Phillip wasn't happy about having to pick me up and put me in my recliner. I didn't ask him to. I knew he was hurting.

You both need to take it easier and take better care of yourselves.
At least we found out he doesn't have anything wrong with his heart. It's gotta be either stress, or diabetes causing his issues. Or, something else we don't know about yet.

OMG Rich! I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.

Sarah, I hope you feel better

I just realized I need to work more. Just can't get motivated to sign up. The bastards promised me a sign up bonus for a weekend I did back in Sept. 2 paydays and still not paid. The bastards will not get any more out of me. I canceled plans to work knowing I was getting paid extra. I suppose I hate liars..especially management. I know what I need to do. Work less but at the same time I need funding to pay for my car transmission. Catch 22

Well, I'm not broke (yet), just tired and stressed. Maybe I don't qualify to be an Old Phart just yet. ;)

Compounding our problems are the three new kittens that now live in the house. OMG, I AM too old for young kids! They're like little furry terrorists, and worse yet, our Teddy kitty, who's a year and a half old now and HAD been a nice calm adult-type cat, has reverted to kittenhood with their influence, so there are really FOUR little furry terrorists wreaking havoc all over. Nothing is safe from them. NOTHING. A few minutes ago, one of them jumped from the floor and did a spiderman thing on my back. I think I only have like three shirts left with no holes in them, and now I think it might only be two. I definitely think there are some holes in my back, but those will heal.

It's cold and windy and snowing like hell this morning (not blizzard-like, just regular, but still snow), so today I'm going to wimp out and let Evelyn do the milking for me. I hope she's big enough to take all of it now. My guess is Cricket is making somewhere around 4 to 5 gallons a day, and I'm bringing in around 2 of those gallons every morning, but I'm just beat right now, and with this nasty weather, I think I'll just let Evelyn give it a go. I'll throw them some hay and sit and vape and make sure everything is OK, then finish the rest of the chores and back to the house. I have plenty of milk stockpiled in the fridge, so missing a day here and there won't hurt. My only hesitation is that Cricket is prone to getting mastitis if she's not milked out thoroughly every day, but she's fine right now, so maybe she'll be fine even if Evelyn doesn't get her totally empty. I guess we'll see.

This is why I like to have the cows calve in the fall, so during the nasty winter weather, I can let the calves do the milking for me if I don't feel like it. Most people prefer to have their cows calve in spring, so they make good milk from the summer grasses to grow big fat calves, but I'm a lazy milker. ;) And it's totally not pleasant to be obligated to milk every day, whether it's 20 below and there's a blizzard howling, or not. I like to choose. :D

Come to think of it, since I'm only taking half the morning milk, I'm adjusting my estimate of Cricket's production to 5 to 6 gallons a day. It might be more than that, she always holds some back for her baby, even if I trick her into letting down. Evelyn will most likely get the runs, but she sleeps in a stall in the barn, so what do I care? HA! I don't!

Hope your doing better today, @Draconigena....!
Forcing myself (mentally) to see myself as being OK and trying to do more each day to take more load off of Lannie. No, I am not truly recovered, but I am convincing myself that I am, so I am doing things I would not do if I still believe I am sick. Does that make sense to you folks? Anyway, I am heading in the right direction. Now all I have to do is remember which planet I am living on....

Makes perfect sense to me, I think we all knew your not one to be sitting-laying around, even if Lannie insisted.

I was once told by a female doctor that this is the only pain a man can have (a kidney stone too large to pass through the ureter) that exceeds the pain a woman has during a difficult child birth. I can attest to the fact that, of all the pains I have had in life from whatever cause, this is one that will make you scream and cry no matter how big and tough you try to be.

My brother had the same problem, had tears in his eyes.

have you seen and of his recent video's Rich? He has gotten a little more radical
Lannie and I still follow occasionally, though I cannot say I have watched every single thing he has put out lately. I do advise some caution, however, because sometimes he goes way overboard when some issue rubs him the wrong way. Just use your own common sense as to how far you ride Mike's train before you need to get off at the next station to take a breath of fresh air. He is a human being, not prefect, and is occasionally prone to mistakes (as are we all).
