Fused Claptons are definitely flavor based coils - and can produce respectable clouds, as well. Are the cores kanthal too?
Yes they are. 28 gauge kanthal. I am not sure what wattage to use for these?
This is how I have mine built - ignore the old cotton. Lol
I put the coil above the positive block and below the top of the negatives and let the cotton just touch the deck.
I try and think of it as air coming into the airslots and then wrapping around the coil

What wire are you using there?
A 7 wrap 2.5mm inside diameter pair of coils made with those fused Claptons should be around 0.35 ohms and should vape nicely at around 50 watts.
I'll try that. Thank you! I did 3 mm inner diameter for the one I have now. I got around 0.38 ohms, its alright at like 60 watts.
What would you recommend for the 21 gauge SS?
What mod/battery combo are you using?
Smok Alien mod with LG HG2 batteries. I am getting the Sony VTC5A this week too.
Okay, I'll try the same build in my Recoil to see how it vapes. I don't have the Alien, but I can use something similar.

because opinions are just that. opinions. You don't have to agree with it. I just keep it honest for my likes. everyone has differing opinions. For example DJLsb one of my favorite reviewers gave the pharaoh his best cloud RDA, goon his best flavor RDA, and the engine his best RTA for 2016. I don't agree with any of that at all, but i respect his opinion and he's entitled to his own opinion.
Taste is very subjective, there really isn't any fact involved in it. There are people who prefer the flavor of a kayfun vaping MTL at 10 watts over the flavor of a goon. doesn't make them wrong. we just all have different taste. The goon is a good RDA, I just don't think it's the messiah of RDAs as many think, now that doesn't make them wrong either. they are entitled to think that. It's also highly build dependent.
you know it's kinda hard walking around with you on my nuts all the time, it would be nice if you got off them
not at all. Just your average joe vapor who is here to give his honest opinion and help out new vapors. I just enjoy the hobby and am happy it got me off tobacco and want to help others enjoy it as well.

I angled the coils kinda high so they would match the downflow of the airflow from the Recoil. Mine's a clone.
