I'm not a whole lot familiar with Asmodus, but aren't they basically just another Chinese copmany with a US presence? If so, are they just closing their USA business and continuing from CHina or are they just shutting their whole business down?

Yep a Chinese company with US presence. It seems like all the China vape companies are shutting down their US operations. Whether they will continue to sell to US customers is a different matter, but I suspect any purchases will have to be done thru 3rd party vendors. FT, etc.

How many China located 3rd party vendors who will continue to sell to US customers remains an unknown.

But so far so good, though, but too early to tell. Regardless, I'm seriously thinking about getting another liter of nic. I shouldn't need it, but insurance is good sometimes when it comes in the form of NICOTINE!!!!!!! lol

When Ijoy closed their USA store due to the Nevada tax, they didn't have a sale. They either took all their stock back to China or they sold it off to other resellers.

All the government has to do just like every other government and so no vape gear across the borders or like paypal stop paying for vape gear.. Australia is going through some really nasty regulation push right now I've seen. look at what they are doing to our life saving ,life changing industry. I've been vaping since 2010 I've got enough gear to last and enough nic base to choke a horse.. but only if it holds up?? And I don't know exactly but .. how many companies are they forcing to close.. they will do everything they can to sqash this industry and dont care how many they put out of work. But they will get my mod and my juice out of my cold dead fingers..it saved my life I was smoking 4 pks a day.. and I'm utterly disgusting by this whole situation.. and I'm sorry for all the people who will never get to experience a life changing choice compared to the stickies. All I can say is shame on them all. And I hope karma bites them square on the ASS

Technically CC companies can stop Vape purchase covering at any time since they all have rules about not covering illegal purchases. I suspect that will happen in around 90 days when the FDA has the PMTA applications sorted out as to accepted/rejected and publish a list of the vape stuff with accepted PMTA applications which could still be legally sold.

The Deeming regs do specifically prohibit the importation on non PMTA approved vape stuff.
Enforcing it at customs would be a pain but sending a letter to CC companies would be fast, easy and very effective from the FDA's point of view.
And since many PP accounts are linked to debit/credit cards....

Vape retailers already have to have the high risk CC processing....

And just in case you're not confused enough,
SourceMore has a "PMTA" section on their site.

I didn't think Freeman had completely threw in the towel at this point.

Although Uncle Junk's kinda threw in the towel a while back, has anyone heard anything official from them?

I didn't think Freeman had completely threw in the towel at this point.

Freeman looks open for business to me. Complete with Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and all.

Some places had a knee jerk reaction but decided against their reactions about a month later.

NicVape initially decided to stay in business an donly ship outside the USA (which makes them legal) but just a few days ago I noticed they decided to sell/ship to USA customers again.

I think a lot of companies had a knee jerk reaction (I am sure some of us got to see some of it in person, if you visit local vape stores) - but some like Black Note stayed strong from the beginning. That is what I like to see!

Can the UK officially do all of our research now?

It is with great sadness that we are being forced to shutter our online business.

Under "the cover of darkness" (Christmas time/end of year government budget omnibus bill) the United States Congress amended the 2009 PACT and JENKINS ACT's to include Electronic Cigarettes.

They did this deep inside the 5000+ page "COVID RELIEF BILL" that was passed.

It's often common practice for our government to legislate in this way - in one huge, all-or-nothing "budget bill" at the end of the year that contains thousands of extras and "riders". These greatly impact various industries, including ours.

This most recent amendment makes it a felony to ship any vape items to consumers.

USPS, Fed-Ex and UPS have announced that they are cancelling our internet shipping accounts at the end of March/April.

At the moment, there is NO viable solution to continue "Business to Consumer" mail/phone/internet orders.
A few of the onerous requirements to stay in business include:
  • Having a registered agent within each destination state
  • Monthly reporting to each State Attorney General
  • Monthly Reporting to the ATF
  • Monthly Reporting to Local County Sheriff's Department, if Required for County-Specific rules (Flavor bans, county-specific taxes, etc.)
  • Associated state/local Taxes collected & Remitted
  • Cannot use the United States Postal Service
  • Fed-Ex/UPS have both opted out
  • Adult Signature required upon delivery IF private courier can be found.

At this time, we feel like we will only be able to operate the website for about another month or so, given that the USPS is still "publishing the final rule", and there is no private courier willing to handle national distribution of individual consumer packages.

As it stands, the murmured effective date of the law is April 6, 2021.

We started this business to do one thing – to help folks quit smoking. Since opening, we have helped over 30,000 people get off & stay off of cigarettes with this miraculous harm-reduction technology.

Unfortunately, our government benefits more when people are smoking.

Tobacco is the most taxed product category in the world, and electronic cigarettes have posed a tremendous threat to those tax revenues on which state, local and federal government have become dependent.

As many of you are aware, we have taken a stand on many occasions - fighting for vapor rights both locally & nationally.

