Tried the FLV Ginger Snap Cookie today. Had a month steep. Mixed at 4% and its pretty weak flavour wise. Hardly any perceptible ginger flavour. My misses said the same. Its an ultra dark mix too. I cant help but feel Im getting an oh so slightly soapy aftertaste as well.
Mixed at 4%. I dont think I'll bother pursuing this one any further. It smells better as a concentrate than it tastes vaping to me. I could up the ratio but im not sure I can be bothered. And what if that soapyness increased ?
Pretty dark isnt it! Id imagine it'd be very dark brown approaching black at higher % levels.
Im gonna give this one a miss.

woah.... that is pretty high.

If it helps. I use it between .12% and maybe .4%
Ginger snap is more like the inside dough of what makes a snap.. you need to add some cookie to it.

one of my ginger snap cookie recipes here: https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/3698025/Smoky Blue's Gingers Snap back!

and this might help you for next time.. it is my rate of use.. check it out..

Also.. any time you get an off taste.. or if the flavor dies, or taste like something not expected.. chances are.. you are using too much..

Ok, thanks. I'll give it one more try low.
Do you get to taste the actual Ginger part of it?

True ginger snap. Think of it like the rich cinnamon.. you do not need but a few drops.
The ginger and molasses are just right.. and when you add the cookie.. it's just like grandmothers.

Frosting and sugar orchid make a nice frosted ginger snap too.. stay low with flv and you will be fine :)

Diluted it down to 1.8%. Worked out how much to take out and put some sugar cookie 1.5%. Nowhere near as dark now.
Another wait.

Good luck to you. :)
Most my mixes are between 1-5 days for steep time. I have a few that might push 12 days..
nothing longer than that. AT 1.8% tho.. eh.. lol.. Like I said.. I use it between 1-3 drops in 30ml.
.06% - .20% I might have a few older recipes that I tried .4%.. but it really is too much for any kind of juice. AT least for me.

I'll wait a week and if not happy will cut it down 50%. What do you think with doing it that way? Would it be different from having started low?
At least the majority of the base will have steeped well. :giggle:
Will have learnt a few things along the way too regardless.
I'll let you know how it goes in a weeks time.
Thanks again for the help. ?

Being as expensive as it is, starting low and working up is just more logical. Find out where you can first taste the flavor, then where you like the flavor. As I took the time to tell you that you are using it too high, I do have experience working with Flavorah. I should, it's all I mix with. If you read the pdf I linked here, you can see on average, it does not take much at all.

Those 2 points, of where you can first taste a flavor, and where you like it, matters. It will help you develop a better tasting mix. I already know how it will play out. Been mixing now for over 10 yrs.

Ok. I should have listened first time round when I got the flavours
If anything I am consistent :giggle:

Sides.. I would hate for you to wait yet another month to find out it flopped yet again. :p :D

I like seeing people experiment with their flavors too.. so don't take it as I am not knocking what you like.. just trying to help you understand some processes on making good juices :) It works for any flavor manufacture.

No not taking like your knocking me at all. Im a bit thick in the head at times.
I'll ask something in anything, fishing, cars anything and the person will tell me something. Then I'll think "cool, yes. But what if I do this!" Then I do it and think "I shoulda listened the first time" :giggle:
Recently I wanted to change a globe in my cars trunk area, was told to leave it alone till I get a service and ask them as its notorious for the connection to dissapear back between the panels if you so much as lose the slightest grip taking it off. Guess what I did? Guess where the connection now is?

I picked up a bunch of SSA at BCF...

Milky Caramel Fudge
Mocca Coffee
Butter
Tiramisu
Cappuccino Coffee
Ripe Coconut
Madagasgar Vanilla
Milky Strawberry
Caramel
Thai Pineapple
Caramel Biscuit
Sweet Cream
Cinnamon Apple Pie

I’ll have time/energy next week to do da testing. Smelling? The coffees smell delightful. The strawberry smells more like custard, the pineapple smells fresh, the coconut smells like sweetened candy coconut. The butter actually smells like sweet cream butter. I have high hopes for some of them. One or two have an acetone smell......? Hoping that steeps out.

This is like my third or 4th iteration of a lemon custard donut. This one is by far the most promising.
View attachment 168748

you can knock the super sweet down to about 0.25 (i also used purilium SS in the actual recipe), but it is necessary 1 because donuts are sweet and 2 I think it really helps the lemon to pop nicely.
oooo I have everything to mix this but the NR Glazed Doughnut, would CAP work you think?

Got a couple of the new SSA flavoring today. I have only tried the Vanilla Borneo so far in one of my mixes and it is lovely, It will be replacing the caps French Vanilla in that recipe and probably most others that call for that type of flavor.

