The Secret to Weight Loss

if you wanna lose weight, do it now.
using more calories than you take in worked most of my life.
but when you get crippled up n spend most of the day on the couch,
it no longer works.
once you stop moving around, losing weight is impossible.
I agree with you , in my younger years I was very strong and active, I am less active and have no desire to build up a lot of muscle that would need to be maintained. I also have no faith in the Healthcare industry so I have to be more active in my health since I will be managing it. I treat all of this journey as part B of my retirement plan

PS you can fast, , you don't actually have to exercise for fasting to work ..moving is just more optimal

I can't do the 18 hour (18/6)..I get all messed up,, so I do 23/1. But I would like to work my way to 3/1days, water fast 3.days & eat 1 day. On the 1day I would eat pretty heavy but still on the healthy side. We figured we saved $400a month for Aug /Sept -December from my fasting. Not eating out,, my husband just ate whatever we had in the freezer /pantry,, sometimes he would order food or go to the store

it almost seems a shame to stop a fast after 3 days.
when i tried that, all hunger was gone by the third day.
my doc said more than one day is not medicallly recommended, at least for me.

I hate ending fasts,,

I hope your doctor is planning to cure you,, very few people would be harmed going over 1 day,,, many doctors are harmed in the pocket book when people discover their bodies are smart and are pre-programmed for healing itself... IE type 2diabetes takes 2weeks to 3 months

i just looked up naturopath.
that sounds great.
never heard of them
probably available only in big cities.

i guess i have to be my own doc.
mine gives me pain meds to keep me moving.
i couldn't live alone without them, but nobody tries curing me.

If you suffer from pain, I'd suggest Kratom...it's better than any opioid, and not addicting

That's the problem with MDs these days - they cure very few conditions or diseases, they just give you drugs to mask the symptoms that often cause other problems

If you can't find a good naturopath, see if you can find a good chiropractor.

I used to think they were quacks, but many are actually very gifted healers and are experts in natural remedies and food as medicine

thanks for the tips.
kratom does work, but only in combination with narcotics.
others seem to get better results.

you know, chiropractors are available out here on the plains.
i think i'll go see one.

Spent several days in December and parts of January walking the line of underweight. Fasted all Christmas week,, no I didn't eat Christmas. I'm finishing up a refeeding cycle now and plan to water fast again in a couple of days while slipping in a few days of dry fasting then return to water fasting to make the whole process easier on my body.

Water fasting aides in weight loss
Dry fasting is for healing and is 3xs more powerful than water fasting

You can water fast 1day for every pound you want to lose
Dry fasting is something you need to work up to... It's not easy and shouldn't be for long periods of time

My long dry fasts tend to last 6days Max,, 3days is pretty common and a few people have done 12days,,just like vaping there are groups for fasting.

Dry fasting really has to be built upon,, IE the first time I did it,, 1day was all I could do ...next time I did 3days but kept my mouth moist. .now I can go dry all the way.

In the dry fast community there is a 'grade' /level :
Soft dry fast=you can wash your hands, brush your teeth and shower
Hard dry fast=you cant do any of the items listed in soft dry fast

Personally I did only soft dry fasting,, my hygiene means something to me :)
When you end a fasting routine, you slowly drink water with a teaspoon of baking soda ,,wait awhile then drink more water.. For dry fasting you may end up water fasting another day to prepare your body for food

Food needs to be soft and healthy not junk and sugary .

Anyway just an update for anyone interested.

Good to hear you're doing well! Just wanted to say, take care with the dry fasting thing. Seems to me to be an unhealthy practise for mammals, but that's just me :)

Actually it's very healing. All of your toxins and diseases are stored in your fat cells..your body creates a bulldozer effect dumping the fat to get to the water. And again this is utilized by many active religions. Meanwhile your body runs around eating up your wrinkles.dead near dead cells for protein. Dry fasting should not be used for real long periods of time. I lose my voice when it's time to stop..your body will tell you. After all it is a smart machine.

i bet you live in a humid area.
here, there is seldom any water in the air.
sometimes, it hurts to breathe.

for that matter, local cowboys always watch the color of their pee.
too dark means you drink more water or risk passing out.
you must know what you are doing, but i fear you risk death.

Yes I live in a humid area..i am quite aware of the colored pee issue..you don't pee or poop much when dry fasting. Google and YouTube have more information for those interested..even doctors trying to optimize the body abilities to heal itself. I have granddaughters so I am quite motivated to live a long healthy life not following mainstream propaganda

is there a theory explaining why restricting water aids healing?
sounds contraintuitive.

Google and YouTube. I have already posted information

I think Susiqz is looking for specific sources from those mediums - as it's easy stumble onto quackery vs solid, vetted professionals with alternative advice

I hear ya kross8, I did Google it and found the same info.

The food fasting is cool. That has been done in various ways by a lot of people over a long time. It doesn't make sense to me, I chose to eat about every 3 hours through the day and that works well for me, but again that's just me.

It's the water fasting that concerns me. We have not evolved to handle that well, unlike camels :) . I was an avid cyclist for decades and I know from experience and the research I did all about dehydration and the negative effects that has on our bodies. I'm always aware of my hydration level and never let it get too low.

To the best of my knowledge no religion promotes water fasting for more than half a day at a time and even that is rare. Please correct me if I got that wrong.

I'm not here to tell anyone what is right or wrong for them, just wanted to say be careful. Kidney and general dehydration information is easy to find on the interwebs. IMO it's pretty straight forward stuff with a lot of research backing it up.

Take care, stay safe, and best of luck with it all

Dr Jason Fung talks about eating too often, like it's a sure path to diabetes unless your activity level can justify it.