The reality is simple, however. We simply do not have the capacity to comply with these latest mandated regulatory actions.

Thank you all so much for your patronage over the years. It has been our absolute pleasure and privilege to serve you.

As a measure of gratitude, we have deeply discounted pricing throughout March to help our customers stock up.

Our final shipping date will be March 25th.

Sincerely,

Steve Nair

Quit That Grit in Pa. and Caterpillar Vape are closing their online sites soon, as well as Smoktek

Damn, I'd shopped at Smoktek a lot years ago when they were one of THE places for cartos, cheap atties/mods, and such. They are one of the OG vape sites. :(

Here's their banner about it...no mention of anything except that they won't be able to ship? Hmmm.

Snap1354.jpg

I'll have to check out their deals.
I'll also probably have to open my ancient copy of Opera just to find my old password...it's been that long...assuming I still have an account there.

Since 2011...this is how old that site is. Need a spring for your Vamo? They got one. ;)

I own nearly everything on this page alone, excepting the Vamo and UDT.

And Silica Wicks...ahh...memories...

Lawd, if that isn't something I don't miss fooling with.

Silica wicks and protank heads. I used to go down to the coffee shop and sit at a table on the patio and rebuild my protank heads. 5 wraps of 30g kanthal on a drill bit with 2 pieces of unwound silica. Repeat 15-20 times and good to go for a week or 2. Lol

RTDvapor has been "down for maintenence" for weeks now. I think they are out of business.

Also
JoyetchUS http://joyetechus.com/
EleafUS https://eleafus.com/
WismecUS https://wismec.us/

Never really closed down, they have been back in business for months now. Even ordered from Eleafe US myself. They must've had a knee jerk reaction to PMTA.
Can't confirm RTD

Joyetch is still gone
EleafUS and WismecUS will be gone again with Pact Act.

30ml E-Liquid

OUR SITE IS CLOSING DOWN!

Congress passed a law in December prohibiting the sale of vapor products online by banning all major methods of shipping. No major carriers in the US will ship these products to your door.

USPS Ban will go into effect mid-March. We recommend you order now to ensure you get what you need, before shipping is cut off completely.

Found RTDVapor's email address from archive page. Emailed them. Let's see if they respond.

Will report back if they respond.

Maintenance for weeks (literally) is not something an ecommmerce store does. That's enough lost revenue to go bankrupt.

Om Vapors Last Dance

It's been one hell of a ride, but the saga of Om Vapors is coming to a close.

Due to the PACT act's overburdensome regulatory hoops, we will no longer be in business after March 27th.

The PACT Act, also known as the prevent all cigarette trafficking act, was passed within the 5,500+ page stimulus package approved by Congress in late December.

For those who may not know, the PACT Act's language prohibits USPS from shipping vape products and requires companies that ship "tobacco" products to register with every state, local, and tribal municipality tobacco tax authority along with the ATF.

Failure to comply, even if it is just a simple mistake, can result in up to 3 years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.

Until we close all Om Vapors and Umba Vape, 100ml bottles will be $5.99.

Hardware will also be steeply discounted, so stock up on coils and other supplies while you have the time.

On behalf of the Om Vapors team, I would like to thank you for giving us a chance to help you all transition from vaping to smoking. We couldn't have made it this far without your support, so from the bottom of our hearts, it's really meant everything to us. It's indescribably painful having to do this to everyone and abandon our mission of making vape products affordable. We didn't get into this to get rich, and we all live very modestly because we felt like these products were important to public health and that they had to be affordable to make any impact.

Ben and I have dedicated over half of our 20's to building this business and improving lives everywhere. It's heartbreaking that it has to end due to government corruption and excessive nanny-state regulations.

Due to this, we are going to have to make some hard decisions that are going to impact our families' futures. We aren't certain how we'll be able to pay ourselves or any of our employees; between everyone working here, we have children to feed, rents to pay, and bills to keep up with.

Check the links below to shop for hardware, e-juice, and make a public comment to USPS regarding their regulations via Casaa's call to action.

As always, "Breathe Easy" Om Fam.

Les

The URL should be thedriptipshop.com and it just goes to a Shopify link now.

I've always just used Google to search for Siam drip tips and found the link that way. Ive ordered from this place in the past, but the shop I ordered from is nowhere to be found.

Here's an example pic I was able to find.

The link is working for me... takes me to a shop with product. Could not find any notice that they are closing. Their FB was no help either, it hasn't had a post since September of 19.

Reading all this may be depressing, but it is also educational. It gets almost funny when I stock up, and the vendors send me emails asking me to submit "B2B" (Business to business) forms so I can keep doing orders after the ban.

So not enjoying watching this last minute freak out people are having. Trying to stay off reddit as so many are just finding out and clueless. And we've been yelling about this for how long? (Maybe that was unkind of me, but this is all pretty hard to watch)
