Bill introduced to stop government funding of research and development of GMO "edible mRNA vaccine" plants.

Editing to say, it's an amendment to the appropriations bill, but a vote was taken to accept it into the bill, so that's a success, but the bill hasn't yet been signed by the "resident".

Still kudos to Massie for caring.

Uric Acid: A Key Player in Cardio, Brain and Metabolic Diseases

Uric acid is a natural waste product in your blood that helps to break down purines. Once uric acid dissolves in your blood, it moved through your kidneys that leaves your body through urine.

However, if your body cannot remove all excess uric acid, it can lead to a build-up causing high uric acid levels called hyperuricemia. High uric acid levels may lead to kidney stones, gout, and other health issues.

The good news is that it’s possible to reduce your uric acid levels with the help of some natural support strategies.

It’s been over seven years since my son was diagnosed with stage four cancer Jimi, and as much as I tell myself I never need to (and shouldn’t) think that thought again…

I’d be lying if I said I never did.

But, when I DO have those thoughts, what makes me feel a whole lot better is a mental check to make sure I’m DOING everything I know to ensure that it doesn’t.

With that said, to make sure you knew about the Empowered Against Recurrence classes my friend Dr. Carol Lourie has going on this month!!

Dr. Lourie is awesome, she gave an amazing presentation on Anti-Cancer Revolution 2, along with being one of our Going Integrative Plus members’ favorite Q&A guests…

And besides being an ND, Dr. Lourie is ALSO an incredible homeopathic doctor AND specializes in cancer!! Certainly a rare combination.

Aside from everything to heal from cancer on the natural side, she’s got a whole ton of insight on how to help the body heal from damage on the conventional/integrative side.

Every time I interview her, she just cranks out non-stop super practical, actionable, easy to work into your regimen advice!!

Anyway, she’s giving her three classes coming up next month, and I know you’ll love them!

You can register at no charge here and expect to learn:

  • 6 simple ways to reduce your risk of recurrence
  • How to recover your energy and vitality after you’ve "rung the bell"
  • Why breast cancer recovery doesn’t stop after treatment
  • How to adjust to the physical and emotional challenges of healing
  • Which supplements actually work and which are snake oil (and the importance of reading labels!)
  • How to create an inhospitable environment for cancer
  • And much, much more!
Hope you get a chance to attend one of her sessions! She usually gets straight to the point and packs in a ton of useful info, know you’ll love her. :)

That's why everyone should grow your own food as much as possible
And the use of heirloom seeds will insure clean.

We should, yes, but realistically very few people can grow enough food to supply their needs, so we have to keep caring about what is and isn't allowed in the consumer food chain.

Maintain Brain 'GPS' With Healthy Diet

By Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Mike Roizen, MDs

Often cited as the worst blunder in the history of college football, Roy "Wrong Way" Riegels picked up a fumble in the 1929 Rose Bowl and ran toward his opponent's goal line, resulting in a safety.

His team, University of California Golden Bears, lost to Georgia Tech 8-7. How could this happen to the All-American team captain? The explanation didn't come until the 21st century.

Special: Worried About Forgetting Things? Try Dr. Blaylock's Brain Boosters

In 2014, neuroscientist John O'Keefe discovered the brain's "inner GPS" (and won a Nobel Prize), which is supposed to keep you oriented to your surroundings. This directional guidance system is located in the entorhinal/subicular region at the base of your brain in the hippocampus.

Chances are, when Roy banged heads to get the fumble, it confused his inner GPS and turned him around on the gridiron.

We want to point you in the right direction, to overall brain health and to protect your inner GPS.

There's a direct correlation between obesity and shrinking of the hippocampus, so do these things to stay on track:

  • Avoid brain-inflamers. Saturated and trans fats, added sugars and syrups, and any grain that isn't 100 percent whole cause brain inflammation. Give your brain the fuel it needs to think clearly.
  • Enjoy berry goodness. Elderberries, blueberries, and strawberries are packed with the powerful flavonoid quercetin, which reduces inflammation that's associated with dementia.
  • Go nuts. Walnuts are rich in omega-3s, but all nuts seem to protect the brain's vascular system.
  • Feel the beet. Their natural nitrates increase blood flow to the brain.

