Well….appears we were given another used year. This is NOT a new year based on the smell. But, it has got to be better than 2022.
I know y’all know about my truck fiasco and the wife’s car and the air conditioner….and the furnace. Not sure I mentioned my brother and his crap or my daughter and her crap but those 2 on top of all the other crap nearly put me over the edge last year.
Fuck 2022…good riddance.
2023….your on notice.
I sincerely hope that all my family that hang here have the very best year of their life, filled with love and happiness.
And thanks for the HAWKEYE love yesterday. It was truly a “blind squirrel finds a nut” moment.

It's been raining a lot more this season than last. I haven't heard of any flooding near me, but who knows since I don't watch TV that much and forget what a newspaper looks like...

Maiden voyage outta the crib in 2023 planned today. Im off this week and going to make breakfast for my coworkers. Donuts are to easy and overdone and already had requests for my world famous muffcuits, a cross of a muffin and biscuit, stuffed with sausage/egg/cheese and a dollop or 2 of chorizo.
If I find that 2023 sucks I’m coming home and going hermit for the remainder of the year.

Because I work with and I’m friends with “brown” Dave who is of Mexican decent. He’s brown Dave because at 1 point we had 2 Dave’s and to keep them apart when talking about them we had to come up with a system. Dave G. Suggested calling him brown Dave and the other one was referred to as “shut the fuck up” Dave. Shut the fuck up dave no longer works there but brown Dave is still brown Dave. Dave and I share food porn constantly And Monday mornings are a recap of the weekend cooking….ingredients, methods, tricks etc….
Dave likes to learn me authentic Mexican cookery that he and his mama and very large family practice constantly. Dave teaches me dishes that I immediately bastardize which drives him nuts. He turned me on to tomatillo soup. I do head shaking things to it causing Dave to say that he can’t tell his mama what I’ve done to it. Dave’s mama was in one day and asked him which one of us is the white boy that can’t follow a simple recipe…lol…she was joking….kinda.

Alas…no red beans and rice…again
did make a loaf of no knead bread. Easy Peasy. 4 ingredients, 2.5 hours start to finish. Not really for me. Not a huge bread fan. But, Dirty Barry likes it and a fresh loaf gets me the pole closest to the filthy bathroom.