Before we became domesticated we didn't carry water bottles and eat daily.

I don't think it is a good idea to restrict the body. A agree to not eat crap but don't agree with the dieting since fats are still useful for the body. The people found a lot of tricks (that in the end turn out to be scams) just to escape moving (exercising). Dieting might help reach the goal but it hits only the fat. Exercising, on the other hand, hits the brain, the muscles and the fat. A triple hit. There are several suppliments that help can help you on that. SARMs are one of them (more aboout them on trickortreatment). It is basically like a multivitamin that you use to supply your body.

Too much like fiction to not laugh. *chuckles* Sure let me go buy what Umbrella labs is hawking. No, no reason at all to think it would cause some kind of apocalyptic danger, only several Resident Evil movies.

For me, Umbrella Labs is the best place to buy SARMs online, because they just tick so many of the boxes I just talked about, to guarantee quality. One of the best SARMs company you can find online.

Keto & carnivore diets are all about higher fats,, which is exactly what the old diet community made into a bad guy.
I'll have to pass on suppliments until the can be proven to heal or at then least until prove the creator has perfect health &body. help me or they may make the manufacturer rich.

Just an update,, I spent most of the year 130-135,, with 3 visits to 111,, I went 111-130 3 times on purpose to suck out deep fat around my organs. I feel it did the job,, when I came back up to 130 I had surface fat ,, I could feel it. -but thats what I wanted so that I could really see future fat status and loss. The past several weeks I seem to linger 125-130 ( I'm 5'5) , fasting now,, end goal is 115-120 as I feel my body is at a good balance of fat to muscle at that weight.

Its been a very interesting journey,, learned hacks that will always be useful,, learned a lot about my own self discipline. And just like vaping- there is quite a bit of health ignorance out there,, people who wont think outside of the propaganda they were taught growing up.

Anyway,, plan to update again in the new year.

I'm still struggling to lose weight. I am on a low carb/keto type of diet (since 2/2018) however, its hard since I have taken prednisone numerous months during this time. I am still maintaining but need to lose more. My doctor is titrating me off the prednisone again. It will take another month to get off of the med.

I do IF and Zero carb days. Care to share any other ideas to melt off weight around the belly? I work a high intense job (rehab nurse) so I think I'm getting a little exercise.

Congrats on your weight loss/health adventure! Self discipline is key!
P.S. I stick to less than 20 carbs a day. I do have a few planned cheat meals. Next one will be Jan 1.

Sleep,,, since 1995 I tend to get 4-6 hours,, I'm fine turns out your brain wants more to up your metabolism. For me that means finding herbs or whatever to help me sleep.

When I fast but don't sleep well, I lose 1.5-2 pounds a day,,, when I get deep sleep I can lose more bloat and fat,, 3+,, I lost 5pounds in 1 day while fasting which was a lot of bloating,, It's interesting to see how your body responds to everything

Imagine a gallon of milk,,, now picture it as a gallon of water,, compare that baby to your stomach,,, most women are holding 1gal(=8 pounds) of water bloat. Water your body doesn't need,,, but hangs onto anyway. If you can cut all carbs for a week,,, eat fatty meats & eggs With salt +potassium+ magnesium suppliments,,, ("nosalt/salt substitute is potassium!) You will flush the unwanted water out,,, you will also get yourself into a better keto state. Once in deep ketosis,, fasting is pretty easy,, no appetite for days,,, and if you go no carbs in the week before fasting you have practically no headaches in the conversion into ketosis.

Meat + salt creates chemical war,,, salt always loses,, your body uses the water bloat to flush it out.

Thanks! It does sound doable.
Try a change in your breathing,, it works your stomach muscles... Every time you inhale,,, breath deep into your belly,, oxygenation helps with fat burn,,, also try to tolerate being warm,, fat is heated to be melted. I used this a lot when dry fasting,,, every fat cell has 3 or 4 water cells,, when my body went looking for spare water it dumped the fat to get to the water

I agree with people that are saying that we need to lose weight. I don't want to offend anyone, but we should all accept that the obesity can cause serious health problems, and we should fight it. Except people with chronic ilnesses, there are no fat people - only people that don't want to make sports, lazy people. Common, there are even lots of substances that can help you, like protein, SARMs, creatine and lots of different stuff, that is not damaging your health. On https://narcoculture.com/sarms-for-sale you can find really good and pure stuff that wil increase your power and stamina and it will be easier to do the trainings
I don't train. I have a autoimmune disease that is kicking my ass. I'm lucky I can manage to go to work. However, I'm strictly low carb/keto-ish. If I can ever get over the fatigue that is caused by this irreversible disease (AIH) I will gladly work out. Until then, I will continue my weight loss journey. :)

I think that everyone has their own secrets for losing weight. I will say personally for mine:
Drink a lot of water
No flour
No sweets
Active lifestyle
Victoza (removed spam link )medication for quick weight loss
2 meals a day
Calorie deficit
Healthy sleep

A good diet, sports and a proper daily routine helped me lose weight. It was difficult, but I managed. It was difficult in the beginning. I often forgot to drink my vitamins I couldn't do a full workout, I often allowed myself to eat junk food. But I was able to overcome myself and it helped me achieve a great result

I lost 130 pounds in 4 and a half months using an organic carrot juice fast. I originally did it to fight my cancer and the weight just fell off and as a bonus I even allowed myself 2 huge salads every day after the first week, I had to make a special dressing ANY dressing you buy that is pre-made will not do. If anyone wants the juice and dressing recipe just tag me and I would be glad to help you out.
The thing about a carrot juice fast is you get your full day of nutrients with almost zero carbs or fats.
