Who Just Ordered From FT in the last few days?

"The waiting is the hardest part..." (read with Tom Petty twang) :)

DAMN! I'm going to be on pins and needles waiting for this stuff to make it by Apr 26, god willing and the creek don't rise! Two of the orders that left on the 16th have been "in transit" to the US for over a week now. Apparently they are coming via flying turtle.

Then there were more orders placed after that... and a few have ETA's that still lie ahead - the last order placed two days ago has an ETA of 4/1. Now that's REALLY cutting it, but assume as long as it gets through customs by the 27th I should be ok.

Is anyone else in the same (slow) boat ?

I got a few china orders on there way, not concerned, they don't normally label what is really in the package, and customs aren't going to be opening every package from China, I wouldn't risk doing a order for 100's of dollars, but just made one this last weekend for $50 and that sure won't be here by the 27th.

Mine do add up to a couple hundred and then some.... two mods, two huge tanks, (and misc drip tips, adapters, tweezers, new wire snips)...

But the only important date is when it gets to customs, which happens within 1-3 days of entering the US, so the order you placed this weekend should indeed make it to customs before then. Once it passes there, it will travel unhindered to your door.

I really wonder how it can take so long to go from the China airport to the US mainland. Maybe their cargo planes fly to every other country en route, stopping at each one... side trip to Hubble... quick overnight at the International Space Station... flyover Burning Man to take a gander...

I hear you, but I placed the orders before Mar 23, and believe that's why there's a 'grace period' until it starts getting enforced. But I won't be placing anymore until we see how things go.

If the US vendors that are creating a shipping network pull that off, and other shippers step in over the next few months, China might develop a relationship with one/some of these shippers, too, to carry the products the last leg through the US , if it's found product is getting hung up at customs. It might not be free anymore at that point (to ship from China) but we'll see how it plays out.

For anyone who HAS ordered from China over the last week or so, would be nice to hear when your shipments arrive, and that they made it. I'll post when mine come in. (Thinking positively.)

Really? WOW... what happened? Did it get returned to the vendor for a refund to you minus shipping?

EDIT: Seems if it had been sent to be handled by the USPO instead, once it hit the mainland, it would have gotten through. As it was biz as usual for the PO 2 weeks ago and still should be for the next few weeks. My shipments that are coming are always delivered by the PO. I don't opt for special handling.

Also, if yours was shipped directly from a mod manufacturer, it was probably clear from the packaging what was in it due to the shipper's name. What a bummer though.

I am a tester for them, so no.. I had zero cost to reimburse, but now they can not send units out for testing to anyone in the states. There goes our reviewers as well. This is why I am interested in your thread and hope if anyone else has orders out.. that they all will come in as quick as possible. Keep your eyes on tracking!

I just had one mod go bust on me, died within 24 hours.. However, I have enough mods etc.. to keep me vaping for quite a long time. Good luck to everyone!! We are going to need it.

I dont think any Chinese company gives two rips what US mail law becomes. They will likely continue to fulfill any order received, especially places like FT and 3f who, as another mentioned already, do not label their stuff as vape gear anyways. I did notice ,though, they will not send anything with a blade. I tried ordering a leatherman knock off once and found that out.

I am a little concerned about the Abyss I ordered less than a week ago direct from Dovpo, since they are a vape only company...

You are of course right that China will fill any order they get. But they do kind of have to give a rip - not because they are subject to it - but because their customers are... and they want to protect that revenue stream of US sales.

Good luck with the order from Dovpo - like you say, that's more worrying since it's a vape-only company. Let us know if/when it makes it... might tell us something about whether or not customs is working off the Apr 26 deadline or not.

I will be sure to update on the Dovpo order.

I see what you are saying, that if US customers get their orders intercepted and thus unfulfilled, that would curtail US orders, and it will, no doubt.

