Hi im trying to make a good pastry mix with almonds.
any advice which almond flavor cons is good? also from what i read on some forums there are almond flavor cons thats oil based, is it bad to use it?
I like FA Almond & FE Almond myself...
Hi Heabob, thanks for the fast help as always! how many % do you use on your mixes?
also how bout FW Toasted Almonds?
I believe, Almond goes so well with Marzipan, is due to the fact, that Marzipan is made of Almonds and Rose oil.TFA Toasted Almond is pretty good IMO. You could also add a little Marzipan, it goes well with almond. I use FA Marzipan but I've heard the INW version is pretty tasty too.

TBO, I wouldn't have known myself, if it wouldn't have been for a friend of mine making Marzipan from scratch. That's true but I'm not sure everyone knows that. At least I didn't. Before I started to mix my own juices, I had no earthly idea what Marzipan was or what it consisted of. Admitting that probably exposes my lack of culinary skill and experience but hey, at least I'm honest.
Just for grins, here is the definition for Marzipan from Wiki :
Marzipan is a confection consisting primarily of sugar or honey and almond meal (ground almonds), sometimes augmented with almond oil or extract.
Who knows, maybe it will be helpful to someone.
