Some clues on the image issues. I tried this in Firefox and Opera.

If I log out of my account, the images previously posted as full images show up as thumbnail;s, but the paths to the full images are dead. A resized thumbnail is in the post, but no other function related to those images works. When logged into my account these thumbnails show up as the raw text filename of the image only. No path or anything else.

I am no expert, but this seems to an issue with the way the new software is interpreting the database.

What complicates this is that it's not for all images and there's doesn't seem to be readily discernible common denominator that determines which are which. This may not actually be an easy thing to fix.

Maybe it's because images of a certain size were uploaded to a cdn and images under that size were uploaded directly to the VU host? Maybe?

Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about: Just trying to provide some clues.

Seems fine here, using desktop Waterfox 2020.07 x64 on Linux.

I did see that I was unable to preview a post, attach images, or insert medi. Although it composed and posted fine. No issues with quoting either here.

Yep. Works in opera. Must be my installation of Firefox.

FWIW, the main header/banner image is still linked to the non-https URL.
BUT, when I clicked it, it worked and I wasn't logged out like I was before the move, so the cookies are behaving well.

Weird, now I'm able to preview this post, but not the one I just did in a food thread. Hmm.

Is there any way to block VUbot from showing up in New Posts using the Tapatalk app? I'm not interested in any of those weird news posts that have nothing to do with vaping. I tried ignoring VUbot, but I got an error message saying that I can't block staff members, even though it's a bot not a person I'm trying to ignore.

I can't seem to view your attachment either. Using latest desktop Waterfox on Linux.
Haven't used the Win7x64 PC in awhile. Don't really use my cell phone for surfing.

Pretty much everything that is really necessary seems to be working though.

Right. I had that function on an SMF forum years ago. A little arrow that quickly auto-scrolled to the top of the page. It was a plugin, or else you could insert the code in the files yourself.

Odd, I just tried the site using my Win7 Waterfox install that is one version increment behind the Linux one I'm using now and that big arrow thingy was there. So, IDK...no biggie.

Well now I'm really confused...LOL

After loading the site using a completely different browser version on a different OS but on the same network, the arrow is showing now using THIS Linux PC. I hadn't logged out or anything and did not log-in on the WIn7 browser. Damn odd.

Probably not a VU issue, more likely browser/script blocking/etc. differences.

I have about 10 plugins to find for this version of Xenforo. We have the donate one, there is a trading system. Many of the older plugins became part of the forum software, so we dont need them anymore. Problem is we have to find out which ones they are This is whats is going to take a bit of time. Its partly my fault for not upgrading the forum sooner but it's a monumental task. Not only upgrading the software but converting everything over to SSL was another big thing. Everyone was clambering for SSL. So now you have it

Tappy doesn’t want to do it. Hmm, maybe I’ll see about using a browser, but it’s easy with Tappy.

FOR IMAGES WITHIN POSTS:

We have still not completed the full data dump from the old VU. All those pictures are still being moved from the old server to the new server. Different encoding and such. This will happen automatically and the images will return. We just have a 6 years of vape memes to download.

We thought it would take a day or so. We are still downloading!

I’m using iOS on a Pad, so there’s no cursor. If I use a browser, I could prolly get it. But I’m too lazy lately to use a laptop even. Lockdown slothfulness.

I have moderated on various other forums, email mailing lists, even worked part time volunteering as a systems administrator (at the time I was not aware that was what I was doing). I've done so well too. I don't get hammer heavy, though ones who merit a brushing do know I'm capable.

I concur, it is distracting in the peripheral vision. I get into this mode of wanting to swat something, that and the bouncy red ball. Get rid of them or give us options to ... ah.

There's no "up arrow" at the bottom of pages, to make it fast to scroll to the top.

And it's weird... in the URL bar, it says "not secure," though the URL shows the https rather than just http. No idea what's up with that.

I've been messing with UBlock, AdBlock and three other extensions trying to block it... uninstalled the others... did you find a way to select the entire button bar to block it in UB? Or did you have to block several separate elements to get the whole thing blocked? Thanks!