But the Chinese companies really do not care one way or the other. Yes, they certainly are aware of this impending law and expect a drop in revenue from it. But they know a certain number of US customers will be willing to take the gamble and place orders - and they will gladly fulfill those orders. What, is a US customer going to complain like they didn't know? I would also predict these companies will take additional steps to increase the odds the shipment arrives to the person ordering it. When have you ever seen a Chinese company respect US, or any other nation's, laws or trade practices? They already disregard all kinds of laws. They are shipping so much fentanyl here (via the cartels) that 70,000 Americans are dying annually. We even know who the #1 exporter in China is, his name and address, everything, and he continues to operate with impunity. You think some stupid ban on mailing vape products will suddenly cause them to follow the rules?

I am betting it will not.

Rephrased :D Chinese resellers... China companies, those that make mods, do care not to waste time and money plus their rep on something not going anywhere. They do have the rest of the world that can receive shipments.. and that is where their focus will be. One manufacture already told me this.

Until the customs refused to pass thru from one B2B purchase, we will have to wait this out.

Places like ft, 3a, 3f, etc... do not give a damn.. they are loss-leader resellers, but for the makers..

Understand marketing and the roles companies play.. knowing even manufacturers have stock in resellers.

It is supposed to be from B2B.. not B2C.. I will be watching too. Some tho, won't understand till the atf shows up with cuffs and fines. I wonder who will be first, as I am super lucky, now I really can start saving and stop spending funds on shiny items.

We agree China will keep shipping - and will likely take steps to minimize interruption. But I know one vendor states in their FAQ that if an order is held in customs and not returned to them, the buyer is out that money. If customs returns the pkg to them, they will reimburse the customer minus shipping. Neither one is a big deal if fairly rare, but either becomes problematic (to both vendor and buyers) if it becomes commonplace. Vendors won't want to waste time sending products only to have to reimburse buyers, then lose that customer for good, as no one will buy again once a pkg doesn't make it to them. And it will be worse if items aren't returned and buyers are out that money.

As far as US buyers saying "I didn't know" - yes, that's actually the case for most vapers. It's the enthusiasts who hang in forums and such that are aware. But most vapers just go about their lives and aren't "plugged in."

Anyway - we all have to wait and see. Meanwhile I am tapping my foot for my orders to arrive before Apr 27, but two haven't even left FT yet... supposedly will tomorrow.

Right. Mod manufacturers aren't going to hassle it. But retailers like FT and the like are motivated to find solutions, as the US is probably their largest market for vaping products. I still think it's likely they'll partner with alternate US carriers, once those carriers are in place. But it will cost more and a signature will be required on delivery and all that, if they go that route.

I hadn't ordered from FT (prior to my order 2 months ago, and then recently) for a couple years. But I noticed they changed their policy for free shipping. It's only free now if the order is over $20 (still dirt cheap). I remember in the past needing some little item and was shocked they'd ship it free.

I haven't ordered anything from ft in I know 2 yrs.. maybe a touch longer.

The equipment I have, all of it will last my lifetime.. or the time I want to keep vaping.
I do have a setup on reserve, so I call it.. it's my "keeper mod" Just a simple mech with my fav dripper on it.. I plan on keeping as it will last forever.. the rest I plan on either giving away or when they finally die.. will see .. if they can be salvaged.. will pass them on to others.. :)

I would like, I think.. and I have been thinking on it for a while now. I go thru maybe 3mls a day as it is.. but the setups I use are mtl.. and I noticed a few months ago.. even tho I create all kinds of recipes and I enjoy taste testing and tinkering.. out of 12 yrs, I still have zero "All Day Vape" but I enjoy switching around with the mixes I have made.. I still have mixes left up in my head to create.. but one day.. I'd like to settle down on 2-3 I could vape on.. and just toke as I want..

