for u :)

You could go into the whole building a bigger coil for more surface area to hold juice, eg a clapton, but youd merely increase Wattage or voltage to ramp up as quick as a lower ohm coil. Meaning 0.15ohms at 40w, 1.2ohm coil at 120w heat as quick as each other. Just as an example. Figures aint accurate lol

I hear what you are saying.... I assume that is the reason I am getting a decent cloud and flavor from my little 40W mod all because I am running the .4 ohm coil. I tried a 125W mod a year ago, but that was above an ohm, and it didn't seem all that impressive. I think I want to build an RDA with .2 ohms or so, and run it off a smok xcube ultra.

What mod are you using, and does it have good amount of protections for the low resistance? IE....won't explode lol

I use a tesla invader III series mod. Its mod quite a Mech Mod but not a full blown fancy box mod. It has a chip that regulates power supply so no danger of exploding and a little dial on the front to control voltage. Not Wattage, but it coverts to around 240w max output.

I use a dripper tank, twin coil, 3mm drill bit, 24g stainless steel flat wire at 8 wraps, about 0.15ohms give or take. If you use a single coil, the ohms are always higher than a dual coil

I assume each coil is .30 right? Then, being a twin, this makes it .15 since it is parallel?
