Luckily we have roadside assistance. Since I didn't have a jack I had to wait awhile for the tow truck, but once he got there he had the tire changed in 10 minutes, some jobs are just easier when you have the right tools... scratch that... MOST jobs lol

at least I'm home now, time to get into some hardcore relaxation

Morning knuckles. Sorry I haven't been on much. Have been having some pain and stuff lately and haven't felt much like talking. Finally went to the hospital yesterday and got diagnosed gall bladder problems. Will be seeing a surgeon today. Yesterday was a blur of meds that made me shiny and sleepy. Today have to stay off them to be able to drive to the surgeon boo for pain and boo for cold weather not helping any
I am sorry to hear this. I have been told that gall bladder pain is ... well ... really painful! Best of luck with the doc. Get that thing OUT and start feeling better FAST!

Congrats Merbear, he's beautiful. :)

Sorry you are going through this Always, I can empathize as I have been going through something similar for about a year and a half, not sure exactly what it is because I don't do doctors, but I think I am going to have to soon. It's either IBS or gall bladder I'm sure with a family history of gall bladder problems. The good side is over that year and a half I have lost over 20 lbs.

I've been so quiet lately for a number of reasons, some I won't talk about. The last 2 weeks though have just been upsetting, not for personal reasons but because I am a compassionate person. Last week an idiot school bus driver killed 6 babies and injured a whole bunch more, 2 still in critical condition after 11 days. A total jerk with a history of reckless driving and complaints from kids and parents for doing thinks like screaming profanities at the kids and slamming on the breaks and knocking them out of their seats, complaints to the school did nothing, one of the babies said just before the wreck he hollered " are you ready to die". Kindergarteners through 5th grade. Yes he has been charged with 6 counts of vehicular homicide, hopefully that number doesn't grow.
Then if that wasn't bad enough Gatliburg had a terribe firestorm Monday night, so far 1000 homes and businesses gone, 13 people dead and they haven't finished the recovery operation, expect more.
Then Tuesday night we had 5 tornadoes, 5 more dead. The closest was about 20 miles, maybe closer as I am just guessing.

I'm ready for this to stop.
Dog that thing about quiet people really hits home, I am definitely a quiet person living with one who never stops talking.

Happy birthdays to those I've missed and hugs to all that need one. :)
It really has been a whirlwind of tragedy lately. I hate to listen to the news. I usually do a couple hours of news in the mornings and evenings with my audiobooks in between. Gets to the point that I don't want to turn on the radio in the truck. If it isn't stupid protests and political crap, it is man and nature's inhumanity to man. Hang in there Claudia. It's going to be a bumpy ride for everyone for quite awhile I fear. Share the pain here. Maybe it helps to vent. I miss you and our visits on chat. I am here (well, mostly. The driving thing gets in the way of availability.) should you wish to visit.

Yesterday the weather man called for a rain/snow mix......turning to just rain by mid morning.
I have about 4" of "rain" to deal with. I also slipped on said rain at midnight last night during a Herk poopy run.
Down 3 steps before I could even think. Bump on my lower back and a wrist issue.

Hope my neighbor didn't see that.
OUCH! Take good care of those injuries. Remember what happened to our Penguiness.

Evening boof heads hope all are well. All is good here, despite the pain problems have been happier the last few weeks than I've ever been. Getting things ready for this surgery and for Christmas, next few weeks will be hectic. Smooches y'all

And hawkie you better be careful. Don't make me come down there and beat on your door and kick your butt
Let me know when this will happen. I will get a load going east on 80 and sell tickets for the event! My money is on you, but don't tell Hawk, K?

43° and pouring rain. I've made one delivery and I'm already soaked. Only 16 more to go.

You have the really hard job. I have been doing some local stuff for our Sear's contract and I have maybe three stops. Most of them have very well trained receiving staff. They have to check the seal and remove it at each stop. Most of them also open my doors. I just sit in my truck, wait until they are finished, pull forward and they close the doors so they can put a new seal on for the next stop. Talk about a lazy job! Some don't do the doors but that's OK with me. It is really my job anyway! The worst part is getting a full size tractor and 53' trailer in those areas that are made for a 26' box truck. I am getting gooder and gooder at maneuvering in tight spaces! As they say: Necessity is the mother....

Yesterday prompted a search for a new jacket. Water resistant, warm and high vis, since so many places I deliver to now require you to wear a safety vest on their property. Just can't decide on which color.

