We may have rain here today. Too early to know, but yesterday was beautiful, and every time Easter weekend brings perfect weather, I get this mysterious feeling that the easter bunny is out there, creating happiness.
No matter what religious significance people place on the celebration around springtime, bunnies and eggs, it goes back a long way in our shared human history and consciousness, to a time when our winter food stores were almost depleted, when the ice broke and the river began to move again, when budding branches began to display nests full of eggs, and the hillsides were hopping with bunny rabbits. I feel that same sense of hope the ancients must have felt when the air warmed, the sun shone and the days became longer. Forgiveness is easy as the abundance around us pushes out the wrongs and hurts of the past. One of my favorite Rumi sayings is this: "Out beyond all notions of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to speak of".
To all of my music loving friends here, I wish the joy of renewal, the sweetness of the season, and lots of marshmallow kisses and chocolate bunnies.
