The spec sheet is obviously wrong too, it says it tops out at 7.5v and will only fire down to .12 in joules mode.

To hell with the spec sheet and manual... This mod performs flawlessly, its well designed and made from tough stainless..
The chip is easy to program and very efficient firing anything I put on it...and for me the fact it was under $90 I'm very happy, with or without a correct spec sheet or manual.. That's the bottom line, as I already bought the mod making inaccuracies in the spec sheet totally irrelevant at this point..

Crossing my fingers that I get this damn thing tomorrow. It left Chicago area under an hour after getting there last evening. Assuming there is any competency at all, I'm guessing somebody said, "L.A. To Denver, why the fuck is this here? Back to Denver..." It better get scanned at the main facility in Denver tonight, then be out for delivery tomorrow. It ain't coming today, and though it still says it's getting delivered yesterday, it better be here tomorrow. I bet @smacksy could've shipped his second one to me and I'd have gotten it already. Lol.
Shit like this, and the countless other stories on this site, just re inforce why the USPS is losing money, to put it kindly. The model of efficiency.
@st0nedpenguin that's a pretty looking build, man. Looks real clean. I'm glad these are working well for everyone, myself soon to be included. I really prefer the Silver, too, though the mirror screen is questionable. I can't read my iPV3 or Mini 2 in sun either, though. The contrast with the black sleeve is slick on the silver.

But I do sympathise with you... I used to drive for Navajo Express there in Denver...I know it can be pretty congested in that area at times.
Maybe tomorrow you'll get it hopefully!
I hear a lot about this mirror screen being an issue for some folks...its not for me...I do have to look at it closely but it's very readable as is,..

Yeah, the screen doesn't look bad. Like I said, I can't read any of my displays outside unless they're fully illuminated such as while firing.
I see those Navajo Express trucks. Denver can get congested. How long ago was that? They've actually finished a lot of I-25, I-225, and I think they're widening 36. It's better, and the light rail expansion helped, too.

BTW, my brother pre ordered his IPV4 Monday from VapeNW and called me just now to say he got his "order has shipped" email today.
That's great because he lives in Bellingham WA and its not that far from VapeNW in WA... he could get it this coming Monday...

Nice, Colorado is a pretty cool place, IMO. I could live here forever, but a move to San Diego is likely at some point in the future. Hope your brother gets lucky and gets it tomorrow. I haven't checked tracking in an hour or so, time to check, lol.

It's huge! But I do like the way the rounded cover feels, and the mirrored screen is a non-issue inside. I just have to get used to how big it is to hold! I don't have any nickel wire, so I'm just working with kanthal - and that works just like its little brother, the IPV V2! But I'm sure I'll only use this at home because it's so big!
It's some kind of cast metal, but I don't think it's stainless steel. I think SS is expensive to cast and quite specialized requiring induction furnaces and atmospheric controls. I would seriously doubt a chinese company would be doing this for a 80 dollar mod.
Its non magnetic, it isn't aluminum and its not pot metal... I think its a Chinese grade stainless... Its heavy like stainless and I don't think its cast....it polished up nicely and it doesn't rust..works for me, lol

Definitely looks like a casting to me. It's not machined for sure. You have to get stainless up to 2800F to melt. Your right though, who cares as long as it works !!
Update! My tracking states my package is in Kearny NJ. Looks like I'll definitely get it tomorrow
You are lucky, mine says it is meant to be here tomorrow, but been showing LA for 2 days now, keeping my fingers crossed, but we know how USPS is.
Just noticed that GearBest has changed the listing for the IPV4. It used to say the color options were "silver" and "black". Now the options are "silver" and "silver with black". The picture for the "silver with black" is of the silver one. Wondering if that means the "silver" one is the black with silver sleeve. Either way, I just want my IPV4 lol.

Not gonna lie, if by some mixup they send me the black with silver sleeve, I won't mind one bit. Will just paint the sleeve black lol.

That pic with the all black I saw a page or so ago looks pretty awesome I hope they stick that course....but also inspecting a picture of the packaging it comes in there are a bunch of color options on it...who knows what kind of colors P4Y has coming out next

I think I'm a CF junkie CF this CF that lol expensive habit, That all black iPV4 that was posted a page or two back looks like the shell has a differen't texture. I will find out when they will be arriving and will get one cause that shit looks steatlhly sick.
Hard to say with them. The ones in ppl's hand is labeled silver on their box. Wonder what this does to my order is all I am wondering.

I decided to get a couple new skins for P4Y collection... dark woodgrain for ipv3, black snake skin for ipv mini v2, and BLACK RAIN for the ipv4.
I already modified the screen to see it easier. And i am now using the new efest 38amp 18650's (which so far i like).
@Wooglin I've been thinking a lot about this and I just tested it. I'm afraid I think you've overlooked something, and it is in fact only going up to 60W
When you saw it firing at 3V, I am pretty sure that you saw that at the end of the vape, or at least during the middle. Not right at the start of the vape, when the coil was actually at 0.076. And any voltage from later in the vape is when the coil is no longer at the base resistance due to increased temperature.
I just did a test: 50J, temp at 430, dual coil coming out to 0.079. When I first press fire, it shows first 2.00V which is just over 50W. Then by a second or two later, it's increasing up to 3V as you saw.
But as soon as the coil heats up, it is no longer at 0.079 ohms. The resistance of nickel increases dramatically as the temperature increases. So when we see it at 3V the resistance will actually be more like 0.15 according to Ohms Law, assuming a max of 60W.
With other coils at higher ohms I have seen initial voltages applied that were close to 60W, but never anything over it.
So I am pretty much convinced that TC is a max of 60W as expected from specs.
If I'm missing something myself please do let me know - obviously I'd love to hear it can fire higher than 60, I just don't think there's any evidence that it can.

Mail already been, it's not coming today, now just hoping it not lost, as no update for 3 days.
I've had so many things that said delivery on a certain day when that day has passed. They always show up eventually though - bummer!

With my usps a package gets delivered separately than my actual mail.
That is weird to me. Do you have a separate box for packages? Or do you mean that your letter carrier does not carry any packages?

Every once in a while my postman will drop off a package first. Then later on will deliver the letters and mail. Maybe because he had a lot of packages in the truck. I'm not sure....but a couple times that had happened.
Of course would of liked it today, but not like I am short on devices, and at least with wakeandvape paid by paypal, so if it does end up lost, I am covered by paypal, but had plenty of time packages with no tracking for 3-5 days and then suddenly turn up, so now I will keep my hopes up for Monday
The cover piece looks like it was injection molded. Looks like pin marks on it where the pins push the piece out of the molds. Or a casting mold that uses pins to push it out of the mold.
