Most start by reviewing gear they buy themselves - you don't get free stuff to review until you get a good following

Riptrippers is a shill with no credibility btw

Start a YouTube channel. Post a review. No, really, it's that simple.

But, if you want to get serious about it, it can get real complex real fast... vendor and manufacturer relationships, deadlines, queues.

Then, there's the gear... a review can be filmed with a built in webcam. It won't look great, but it can be done. Add in a decent camera or two, a decent mic or two, software, backdrops... it can get expensive.

And if the thought ever crossed your mind that it's an easy way to get freebies, think again. To do it right (imo), it's a lot of work. And, a lot of bandwidth. Researching, filming, editing, re-filming, uploading, sharing...

Still, it's a way to share what you're passionate about...

Most new items will not be available here shortly, if the regs don't change. I surely wouldn't waste much time on it.

If you're in a different country, that's a horse of a different color.

If you have to ask that here, instead of doing the common sense thing like asking a few known reviewers how they got their start, to me you seem to come off as just wanting free gear for yourself, but hey that's just my opinion

I really don't think that reviewing is where it's at right now in the vaping world due to the impending regulations. Good luck!
BTW I think Rip Tripper is the worst reviewer ever. He is a shill. Maybe you could talk to him about reviewing.

as someone who is just starting out doing it, it's expensive and time consuming. I buy all my own stuff and I'm doing it because i enjoy it and to help other vapors. I don't really care about free shit I have more then enough shit already that i barely use and shit that i haven't even opened yet lol If you want to start doing it, do it for the right reasons which is fun. If you do it for free stuff your gonna wind up being a shill

I am by no means a big reviewer- I have only done some written reviews myself, and for these I did get the products for free- but before this I already had purchased around 24 regulated mods, and about 8 mechs, and countless tanks and RDA's.

After this, on Facebook some companies started speaking to me. I don't know if it was because they could see I had a fairly large collection, or it was just random, but I assume it was due to already owning quite a lot of items and speaking about them.

Out of everything, most of my things I have bought and payed for. Only some of my newest mods have been for review purposes.

So if you want to do it, it is expensive, and you really need to enjoy vaping to do so. I never set out with the intention of receiving products for free or to review, I just enjoyed collecting mods and enjoyed each one. Due to this I was offered things to review.

If you just want to do it for free gear though, I wouldn't expect much even if you was lucky enough to receive things. However, if you want to genuinely review products to help out other vapers, start buying items, learning about vaping in general, and also review everything you buy. Once you have a following, you could contact companies to ask them, or ideally they will contact you if you do enough.

Did you ever notice that most reviews on YouTube etc. are slanted toward the positive. Hardly ever does a reviewer slam a product. This is because many of these guys have a working relationship with the manufacturer or seller of the product they review. If you were notorious for picking a product apart and giving a review that tells the good AND the bad of a product not a lot of people would be choosing you to review their product and nobody would give you free products to review. I usually write a review of sorts about any vape product I buy. If I buy from an online vendor I will review the product on their site after a time. If I buy at a B/M I will go on their web site and review the product I buy if the site allows. I do this with my hardware and any ejuice that I buy. I always give my honest opinions on the product, good, bad or mixed. I really wouldn't want free product to review unless it was with the understanding that the review would be an honest opinion as I found the product to be. I review the products because I like to share my experiences with other, like minded individuals. Reviewing dishonestly for free product is too much like work. I already have a job.

I'd like a distillery or winery or even a brewery to send me some bottles so I can "review" them. How can I get a gig like that? :vino:
