Someone on the vandy vape facebook group said they got theirs to stop leaking by tighting up the deck using pliers on the part right above the airflow control ring and I assume another pair of pliers somewhere on the deck. He said he turn 1/4 turn I didn't try it because I didn't want to mar the atomizer

You know, I was thinking, and what you just said lends to it. That there's an issue with design and or manufacturing the design. Getting the part that directs the AF to be installed correctly. @Mykreign had 1 with that part badly misaligned(pic in post 55),and mine that seeped no matter what and this new one doesn't made me think of it, and now this tightening of the deck...

I think this atomizer is junk. A guy on the facebook group got his deck replaced and no leaking for a couple of weeks then started leaking.

Just a thought for everyone having issues. I would try wicking it like vaping with Vic does in his videos.

I actually like this tank for the fact that it's extremely easy for me to wick (more so than my Kylin mini) and it will not leak! I mean when I say no leaking I mean I'm as confident that it won't leak in my pocket than my Crown 4 sub ohm tank.

Maybe even more so because sometimes I have to inhale a bit hard on my crown 4 to control the juice flow since I can't wick it myself to control it. This can lead to gurgling and potentially leaking.

I'm not sure if this is due to the wicking method or due to the fact that I bought it a little while after it came out. Maybe they resolved some of these issues people are talking about.

So yeah I'm getting stellar flavor and I can fit two 6 wrap 3mm hex core claptons fairly easily in there! Kind of ridiculous having a tank ohm out at .10 lol but flavor is on point and it works. Haven't gotten a single dry hit and when I wicked it the first time I got it spot on.

Every time I've wicked it I've had zero dry hits even with chain vaping and a successful wicking job every time I've rewicked. So it may be worth trying his half damming method he uses if you're ready to throw the thing at a wall haha.

Replacement Kylin 2 arrived today after the leaking issue with the 1st tank wasn’t given the option of a refund just received a new tank in the post today. I have to say I love this tank but will not risk ruining a £200 mod due to juice ingresss just because I love the tank.
2 tank fulls of juice down with the extended bubble glass and no leaking using the supplied coils and Wotofo 3mm cotton at 60 watts am hoping the original tank was just a bad build by Vandy Vapes, I did email them 2 weeks ago but received no reply replacement was supplied by original retailer in the UK so not impressed with Vandy vape themselves.
Spent 30 minutes installing the coils and cotton to be absolutely sure no wicking issues and will update this post when either I get a leak or in two weeks when life is good either way will let you all know.

I'll probably hate myself in the morning (boy do I have to stop spending money), but I broke down and ordered a frosted grey Kylin V2 a little while ago.

Yeah well, misery loves company :giggle:

New replacement arrive yesterday leaking today after about 6 tanks through it the only thing I changed was I lowed the watts from 70 to 57 with the supplied coils, would this cause the leak wasn’t getting and spit back or gurgle what’s everyone else running at.

I don't think wattage would have anything to do with leaking. There was a person that got a new deck and worked for a few days then started leaking. When i was using mine I had .14 ohm build at about 80w I guess. Using a pwm mod so no way to tell. I love these mods

I don't think I'm walking into this conversation with the definitive last word on ANYthing, I'm just reporting what I've found.

This tank is great. There is a whole list of excellent pros here imho.

Killer flavor and vapor production, not the least.

I got it to compare to the Hugsvape Lotus.

Flavor? That's a tough one to call. They both deliver tremendous juicy flavor. If I had to pick right now, I might give the slightest of edges to the K2, but this is based on the fact that I already am getting pretty even flavor with the Lotus and I don't think I've gotten the wicking to optimum just yet, which brings me to the next point.

With this RTA you have to get the wicking just so. First time I was getting no leaking, but pretty muted flavor. I opened it up and the cotton was damp, but pretty white in color. Not enough juice getting to the coils, so of course I figured too much cotton in the wells (I won't get into wicking details right now)

Next rewick, explosive flavor, but now I'm getting leaking out of the airflow holes. Not bad, but irritating dribbling. Nothing out of the bottom though in either case. So then of course I figure now it's too loose in the airflow holes. I take it apart and try something else between the first and second wicking.

Tremendous flavor now, no leaking, but I need the tank to be over 1/3 full so the back-pressure can push juice into the wicks and to the coils. This is great, I'm moving in the right direction and as it is, this is a REALLY great vape with no leaking, but I think another slight tweak in the cotton might be even better. Very happy with this atty so far.

What about compared to the Lotus?

I can only be honest. The Lotus does all this and it's just as hard to wick wrong as this one is to wick right. I've had three builds in it and a few changes of cotton, plus I got my gym owner to order a pair of Lotuses so I could keep him going, so I've got some experience with wicking the Lotus now. Never had one single drop of leaking and the flavor is stellar every time. Including the very first time I set mine up.

Like I say, if I'm right about a further tweak in the cotton, the flavor of the Kylin II will slightly edge out the Lotus I think. The Lotus wins on low maintenance wicking.

I love this tank and am thrilled that I bought it. It will gladly be in my regular rotation from now on. I hit it again just now and it is immensely flavorful and satisfying. Not only that, but with my black Goon DT on it (actually from one of my Goons) the frosted grey has this kinda industrial look on my also black Aegis Legend :) Love the look too.

Wow. Glad I read this thread because I did have interest in the v2 but not anymore. As long as VV continues to not give a toss about QC then they can keep their leaky faucets. So glad I don't own any VV products.

Really hope you all can get the leak issue resolved. :)

Forgot to mention...

I've watched the reviews by all the popular usual suspects and not one of them said anything about leaks. Not one! Unsubscribed to all of them because this confirms they are all full of shit and aren't really reviewers, just product promoters.

Let's don't get carried away just yet. It appears that the new runs have addressed this issue. Mine hasn't leaked at all and it's a great tank.

Also, I've seen all the major reviewers report leaks in the past. I can't believe they ALL just colluded to save this one.

In fact I had mine out with me working all day on my aegis today and no leaking whatsoever.

I really hope VV has fixed the issue since you and others already have it and enjoy it. But this shows me that VV is still having QC issues and has done nothing to resolve it on their end. It's bit just Kylin v1+2, the bonza had problems that should have easily been caught by their QC department... if they had one.

As for the reviewers. No collusion. But it's obvious they aren't "testing" the products for weeks as they say they are. Or did they somehow get the good v2's that don't leak? No offense to you or anyone else but I'm still calling bullshit on these reviewers.

Ok, but how do you do QC on individual tanks without filling and using each one? It's not like a regulated mod where you can power it on and see that it works. Maybe they do need to test more frequent samples as they come off the line, I don't know.

This stuff is done with machining and tooling that wears after a while. I could see a batch or two slipping through as the tooling wears, but yes, they should be on top of that. The only problem with the Bonza was the o-ring tolerances that are better but still not great on the 1.5. The airflow is quite a bit easier and the bottom tightness is easily fixed by taking off the top ring of the pair.

this is where their QC standards are not up to par. In manufacturing the tolerances are supposed to be checked frequently to be sure the parts are still in their plus or minus range, which they aren't doing nearly often enough. Good grief the v2 even had problems with the airflow not lining up? Come on, that's ridiculous.

maybe I'm used to the high manufacturing standards here in the US but when I purchase a product I shouldn't have to fix the manufactures defective garbage and shouldn't have to deal with leaks because of their loose tolerances.

I know this won't be a popular take on the Kylin but I wouldn't accept one of it were sent to me for free. Not worth the hassle and aggravation. Too many other quality products out there I would rather spend my money on.

I'll go ahead and stop there since I've already gone too far as it is. :)

Most of the good reviewers do use the product for a month. You can't put blame on them they reviewed a sample not the retail version. Vandy Vape has crappy quality control. I have a pyro 24 the airflow can't be adjusted. How does that not get checked? I got a OFRF Gear RTA after the Kylin V2 its only downside is even with bubble tank it only holds 3.5ml

Well that's mighty big of you sir, but you certainly didn't offend me at least.

I wonder if these companies do their own actual manufacturing, or if they contract it out to somebody else?

I thank you kindly sir. :)

I'm curious about that as well. I have seen reviewers point out certain things in the past that have made me wonder. Things like the top cap of an rta being slightly off color from the base ( I think the blue aqua reboot was one) and other rtas where the color of the stainless steel parts were different from one another.

If these companies are outsourcing each component to different companies it would explain the variations we see.

Had mine now for 2+ months never had a problem with leaking untill a week ago and has decided to leak all the time to the point that it has got in the mod and is short circuiting. Really annoyed as had the v1 and as we no that was terrible and thought they had got it right with this 1 but obviously not so it's a new mod and tank that will not be any thing by vandy vape ever again

People should give RDTAs a chance. Vandy Vape has the Pyro v2 that has 4ml tank but is squonkable so you have 12ml before you have to refill if using a squonk mod.

That’s my point I run two boxes both £199 plus am I going to risk damaging them for a £29 tank no matter how good it is ?
Absolutely. Nobody should tolerate their £199 pound mod being ruined by any atomizer that costs less than half a crown. :)

It doesn't work was dry for hours and leaking badly again today I was told the leaking problem was solved but it isn't, it's a shame as the tank vapes great but already ruined a mod my advise would be leave well alone and buy something that isn't made by vandy vape

What you mean ruin your mod

Can the mod get broken when the juice traven inside the 510? I only get juice around and maybe a little down to the connection?

From the amount of juice leaking over time it's made its way into the mod through the fire button and battery door and now my mods short circuiting I stopped using the v1 kylin cause of this