There is a difference between needing that nic high or nic leveling... and just vaping for the taste. :D

When I got my latest mods (Thelema and Aegis X) I was messing with my juice (100%VG) and as a test poured a few drops of pure VG on the coils to vape that straight. I noticed it didn't taste any diff from my normal juice - which showed me how little flavoring ande nic I add. :)

I do have a few diff flavors made up that I dip into every once in awhile for an hour or two of a change - some diketone flavored juices I only vape as a treat ... will drip a few drops down through the drip tip on to the coils (not on a dripper) ... Used to have diketone flavors as my ADV - Caramel Candy. But due to the controversy I stopped that some years ago. And regular Caramel (no diketones) is my ADV. Nothing beats those diketones though. Too bad they're the 'bad ones'. :)

Also made a wicked good extraction of Capt. Black pipe tobacco some years back. Tasted absolutely DIVINE. But I'm sure it was full of chems and it gunked the coils in about 2hrs. :) But worth it every once in awhile.

3mls of juice a day? I use an Aromamizer Supreme V3 with the dual coil deck and go through about 30+ml a day. Can't look at that tank without the juice dropping. But love my clouds! And with the Ragnar coming (giant Aromamizer) the juice will almost certainly go faster. I would have gone broke years ago if not for doing DIY since I started (2014).

I still love my clouds.. I just don't do them often..
I love them better in the mornings or late at night..

I really do enjoy my flavors.. I have just been so busy lately.. yeps 2-3 mls a day...
Been mixing since 2011, my first recipe released was on ecf, Kentucky Peachgrass I want to say 2012.. peach tobacco juice. I started vaping with Smoking Everywhere, cigalike back in 2004.

Since then I have over 900 recipes up on elr, a few on vc and of course some scattered here.. I still run my website, and I have a page and group on fb.. :)

Good thing we are all different! Makes the joys of vaping even more fun! :D

I enjoy flavors too, but all the flavors I really enjoy have diketones, so switched from flavor to clouds. :)

I did see your PDFs somewhere with all your recipes. An enormous amount of work put into those. The years of experience clear.

And also waiting to see if alternate carriers are viable or not. Meaning money-wise and hassle-wise. If it's "$25 extra" to ship something - pfffth... I guess if it gets down to it, people will wait until they have a boatload of stuff to order so the shipping looks small by comparison. But it's going to eliminate all those 'impulse buys' of a tank here or an inexpensive extra mod there.

Then there's the other elephant in the room... the looming nic tax that will almost surely get re-introduced to the House/Senate this year and will very likely pass. One that died on Dec 30, 2020 (HR 4727 IIRC) would have added $1390 in TAX to a 500ml bottle of 100ml nic base!! Juices and ecigs and anything with nic will be charged by the mg. So while ecigs and juice might double in price (depending on nic content) buying concentrated nic in bulk will be cost-prohibitive... even if the shipping ban works itself out.

Guess it will be time to organize a co-op/price share among the vaping community to buy tobacco fields and a nic processing plant! "Who lives in VA with land to spare?" 🕵️‍♂️ <-- Walter White. :giggle:

what else I do not dare to ask could they dream up for us??

You didn't ask but you thought about it and made that known so, ...

alien abductions complete with harsh anal probes,
introduction the cacti named Dave,
water boarding until you like it,
held hostage and forced to watch Oprah in continual rerun loop,
messages from some guy named Bruno,
randomly flashing and flickering lights,
the end of Silly Putty & Sporks,
a million hamsters in plastic balls unleashed in your (general) bedroom,
revival of the dancing virus which causes people to dance to death,
moar fear porn,
radio signals beamed into our brains from GamaXI in the Beta galaxy,
there is likely very much more and these are all my sick noodle can figure running on empty at the moment,

Got some batteries from IMR today at the post office. They had a young lady working the counter. Told her "bet I know what that is", as she brought the box out. Asked if she needed my ID or me to sign. She grinned and winked, "Nah, you're a good old dog. I trust you. You know we're stopping this stuff huh?"

Told her that's why I was getting stuff in as soon as I could. She nodded, "run 'er slow."