Quick update on the SSA flavors. All of them are VERY strong. Like use 1 drop per 10ml strong. For me anyway. The only exception to this was the Ripe Strawberry. I took that to 1% but I am a bit strawberry blind. The Vanilla Ice Cream is the best I have ever tasted from all the different ones I have tried. This stuff I can do as a stand alone. I like the SSA Forest Fruit much better than the FA. The Blueberry I'm on the fence about ( VSO is still king there )

I got a freebie with my BCF order, Milky Caramel Fudge by Super Aromas, smells and sounds wonderful, anybody got a idea what % to use, just going to do a one shot with it.
I have that one....haven’t mixed it yet. Chef’s says 1.8-3.9%. I would start at 1% and work your way up. That’s my plan, anyway.

Thanks for the info @wildgypsy70 , I was thinking of starting low, as they called 'super aromas', I actually hope I don't like, or I will have to do another order, but it is my sort of flavor though.

The only exception to this was the Ripe Strawberry. I took that to 1% but I am a bit strawberry blind.
Me too until I mixed these.
FA Juicy Strawberry 3%
FA Jack (strawberry) 3%
FA Marshmallow 3%
Sweeten to taste.
Its one of my favourite vapes and never fades.
Tried so many that tasted like cheap strawberry cream chuppa chups I almost gave up on strawberry.
This is one thats been sitting with no nic in it. I add the nic about a week before using. Thats just my preference though.

Hey! So a few single flavor tests(@Nailz one for you!)

I started these all at 1% but realized that they needed a bump. I’ll still start them all at 1%(the Milky Strawberry might be a strong one)when I continue testing others, but as single flavors, these 3 needed more.

SSA Milky Caramel Fudge 2%. I’m thinking SSA might do caramels well! This one is sweet and buttery and thick. Like a caramel sauce. I definitely get that fudge vibe from it. I’m looking forward to the steep on this one.....hopefully, the caramel will become even thicker.

SSA Cappuccino Coffee 2%. Hot damn! This is goooooood! No burnt tires! A nice sweetened strong coffee with maybe half and half? I’m guessing this might be a combo of their Mocca Coffee and Sweet Cream. I could definitely vape this solo.

SSA Caramel Biscuit 2%. Again, a really good caramel....same as the fudge. Not quite as thick, but still tasty. Not tasting the biscuit yet, but I’m thinking a steep will bring it out. Or maybe up/drop the percentage....we shall see.

That‘s it, for now! Hopefully, I can get to a few more later today or tomorrow. I’m really liking what I’ve tried, so far.

Deb, if you’re strawberry blind, have you tried WF Strawberry Gummy Candy? I’ve heard a bunch of strawberry blind people can taste that one.
I haven't tried it but I will add it to the "must get" list for next month. Thanks so much!

Also, seems like the Vanilla Ice cream does tone down a bit after 24 hours so maybe do start it at 1% and then see after a day where it's at. I am gonna try that with a 10ml tester. Will let you know. It's still amazing though, just not as strong after a day.

A few more SSA’s for your consideration!

SSA Tiramisu 2%. Definitely tasting that nice coffee note. A little creamy. Very light bakery(that I hope will come out more in a steep). Light caramel, as well(that shouldn’t be there). No cocoa. Not a bad flavor at all, but not tiramisu.....yet?

SSA Thai Pineapple 2%. Fresh, sweet pineapple. There’s even that “texture” like when you eat fresh pineapple. Love it. Probably could use another pineapple to round it out.

SSA Caramel 2%. Thinner than the other caramel types I’ve tried. Also not as rich, buttery. Could be rounded out by butterscotch, but was hoping for the caramel I’ve tasted from this line.

SSA Milky Strawberry 2%. To me, this one is ok. Not my favorite strawberry milk type. Has a twang to it. Def could be useful in cheesecakes. Kinda like strawberry buttermilk? The strawberry isn’t terribly prominent. And it’s more like fresh strawberry rather than candied.

I haven't ordered flavors in a spell. I see Bullcity has expanded their inventory by quite a bit. I'm going to order some stuff to try out tonight.

Aaaaand some more SSAs!

SSA Cinnamon Apple Pie 2%. Well, this is definitely Apple pie! No crust yet. Light on the cinnamon. Apples are cooked and soft. More like cooked apple filling, at this point. Maybe the crust will pop in with a steep. Has a chemically smell out of the bottle(acetone) but nothing when you vape it.

SSA Mocca Coffee 2%. I may have mixed this one too high. Light coffee note behind molasses. A very light touch of burnt coffee around the edges. I probably will mix this one at 1% to see what happens. Dark as night.....like molasses. When I mixed it, it was really cool looking....the flavor was totally separated from the VG and it was like a weird lava lamp.

SSA Madagasgar Vanilla 2%. Darker, creamy vanilla. Not spicy. Needs a high note. Reminds me of vanilla frosting, but not fluffy. Like really thick buttercream frosting. I’m thinking this will be a very useful flavor for bakeries, milkshakes, etc.....

Speaking of the SSA I had mentioned I like the Forest fruit better than the FA. I haven't had the FA FF in quite some time as the first bottle I bought years ago was awesome, but the 2 I tried after that were horrid ( bad batch? ) but now that the SSA one has sat a few days. I'm getting a chemically taste from it, so nope, not for me. I think for me it's simply better to just do a mix with several stand alone fruits with ones I know I like.