Depressed Patients at Greater Risk for Heart Disease

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

A large and growing body of research shows that mental health is associated with risk factors for heart disease.

People experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and even PTSD over a long period of time may experience certain effects on the body, such as increased heart rate and blood pressure, reduced blood flow to the heart, and heightened levels of cortisol. Over time, these physiologic effects can lead to calcium buildup in the arteries, metabolic disease, and heart disease.

Special: Defend Yourself Against Two Major Killers With This Simple Program

People with heart conditions who also experience chronic depression are at greater risk of dying, though those with mild or occasional depression didn't face the same threat.

Researchers looked at the association between occasional or persistent mental distress and the risk of death in 950 people with stable coronary heart disease who were between ages 31 and 74.

All participants were part of the LIPID study (Long-Term Intervention With Pravastatin in Ischemic Disease) who had a heart attack or other heart condition up to three years previously.

Each participant answered a stress-test questionnaire at various intervals: at six months, one year, two years, and four years. Overall health, as well as survival rates, were then tracked for an average of 12 years.

During that period, 398 people died from all causes and 199 died from cardiovascular disease.

We all know that a properly functioning immune system is key for optimal health.

Our Immune System The strength of our immune system determines the state of our health. When it's compromised we become susceptible to catching a cold, the flu or worse. Therefore, maintaining a strong immune system is crucial for helping us reduce the risk of coming down with a cold or the flu.
It's not the germ, but the soil the germ is planted in, that determines who gets sick and who doesn't. Those with healthy soil (bodily systems) are able to fight off an infection. While those with unhealthy soil (bodily systems) will allow the germ to take root and lead to disease....

Here is a list of immune zappers that can weaken the thymus gland:

Sugar in any form - table sugar, honey, alcohol, even excess fruit juice (fructose) can suppress the immune system. Just one tablespoon of simple sugar results in a 50% reduction in white blood cell activity for up to five hours! It's best to go easy on simple sugars, including alcohol. During periods when you are under a great deal of stress (unfortunately when most folks crave sweets) try to avoid eating sugary foods; sweets, fruit juices, cookies, cakes, white bread, honey, etc.
Canned Food - Bisphenol A, or BPA, which coats the inside lining of most canned foods has been linked higher cytomegalovirus antibody levels, suggesting that their cell-mediated immune system is compromised.
Microwave Popcorn...

Let's face it: there's A LOT to learn to become an effective herbalist...
And while that can be really exciting, for most of us, it can also be super overwhelming and daunting.
How will we ever be able to learn everything we need to know?
One of my tricks for reducing overwhelm is to break things down into manageable frameworks, with clearly defined stages of development.
(That's how I managed to write a 160,000 word book in about a year...)
Have you ever thought of what stages of development there are for an herbalist?
What about the specific things you need to learn now to progress to the next level of your plant path?
Well that's exactly what I'll be sharing in The Path of the Practicing Herbalist.
In this live webinar, you're going to learn the 5 stages of growth on the plant path and what you need to learn to move from total beginner to practicing herbalist.
Click here to register for The Path of the Practicing Herbalist
In this live webinar, you're going to learn:
  • The roadmap to move from novice to practicing herbalist
  • The 5 things you need to know about every plant you use
  • The 3 biggest challenges herbalists face — and how you can overcome them
  • The 3 layers of people you need to understand (so they'll trust you to help them)
  • How to find the right remedy — every time
  • How to assess where you currently are on your plant path — and what to do to move to the next level
WHAT: The Path of the Practicing Herbalism Live Webinar
WHEN: Monday, October 2, 2023 2:00PM Pacific
WHERE: Click here to register
Be sure to bring any questions you have — whether they're from the Vitalist Herbalism Mini-Course, about herbalism in general, your plant path specifically, or anything really! There will be a Q&A session at the end where I'll answer your questions live.
Yes, there will be a replay of webinar, but only for those that register, so be sure to click here to register.
I hope to "see" you there!
Take care Jimi,

Mmm, chocolate quinoa. That whole recipe sounds wonderful.

Growing up, sometimes my mom made us chocolate cream of wheat. No sugar added. She just stirred some cocoa powder into the pot when cooking it. The aroma gets kids out of bed on a cold winter morning.

EPA attacks Berkey water filter company on such bogus grounds:

On the grounds that they contain pesticide, if you can imagine the unmitigated gall of that, because the Berkey filters out pathogens. Gawd.

This government wants us all dead, and the unelected bureaucracies are weaponized to do it.

Berkey is suing the EPA, as well they should.

Dear Jimi
Music can immediately transport us. If I hear Hawaiian music from my youth growing up in Hawaii, I'm immediately transported back to feeling like it's my senior year of high school. The whole world is in front of me. I'm capable of anything and invincible. Or I can hear certain Rihanna songs and feel like “let's go to Vegas” ready for a party!

The power of music

Music has so much to do with emotion and specific experiences. It is really powerful – impacting our mood, our motivation levels, and we can use that for good.

Music from our youth, and the emotional moments, like your wedding song or your first dance stay with us forever. These are often the last thing to go for people with dementia. Music is a huge piece of caring for people with dementia.

Music in Alzheimer’s care

This week I had a conversation with a gentleman whose mother and grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's. He moved his mother into a care facility when she was resistant. The facility told him not to visit for a couple of days to allow her to get settled. Three days later he walked in and she didn't recognize exactly who he was. She still knew him but didn't know his name.

He observed her dancing with others, listening to music from her era. She grabbed his hands and said “I love it here.” It was a magical moment for them. He had this sense that she was taken care of. She was in the right place.

Listen to this story

Another touching story shares how musician Adam McKay used music to stay connected with his mother Marti as her Alzheimer’s progressed. She would light up with joy and recognition, whistling along to the amazement of her caregivers.

A study from Northwestern University supports this power of music as a tool for connection. Patients with dementia, often struggling with communication, find solace and connection through music. It acts as a bridge to their loved ones, sparking moments of recognition and shared emotions.

How Marama uses music

At Marama we often have music playing throughout the day. We have music therapy every Sunday with live music once a month. Studies have shown that music therapy can stimulate neural pathways, potentially slowing the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

If you want to incorporate music therapy, Northwestern Medicine offers these tips:
  • Play music from your loved one’s teenage years or early 20s.
  • Observe your loved one’s response.
  • Use music to soothe.
  • Use as needed. For many people, music is a part of daily life.

The harmonious rhythm of music holds incredible potential in enhancing the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's disease. Let us continue to harness the power of music as a tool for healing and connection.

Warmly,
Dr. Heather Sandison

P.S. Here are some playlists to incorporate in music therapy:
YouTube Songs From the Old Days (Dementia Care Playlist)
Spotify Calming Music for Alzheimer’s
Spotify The Ultimate Upbeat Playlist for People Living with Dementia

They will never change my mind, I think Berkey is one of the very best water filters, I love mine

Jimi, multiple consumer tests have been done on the Berkey line, and it is absolutely the best. It doesn't contain any pesticides, -zero, -zip. It filters things out of the water, doesn't put things in the water AT ALL. You might enjoy that interview I linked. I think I recall he said not to buy his products on Amazon because there are counterfeit products on offer there.

The Dark Side of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know that Breast Cancer Awareness Month (‘PinkTober’) was created by a drug company that has patents for block buster pharmaceuticals for breast cancer? Welcome to the strange and dark rabbit hole of this annual, month-long cause marketing campaign intent on getting asymptomatic, healthy women to scan their breasts with radioactive mammograms, often finding disease that simply is not there. This has lead to an epidemic of over-diagnosis and treatment that has an immense number of causalities the likes of which the conventional medical establishment largely ignored, for the past 40 years.

Did you know cancer stem cells are the Mother cells of cancer?

They give birth to new cancer cells and tumor cells in the body.

The problem is, conventional treatment does not kill the cancer stem cells.

According to research published in PubMED, "Such drugs kill the majority of proliferating cancer cells, but cannot do so with dormant cancer (stem) cells, which can divide into proliferating cancer cells and cause relapses following chemotherapy"

That's why to help the body fight against a cancer diagnosis in the first place, or help our bodies destroy cancer altogether...

...we have to target cancer stem cells.

And ideally without side effects!

-->> Watch this new video showing a natural way to kill cancer stem cells.

