If the SX mini ever becomes available in a single 26650 version, I could see myself shelling out $150 for it. $190 would still be a stretch, but having the capacity for a 26650 battery is a must-have for me to at least start thinking about it.

I'm going to guess that they will hit the $159 price point; maybe a hair lower, but not much. I'm sure Vaper Joe will keep us updated when that happens lol

From a quality, performance, and efficiency standpoint, I can fault neither the rDNA nor the SXmini. However, I strongly prefer the feature set of YiHi's new board over that of Evolv's. Aesthetically and ergonomically, the mini wins for me hands down. I'm honestly not trying to participate in a "My vaporizer vaporizes better and more stylishly than your vaporizer!" argument, I'm just relating my personal feelings for these two devices, having spent a generous amount of quality time with both of them.

I'm absolutely positive that there are many vapers who, upon experiencing what each of these devices has to offer, would prefer the rDNA. If we all liked the same thing, everyone would be producing the same thing and we wouldn't have the choices we're blessed with today.

One question, Retrox: How big is the 510 connector? (Or) How wide is the mod? Will it look stupid with the Kanger Sub Tank @ 25mm?

NVM From the pictures I am thinking that it would look pretty dumb.

Ah, I just missed your question and left the office where my caliper lives. If I had to guess, I'd say the top cap is about 23, maybe 23.5mm. So yeah, you'd be looking at a tiny bit of overhang. The enclosure flares out another couple of mm beyond the front of the top cap though (check around the 2:50-3:00 mark of my video) so I don't think the Sub Tank would stick out beyond that. I'll post more precise measurements tomorrow.

And really, how could that Sub Tank possibly look stupid on anything?!

Interested in it myself, but I've hit my monthly limit for buying things that haven't been reviewed yet. ;)

Ah, never mind, I see the final revision HAS been reviewed! Um... BRB.

Oh well, that is not a deal breaker. I am still trying to negotiate one down to about 175. Meanwhile I ordered one of these 25mm Lunar Mods for the Sub Tank to sit upon:

I'm not a cloud chaser either but lately the Atlantis takes about 36 watts to get warmed up, for me. I vape it with the air on the smallest hole.

18mg at 25w gives a pretty good hit. It has aloud me to drop from 36mg I use in the russian. I'm not a cloud chaser, I'm a 40 year ex-smoker that needs my nic fix.;)
I started at 18mg, 4 months ago. Now anything over 9 makes me feel like I have strep throat.
I drip between 3-6, and tank at 9 (but going to 6 as that's killing me as well).

I actually went 3 days with no nic and I didn't feel any different until the 4th day.

I find the Atlantis lacks flavor though compared to a KF or Squape.

I use the biggest air hole and it lung hits almost as good as my drilled out igo-w.

Not a flavor junky either. I only get to take a few hits every few hours at work so 36 to 42 has been better for me instead of hot boxing 2 or 3 cowboy killers. I see no point in 0 or low nic. If I get to that point I'll just quit.

Well, when you are dripping and using 15-20ml per day you may find 3mg very pleasent.

Okay, got some measurements:

Top cap is 22.9mm in diameter.
Total width of enclosure is 25mm.
Total depth of enclosure (from front of screen to back) is 42mm.
Total height of enclosure is 89mm.
Total height of device including top cap is 94mm.

Try dripping 18 - 36mg and you wont use 15 - 20ml a day.
I've tried, nearly fried my lungs. I am more of a cloud chaser, can't do that with anything over 3mg.

Ok this is what I did to upload this from my Android. I started as if I was going to text someone a picture of this mod, as I snap a picture of it in the text message it automatically converts it, shrinks it. I don't send it I just highlight it in the message, and save to device. Then I go back to the board, select upload a file and chose it. There are probably smarter ways of doing this like apps and such, but this was pretty easy.

Ordered mine yesterday, should be in next week. Got a two tone Carbon Fiber decal @ Jwrap also (black&gray), all the vendors who have them in stock and ship to Canada only have them in gray.... Hope this thing is as good as it look's, little Xmast present from me to me :)

Ugh, yeah, bad time of the year to be mailing stuff across borders I reckon.

Hang in there fellas, and I hope your experiences are as positive as mine have been. I've been using it to the exclusion of nearly every other device I own (not likely to ever stop using my brass Ray/TOBH clone combo :p). I'm hard at work to fund my first purchase of the new year, which will be a Mini in gray. Left hand is getting jealous.

Don't shoot the messenger but I think it's worse than 4 days. My Kayfun V4 bought day 1 from cloud9.uk hit stateside on the 13th and is still sitting in Chicago where it landed. I'm about to blow a gasket!

To anyone who has the sx-mini, is there any information in the manual or warranty card indicating who or where the one year warranty will be handled thru. Hopefully someplace in the U.S. will be handling repairs or replacements other than Asmodus.

Welcome to the club, compile. I've rounded up a pile of stuff to PIF/sell thanks to this little mod.

Grumpy, I only know of 2 returns so far for units from the first batch that had a firmware issue that YiHi is aware of. Both were handled through the merchants where the units were purchased and both were replaced within a week or so.

Now I just need to replace this shitty Atlantis with a Squape R and I'm golden.

This sure is an attractive mod, I hope they put in a temperature control chip version in here soon. Until then I'm on hold..

I don't see a need at all for temperature control, I never get dry hits unless my RDA or RTA are dry or poorly wicked.

Nickel wire is simply not robust enough to withstand the kind of abuse I dish out without having to tear down and rebuild every couple of days. And the prospect of rebuilding every couple of days with nickel pains my ass enough to make me not want to do it.

Ok so I received it .. it's an attractive device, although the construction is not flawless. I have yet to put a battery in it, but I plan to read the user manual and get to it in a bit.

I was real interested in this mod but I wanted to check a few things out as far as warranty / repair before spending 200 bucks. From the information I was able to obtain the mod has to be shipped back to China for any repair or replacement. I did find one retailer who stated he would replace it under warranty for the first three months, however after that it would have to be sent to China as YiHi has no U.S. locations.

A quick check with U.S.P.S. shows about $50 to $75 for postage. Unfortunately I won't be pulling the trigger on this one.

Priority International Flat Rate box is $23.50 to China if you trust the USPS enough to forego insurance. ;)

But yes, Grumpy, I would say it's a good idea for anyone with concerns about the warranty to present them directly to the merchant with whom they are considering a purchase. Personally, I'm more interested in how easily I can perform minor repairs myself if necessary. Jury is still out on this.

I have one of these on the way, but since I'm new to this type of mod what battery would you recommend to use?

I'm using whatever flattops I have laying around, anywhere from a Sony VTC 4/5 to Blue Samsungs.

I got a new wrap for it from JWraps. I'll admit I was getting a little bored of the appearance for some reason, but still haven't put it down. Like it better now with this.

Thanks for the reply as I'll be needing to purchase some(along with a charger), but I really don't know much about them.

Linger: Ideally, you'll want batteries with at least a 20 amp continuous discharge capability, and this is doubly important if you're a high-wattage vaper. Samsung INR18650-25R, Sony VTC4, Sony VTC5, and LG 18650HE2 are my top picks. I do use a couple of Panasonic NCR18650PD's mainly because of the higher capacity, even though they're only rated for 10A continuous. Haven't had a problem, but I usually vape between 15-30 watts on those batteries. Any higher and I pop in an LG or a VTC for the extra headroom.

As for chargers, I'm not recommending anything but Xtar these days. The Xtar VC2 and VP4 are top shelf gear. Don't skimp on the charger, a good one will maximize the lifespan of your batteries and minimize the chances of catching you on fire. ;)
