I have one. I bought it as a work device. It works well enough some think might have a Kangxin board in it but I am not sure as I have no experience with the Kangxin flasks or any other dna clone boards besides this one.

It does seem to have a annoying quirk though. After it goes to sleep you have to hit the button like 10 times to wake it up, your setting is no longer set, and it asks you if it is a new coil. For me it is a pretty annoying thing because as a work beater it is not getting used as often and goes into sleep mode more often. Probably something that will be addressed and later production may fix it.

Aside from some quirks the mod seems to function well enough, the temp protection works, and if it hold up I can deal with the quirks as I like that it is a 50w device. Phil Busardo has it in his que so seeing his numbers on the scope will be interesting. Also if he gets to it I think it will be the first dna style with tp on his scope.

While I don't have a freaking clue what is inside it, I can tell you that I really like it.

It seems to monitor the resistance of your coil in real time. For example, I will remove my topper to fill the tank and when I replace it, the thing askes if you are using the old coil or a new one. Press + for new/different coil, Press - for same coil.

I have not tried the temp control yet. I will do that once I get some NI200 wire.

But I can tell you that when you turn it on, the display comes up in Temp Control mode but once I send power to the coil, it seems to realize it is dealing with Kanthal and changes to VW mode.

So even without trying it in TC mode, somehow I am sure it will work as advertized.

One thing I do have to mention is that it is a heavy sucker but what would you expect from a mod that has been made to withstand just about anything you can throw at it, or throw it at!.

But I have been using mine constantly since I first got it and I really don't notice the weight at all. The body of the device is curvy and rounded except for the flat(er) part that has the screen and controls and out of all the mods I have, it is by far the most comforable to hold.

The silicon material by nature is kind of slick so all of the texturing of the exterior in my mind is kind of neccessary to give your hand a grip on it.

But then again, if you drop the sucker, you are not going to hurt it. It may dent your floor if it lands battery cap down but the device will be fine.

And last but not least, due to the design of the base combined with the weight, you can set the thing upright with your favorite topper on it and it will not fall over.

Here is where I got mine from.

I have the blue one but it is nowhere near as bright blue as the picture shows. Kind of a more subdued darker blue.

Anyway, if you have not guessed, I have no problems suggesting this device to other vapers.

Your response came in as I was writing mine:D

You know, I had heard about this device having the same "Quirks" you just mentioned.

And I am thinking that I may just have a newer and updated version.

While I have not timed it, it seems to need an extended period of non use before it goes into sleep mode. A hour or two would be my best guess.

And when that happens, 5 clicks brings it back to life.

Also, I noticed when I first got it and installed the battery, 5 clicks did not turn it on. The device arrived locked so I had to press the + and - buttons at the same time for like 5 seconds, then 5 clicks and then it would power up.

When I have put it away for the night (like 8+hours) I do need to repeat the above process again.

And in both power up instances, the device does remember your settings. But when you remove your battery to swap it out for a charged one, it reverts to the 10 watt setting and needs to figure out which type of coil you are using.

@UncleRJ When yours goes into sleep mode do you have to hit the button like 10 times to wake it? After waking does it save your settings or do you have to do like this one and set everything again including the new/old coil question?

This one is grey and I originally ordered the green but then had to change because the green was not really available. This was my first experience with receiving something from Gear Best.

Haha you responded while I typed my question.

Maybe I got an earlier one. I can deal with the quirks because it functions well enough. I have not timed it but it seems to go to sleep about an hour in I am guessing. The most annoying is waking it because I have to wonder if it will one day not wake up.

The thing seems to have like two sleep modes. One after an hour or two which takes 5 clicks to wake up and it remembers my settings.

The other seems to be after a few hours. Then I have to unlock it, 5 clicks and it still remembers my settings.

Ok so I popped my battery out. I then put it back in and it saved my setting. I then vaped it for a minute and then set it down long enough to go into sleep mode. When I woke it up it only took like 5 clicks to wake and it saved my settings. Must have been some weird glitch. So the trade is off @UncleRJ lol

How long ago did you get yours?

I really think that there have been at least two different versions of the chip.

And no, there was never ever any chance of a trade!:D:p:D

I just got this on Thursday. It came from Gear Best so they may have had older stock. I am just glad that the settings saved. I had read about someone else saying they had the same issue and then battery removal corrected it. Not sure if next time I swap the battery out if it will revert back to previous quirks but for now it has been corrected.

I already closed the door on the trade so don't come trying to sweet talk me now lol

Here is a trick i have learned to not lose the settings if you hit fire one time and wait 5 seconds then hit it 5 times it will come back on with the same settings you had has worked for me even with battery change for the last two weeks. Hope this helps

This device is a trip. I used it all day today and it worked great, but last night I took the batt out and gave it a charge so I did not leave the house half cocked. This morning when I put the batt in it saved my settings, so it must have some type of auxiliary power memory.

It just holds the setting in the chip ram. Even my old Cloupor DNA clone you had to leave the battery out for a good 24hrs to reset the chip.