Mitochondria, Sunlight, Collagen, and Energy
Hey Jim,

In this enlightening discussion, I am joined by Dr. Bernd Friedlander as we delve deep into the pivotal role of mitochondria and sunlight in maintaining optimal health. Dr. Friedlander underscores the significance of the mitochondria, our cell's powerhouse, attributing improved sleep, reduced disease, and enhanced overall health to its proper function. He highlights the critical influence of sunlight in life's evolution on Earth and its symbiotic relationship with mitochondria.

However, the contemporary world isn't without its health pitfalls. Dr. Friedlander cautions against the adverse health implications of prevalent technologies, such as computers, cell phones, and Wi-Fi. Their frequencies, vastly differing from the human body's natural Schumann Hertz at 7.83 Hertz, pose potential risks to our cognitive and physical well-being. Emphasizing the rejuvenating power of natural light, both physicians recommend basking in morning and afternoon sunlight to realign our body's circadian rhythm, boost healing, and potentially thwart specific ailments.

The conversation also touches upon collagen's indispensable role in our health, from skin sustenance to muscular and skeletal support. They underscore the merits of collagen supplementation, particularly from superior sources, and its integral role in athletic prowess and recuperation. Dr. Friedlander champions a holistic health approach: prioritizing outdoor activities, indulging in a nutrient-rich diet emphasizing proteins and fats, and minimizing contact with detrimental technologies. The overarching theme? Nature and our interaction with it often house the remedy.

WITH-THE-WIND-LOGOwBKG - Copy

Wednesday, 10/4, our 120th episode of With the Wind will be live on DoctorsandScience.com/Shows at 11:30 a.m. PT.

Ep. 120 - IG - 1
Click to watch the show!
In his From-the-Heart segment, Dr. Paul discusses how we can face the unknown with decisiveness and courage. As we enter cold and flu season, it is easy to succumb to anxiety about what is to come. He encourages us to decide now how we will respond. Whether it’s mask mandates, vaccine requirements, or even lockdowns imposed on us, decide now what your response will be. Making these choices ahead of time will help us overcome fear and rest in confidence and peace.
I would encourage them [parents] to do their own research, too, so that when they go to someone [practitioner], they have a question clearly in mind. And then they'll be able to judge whether this person is right for them or not, depending on how they answer it. Right? Yeah, I think people have a pretty good sense of what's going to help them and what's not going to help them.
— Dr. Richard Moskowitz
This week, we have Dr. Richard Moskowitz, a family practitioner who specializes in homeopathic medicine, join us to discuss the importance of getting childhood infections and the benefits of natural immunity. He gets personal and shares profound insights about navigating these complex issues with his family and the importance of seeking the truth.

Hi Jimi,
What you eat affects just about everything: How you think, how long and how well you live, and even what kind of a world you’ll leave your grandchildren.
The good news is that more and more people are waking up and taking action.
As millions of people catch wind of the benefits of the whole food, plant-based diet, there is a rapidly growing need for health coaches who specialize in plant-based nutrition.
Imagine if it was your job (or your passion project) to help people make a change that revolutionizes their lives.
Never before in history has there been such a demand for plant-based coaches — people who hold a deep understanding of plant-based nutrition and how to help people successfully implement positive diet and lifestyle changes.
If you’re curious about the rapidly exploring field of plant-based coaching… or if you’re interested in starting a new career or a side gig as a plant-based coach… or if you just want to learn more about how to help people get healthy… I have an exciting announcement.
You’re invited to join me and top experts for a LIVE workshop, on October 6-8, 2023.
>> Register for FRN’s Plant-Based Coaching Workshop: How to Change Lives Doing What You Love. (It’s free!)
In this three-part live training, you’ll learn:

  • The specific foods and nutrients that are shown to increase lifespan, improve heart health, starve cancer, slash the risk of dementia, and decrease type 2 diabetes markers.
  • How to get booked out with your first (or next) ten clients, or how to stand out in the job market to secure a top-paying position where you can use your skills.
  • The new breakthroughs in the science of coaching and how you can leverage the latest findings to help clients (and friends and loved ones) rapidly adopt healthier habits.
  • The big mistake that outdated coaching techniques make — and how to motivate your clients to go from wanting to change… to doing it.
  • And much more.
This fun, live, interactive workshop will give you potent insights and breakthrough ideas to help you be part of the growing food revolution movement that’s changing lives and the world for the better.
