I use one of three mods they are all old newest is a evic vtc mini, they were on a flash sale for 2 bucks, then Sigelei 75 watt unit and an aspire pegasus

Hi Jimi. Wow, a lot of conversation here last night.

It stinks so much that we have to worry about leaving stuff in our own yards, that some brazen sumbitch will at least try to walk right up and steal out from under an older person. I keep a loaded revolver under my bed, and would be tempted to fire a few into the air, but we live out in the middle of nowhere, and all our neighbors would do the same under those circumstances. You have enough going on without having to lose sleep over those sorry POSs.

You and I have a couple of the same mods, and they're good ones, too. I also have a Sig 75 and a Pegasus. Also a couple of Sig Mini Books, an Evaya, and two Sparks. I like Sigelei mods. Would love to have the Aspire kit that @Heartsdelight had up for sale yesterday, but can't afford it right now, and don't need it anyway. All that though to say that if you ever get in a pinch and need a mod, I will send you one. I have more than I need and would be happy to help out. Actually that goes for anyone here who is retired. Fixed income can't be fun, and it's staring me in the face. I hope I can keep working for a few more years yet.

On other matters, @Draconigena I wish we could have some guineas. Won't do until we have no cats. My Maine Co.on would have a feast on a guinea, as would the bobcats and foxes. They'd be helpful, though, because the ticks are terrible here, beginning right about now.

@The Cromwell my husband would have a fit over your F100. Seems like he's told me he had one before I met him (1974 - we've just had our 44th anniversary on April 19). I'm sure he'd agree with you about preferring to lose the Toyota. He's just bought a 4WD 2008 Nissan Frontier, and of any of the newer trucks he's had, this thing seems more solid and heavy-duty. Think he really hates that he bought it, didn't want to spend the money, but I told him he needed to get something that would last him, because when I stop working, we won't be buying any more vehicles.

One thing about buying trucks, they're expensive, but they do hold value well, even beat all to hell. The prices on trucks are just unbelievable.

@Lady Sarah I am continually amazed by the things you know how to do. You are handier than a lot of husbands. Just wish you weren't in such pain, if you have to do hard work like that. What you said about fellas using your lawn mowers, well, that's what my husband says about me using his mower. So I don't use it any more. Don't like yard work anyway.

So good morning to everybody, hope you slept well and will have a great day! I'm working at home today and then making dinner tonight, and not much else. Boss has given me a chance to work from home for a couple of weeks while I load up on vitamin D, B12, and iron - deficient in all three and been feeling like hell warmed over. It is helping. I feel very nearly human this morning.

Take care.

While I do not have a MaineCoon, we have 5 house cats (that are both in and out cats) and 6 ferals (plus 3 new babies), and three of the males are large enough to kill and eat a Guinea, but all these animals grew up together and they do not bother each other at all. There's nearly 40 chickens walking around (all birds are free range on the whole property) and the cats don't bother them either. They will kill a rabbit (harder to catch than a chicken), but perhaps they know the chickens and Guineas are mine and the rabbits are theirs.

I seriously doubt they kill for sport - fresh meat is just better than kibble. Even though the Guineas/chickens are also known to be fresh meat, all the cats respect the wishes of the Pride Chief (leader of the pack) -- Me! You may eat the robins and the sparrows and the... but thou shalt not touch my chickens.

Well, Rich....is the glass house completed for the chicks?
I assume that is a reference to the Lexan flooring for the house chicken's cage? In which case, the answer is "not yet." I spent my whole day today chasing my new doctors around the V.A. hospital, so I will get around to finishing the "glass house" this weekend. :)

I had two tom cats. They had a love and hate relationship with one another. More often the elder was correcting was the younger. They would herd chickens but not bother them, the herding saw them at least two yards away from the chickens. They got preoccupied with bats for a bit, although not long.

Oh, that's right....forgot about the VA appointment.

How'd things go there?....or do you need to wait a few months for blood test results?

