I Need A Star In My Life- Humble Pie

This piece is jazz, and I get the sense that the main players in this game thread aren't big fans of jazz, but this piece is beautiful to me, because upon learning of it, and reading an interview with TK Blue (a stage name which means "Talib Kibwe composing in a blue mode", I learned of the importance of the north star to escaping slaves prior to the civil war, who followed the underground railroad route to freedom by using the guidance of the north star.

This page explains:

...most slaves did not have maps or compasses to guide them. Without the use of these tools, a fugitive’s ability to successfully navigate to a safe house, railroad station, or the woods was often a matter of life or death. The North Star played a key role in helping slaves to find their way—a beacon to true north and freedom. Escaping slaves could find it by locating the Big Dipper, a well-recognized asterism most visible in the night sky in late winter and spring. As the name implies, its shape resembles a dipping ladle, or drinking gourd. From the gourd’s outline, the North Star could be found by extending a straight line five times the distance from the outermost star of the bowl.

Follow the North Star

I like jazz, I just have never collected it in digital. When searching for a song I generally just search what I have on my phone, rather than searching through my vinyl collection. When my work project was in New Orleans we would go clubbing at least one night a week on Frenchman Street. Keep playing it Bliss, I enjoy it.

Song of the North - BrunuhVille

I'm leapfrogging over Jimi because I don't see a word match there, not that I've never totally done a mismatch myself, like, um, ALL THE TIME.

There are songs that need a contemporary remake. The old Lucy Show reruns get on my nerves, but Desi Arnaz' music is just wonderful. He played an entertainer in an upscale nightclub. This song is such a beauty.

Waters of the Minnetonka (feat. Carol Richards)

Good to know. I'll do more of it. I like all genres of music, but jazz was my least favorite until I was compelled to do some jazz programming in college radio. The more you learn, the more you love: the edgy sax solo, the early stuff from the likes of Louis Jourdan and Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet; the civil rights music, Latin jazz and Latin dance, and to my delight, that radio station considered tango music to be latin jazz. Then there's the Django Reinhardt school of gypsy guitar jazz, which hundreds if not thousands of guitarists all over the world have tried to mimic. Could I go on and on? Forever.

I guess I need an icon to post when I'm doing jazz for Goph, as a heads up.

How about the moon cat icon?
:mooncat:
Until I figure out something else anyway.

Yolanda Brown is a UK saxophonist. I love her sound, and I believe the compositions on her 2017 release "Love Politics War" are all her own originals.

This piece is "Million Billion Love"

It's natural there would be a little reggae in there. There have been many Jamaican immigrants to the UK, including Brown's family of origin, though she is native Brit.

With Valentines day coming up, the day when chocolate companies make their money for the year, I'm using the full length release title for the word match.

Song "Chocolate" from Brotha Trav the Godbrotha on his CD Black Love Revolution.

This is really, really naughty.

Chocolate

Emma has taken a turn for the worse
She's had three straight days with diarrhea. Only been feeding her can cooker chicken and beef with scrambled eggs. Don't know what else to do. This is exactly how Duke was towards the end.
It's been a real mess in the home cause she doesn't make it outside. It's been miserable around here.
On a good note....Tangee no longer has blood in his diarrhea and is starting to have good stools :bliss: . Been giving him prebiotics/probotics and collagen. Finally found a canned food that he likes and has this certain (bad) ingredient out of the canned food, that may have been causing inflammation.

As I read your post of what you're dealing with, unbidden the thought came to me "bentonite clay". I've heard of people taking it to absorb "stuff". I looked it up and found this article about birds and animals eating it in the wild, raw from dirt and rock:

Also https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/bentonite-clay-for-dogs/

It was just a thought. Came to me out of nowhere.

It's a long way to the top (if you want to rock and roll)

:mooncat:
I put on the moon cat because this artist is considered jazz, as was the composer of the piece, drummer Paul Motian (1931-2011), but to me this is just a beautiful mysterious listen that takes your mind away from the mundane.