Look for the ones that have heaters built in. They are awesome! I got one for Stan. It is a Godsend in really cold weather.

Mom's been sick, having a hard time breathing. Probably going to take her to the hospital today. She hasn't gotten this sick since she had leukemia. I'm hoping it'll all be fine, fingers crossed :sadpanda:
Prayers going out for you and mom. Hopefully by now you have been to the hospital and learned that it is only a respiratory infection that will be treated quickly and easily.

We have been below 0 and slightly above for a few days here. On my way to pick up my load yesterday, it read -10 with my truck outside temp indicator. The sun was shining so it really wasn't terrible if you only stayed outside a little bit at a time. I did wear a jacket. And gloves. You know it is cold outside if I wear any sort of jacket. I did not go so far as socks and boots. That is reserved for full out blizzards!

LOL! It is Fahrenheit. It goes a lot lower than that. Up where the Native Americans are fighting the oil pipeline, it is much lower and the wind chill makes it lower still. "We" (the US) get weather that will cause frostbite on exposed skin in just minutes.

I think it is time for this dragon to drag her butt back to bed for a nap before I really have to start the day. My sleep is all screwed up right now. I was just "buggered" when I got home yesterday evening and I am not much better today. I made my back really angry by chaining up and it is letting me know that it is still rather upset.

I'd guess Nike is the bigger fish.

Most of our Christmas shopping is done. Still need to get a few things. Gonna actually go out to stores today. Will likely regret it later.

Has she been eating better? Worried she would slip back in to her old habits as time went by.
No

She tried to get out of the dietician visits every two weeks since "they don't understand" But seems they comvinced her to keep that up.

I consider myself lucky if she acknowledged I have spoken at all though. She likes one way conversation where she talks for half an hour, then I get say either "yes" or "no". So no point me trying to push it

I'm not really happy with these temps either. I don't like the really hot times but I think I hate chaining and trudging in snow worse. Spring and fall are my favorites.

Thanks glow! She was doing a bit better yesterday when I finally got home. That flat tire made for a longer trip than usual. She was pretty resistant about going and said that she felt better so we decided to stay home and just keep an eye on her Temp and cough. Her temp was a couple degrees high last night but not for long. Maybe a faulty reading... anyway she was feeling and looking good this morning and the cough has seemed to have improved along with her mood. If she's still not back to normal Monday she's going to a Doc-in-a-box. I am fully prepared for a hospital trip if any signs or symptoms return though.

I haven't brought it up to her but this is really like what happened before she found out that she had a staph infection in her pick line, and ended up in a coma that week. The fever she had back then was a lot higher though. She came home from the stay in GR for chemo and wasn't feeling great. I took her temp and it was 99-100. She convinced me she would be fine and that she doesn't need to go. It was late so I gave in... the next night when I took her temp the thermometer said it was 102/103, and she had me convinced it may be broken until I found another one That gave the same readings. I brought her into the hospital that night, they had to get an ambulance to bring her to Grand Rapids and in a few days I had to induce a coma. I was her caregiver, so I kinda felt like it was my fault she got the staph infection... I thought I killed my Mom. I don't know what I would have done if she didn't make it. Luckily, she's OK and in remission now.

I just get really freaked out whenever she gets sick

Sounds frighteningly familiar. Four years ago, my wife went septic after an out patient surgery and spent 11 days in an induced coma. Well, 8 days were induced and the last 3 were spent trying to wake her up. Didn't think she was coming out of it. Scary times watching someone you love go through that.

Oh man, did she recover okay? septic shock is just no joke, apparently some people lose their ability to walk after going septic.

After a two/two and a half weeks in the coma she was improving to the point they decided to try taking the tubes out and waking her up but she wasn't ready to breath on her own so they intubate again. One of the doctors actually told me that if she didn't improve soon it was time to think about the possibility of her not getting better.

She came through in the nick of time though, I just can't believe how few people came to see her or me. Luckily the nurses were as great as they were. They helped more than I could begin to explain

Oh (((Saint))) that is so scary to hear
Scary story but a happy ending.

Scary story but a happy ending.

Just some nasty scars and a couple of chunks they cut off her. Her lungs flooded (ARDS) when it happened. That's why they intubated her and induced the coma. Early on, they didn't think she'd pull through. She came through ok. Just not the same spirit she used to have. Scared to live for fear of dying.