The first item on the agenda was the lab tests (they always provide complete results within two hours), then upstairs to the optometrist. The guy I had been seeing for the last 10-12 years apparently retired last Friday, so I was assigned to the new lady taking his place. That went fairly well and my new glasses will be mailed to me in three weeks. Dilating my eyes produced a problem for the remainder of the day, however (clear/sunny and hard to drive when your vision is fuzzy). Then off to see my regular primary care physician for the yearly checkup. After the nurse asked a hundred stupid questions, I met the new lady doctor who told me that my regular guy retired. Retired? Is this the new excuse? I told her I doubted that is what he did because he was about 15-20 years younger than me, so he probably just moved himself to private practice where he can make a lot more money than working with the VA. She grinned and said she couldn't comment on that. I chatted with her long enough to decide I can tolerate her to be my new regular doctor because she met all MY requirements. She started to go over the results of the blood and urine tests, a copy of which I was holding in my hand, and before she could say anything, I said, "The only things on this list that are not perfectly normal are a slightly elevated glucose and PSA, but they are lower than they were the last time." She said, "Obviously you know something about the medical field" and I gave her some of my history that she couldn't read in my computer file. Hey, if she's gonna be my new regular doctor, she has to know who/what/when/where and before I left she had decided this would be a good relationship. Then off to the grocery store for a couple items I missed during monthly shopping last week, then home, dinner, chores, and try to relax a bit. Eyes still haven;t returned to normal 100% (that dilation fluid has never lasted this long before), but nothing a good night's sleep won't fix. Got more than you asked for, huh? :D

We should be asking that of you, Eric. Did that eruption earthquake cause any serious damage (I don't trust the News).
Ironically my sources are from the news.. the lava burned a couple of houses and had some trembles followed by two 6+ earthquakes.. roads are spewing smoke and sulfur gases.. and couple of communities have been told to evacuate..
I didn’t feel any trembles in Honolulu but some people’s said they felt it..

It’s gonna be like this for a couple days..gonna get worse over there.

Well, wear your life vest for a few days, just in case the islands decide to sink.
(in other words, even though you aren't in the hot spot, do try to stay safe)

People are worried that a huge piece of land will slide into the ocean and cause a massive tsunami..
there no where to go since we are stuck on these islands..

So Rich, you tried those juices yet?

Yeah. Can't say I gave them a full-fledged test yet, but I tried each of them. All of them seem slightly lacking a zestiness, but they are still quite tolerable. I appear to like the same one you used the most of best (caramel waffle cappuccino). I plan to give each of them a full-tank test before making any modifications (like adding other flavors to make them pop a bit more). Seems to me there is always something one can do to add a bit of zip - I never throw anything away if it can be saved by simple chemistry.

When a doctor shows signs that s/he doesn't really know what the hell s/he is doing, I find someone else.

For example, when I made the statement (above) that she (new primary care physician) met MY requirements, that includes me asking questions that require them to do a bit of thinking. If they give me an answer straight out of the AMA guidebook, they don't pass. If they won't listen to my description of what I think is going on inside me and instead decide only they know what's wrong with me, they don't pass. If they always suggest a drug as the answer rather than discussing alternatives, they don't pass. She, in turn, asked me questions, such as whether I'd have my gall bladder removed (there's a couple small stones in there, but not getting any larger). I said, "Hell no! If you want those stones gone, you can remove the stones, but the standard procedure of removing the whole gall bladder just because of a couple tiny stones will never happen with me. That little filter is responsible for taking the liver toxins and disposing of them by re-inserting them in the duodenum so the body can dispose of them with other non-absorbable intestinal waste. The liver needs that thing and no one is going to remove it and put me on pills for life." She looked at me with a bit of awe and said, "You really do know a lot about your body and medical practices." Then she added, "And you're also quite willing to work outside the box. I like that." I think we'll get along just fine.

I had to have my gallbladder removed about 10 yrs ago, due to a tumor in the bile duct of the pancreas....no cancer, but no gallbladder either. Doesn't seem to bother me much thank goodness, every once in awhile I'll need a digestive enzyme, but I make them myself. Fermented food.

They also told me at the mayo clinic I'd need to take insulin the rest of my life....after researching alternative medicine, no more insulin needed either. Wish I'd known what I know now, prior to my fling at the mayo clinic.

Nice that you are aware you can do it yourself. Most people just believe the doctors and spend the rest of their lives on some stupid pill.
Wish I'd known what I know now
Ah, the dream we all have about so many aspects of our lives.... If I'd known then what I know now... no, I would not have fucked up anyhow. Most of my aches and pains simply would not be here today. I guess it all depends on how long it takes us to "wake up."