Big time. I'm guessing that I'm not in an area covered anyways. I'll have to start collecting something else now. I wonder if there's going to be any good flashlights coming out soon.

I talked to my postman and he didn't get the memo. He said, "How are they going to know what's in the package?" I just sort of explained what I knew. He said there's all kinds of stuff in the mail that shouldn't be. He said a guy opened his box in front of him and it was some kind of fertilizer. I guess that's not supposed to be mailed either.

Well boxes from IMR are clearly marked & labeled. "Lithium Ion Batteries" & "Not To Fly Passenger Flights" are two of the labels. But yes, like your postman I too would be curious how they know.

Sure they can possibly x-ray mail if they deem it suspicious. I worked in the postal room of a Navy base for a bit. Suspicious is a high standard with most going through just with a passing glance. The general notion is "don't stop the line, keep the mail moving."

Even if x-ray-ed they don't really know specifically what is inside. "Ah, electronics components. Does not appear a bomb, okay on through it goes." / "Hm, something metal but nothing fitting any dangerous object shapes, right on through." / "Liquid in a container, on through."

I don't want to say something which seems to imply exactly what it implies. Still the gist is "they don't care". They do indeed care but not to the extent they'll stop and open every single package, snoop through mailed undies, dildos, vibrators, sex gels, recipe books, photo albums, ... etc. They just are not bothered being that meticulous, anal.

If they were you can be sure items marked as fragile would likely not arrive in pieces, broken. There's good and bad points to an imperfect, perfect system such as USPS.

Got chuckle out of this and your story. Funnier still given one of my "handles" is Dead Dog. This old dog he ain't gonna fit in no mail box, well, unless he needs a ditty bag to get put in.

I have had a FT order in for 3 Centaurus mods since Feb. Lost Vape is having trouble filling orders. I may have to give up on this one. At least FT has offered me my money back. Shoot...
I had a Centaurus on order with them a couple weeks ago, but canceled it and changed it to a Thelema the day after I placed it. That mod is en route. Now I'm happy I did that. I almost didn't b/c I already had a Thelema coming from FlawlessVapeShop (which arrived already), but I like the battery door on the Thelema so was sheer luck I decided to change the FT order. Good luck to you, Grandpa.

I considered getting more batts then remembered the last ten I'd put in the garage to recycle, were only a yr old... but had decided to retire them due to the batt wraps fraying at the ends. Conclusion? New batt wraps from eBay and put them back in action! :giggle: Brought them in and stuck one on my charger figuring it must be dead after a year ... was at 4.1v and the charger wasn't even trying to top it off. :) Yup. Still good!

well i have two orders out with Ft ATM payed for the hard case repacking for one and didnt for the other both are accepted in usps before the cuttoff date one cleared customs after cutoff date the other is pending. the biggest things i can suggest keep orders small less to lose and infrequent less likely to trigger some kind of list. FT sells alot of things so unless you make a list your orders will go thur. i avoid juice thou. those i will diy or get local while i can if my stock runs out

outside factors are how it was declared one was filters tthe other metal tube so if there not opened they will be mailed.

What dates did they ship, if you remember?

I received two small orders from FT a few days ago. Just a couple decks in one, and a small tank in another, shipped 3/15 and 3/16 from FT. So they got here pretty fast.

But the two mods I ordered shipped a few days prior and am still waiting for those to show up on the mainland radar.

Also have 2 or 3 other orders that just shipped a few days ago.

And ONE more order that had a later ETA and is supposed to ship tomorrow, and I paid for express usps on that, but don't really know if it makes a diff since my orders from FT show up in LA County when they finally arrive, and I live in LA county. So don't how much can it be expedited when the sorting/customs centers are just up the freeway, but really want them through customs before Apr 27!

Well the ETA on my FT order was changed from 4/1 to 4/7. But knowing FT it could change again tomorrow to something sooner. Will wait it out.
